Dungeons And Dragons Half-orcs Have Such Great Whump Potential

A half-orc Whumpee stands his ground against Whumper. He takes the blows for the rest of the team because he knows that he can take it. He hopes he can take it. All he has to do is draw attention away from the other members of the team. Help will be there soon. It has to be.

Whumpee gets beaten down, blow after blow, until he is on his knees. He feels the gravel sharp in his knees, and blood pounding in his ears. Whumpee prays to whichever gods will listen, asking for the strength to keep going.

Whumper looks down at Whumpee and laughs. It's a surprisingly light laugh, but the cruelty in it is clear. Whumper suddenly stops, and there is a deathly silence. Whumpee barely has time to process the now almost bored look on Whumper's face, when they feel a sharp pain in their side.

Blood pours out of Whumpee. Dark, sticky and far too much of it. When Whumper gently pulls out the dagger, the blood and pain only gets worse. After a few seconds in a daze, Whumpee blinks, pleasantly surprised by the fact he was still conscious, let alone alive. Glancing around at the expressions of his teammates, he can see a confusing mix of horror and relief.

Whumpee really should be dead, but he isn't. He is barely holding it together, but he is alive. And that's a very good thing.

Whumpee gathers the last of his strength and  stands up. With fire in his eyes and blood on his face, he stares unflinchingly at Whumper.

"Is that all you have got?"

For the first time, Whumper almost looks a little scared of Whumpee, and the power he must have to survive a wound like that.

Whumpee stands tall, and the throbbing sound of his headache becomes more regular, like the sound of hoofbeats in the distance. It sounds like hope.
