I can't remember if I've ever cried this much for a fanfic before but OH MY GOD, AMELIAAAA I CAN'T ANYMORE– 😭😭😭 two times in a row...
I cried when oc was forced to resign from Park Motors and leave her apartment for some time to ease her pain, I cried when Jimin was getting his engagement photos taken with a heavy heart, I cried when oc saw the announcement and read the headline – like I did cry so much that I got to the point where I had to take short breaks in between to wipe my tears so that I could keep reading, damn... I can’t say I didn't like it though. It was painfully good, beautifully written and full of emotions once again 💔😭😭
“And did you know that when I tried to end things out of respect for Jimin and you, that he would beg me to marry him over and over?”
Deok-su’s face falls and from that simple question, you have the upper hand, and you use it to drive your point home.
“That he would resign as CEO as long as he could have me? That he was willing to choose me over everything else because he loves me?… Me,” you repeat. “A lower class girl from Gangbuk-gu, with uneducated parents and no social status that you deem so important.”
The same way Deok-su knew that you and Jimin would break up because of him, you knew that despite what he’s always thought, it’s you who would have the upper hand as long as Jimin doesn’t have you.
The look on Deok-su’s face is priceless, but you’re far too hurt to care.
Steeling yourself, you finish what you came here to say, your pain and contempt clear in every word. “I truly apologise for the stress I must’ve caused you, Mr Park. The mere thought of your grandson being with someone like me must’ve been horrifying to someone like you.” Your vision blurs with tears as you say your next words, your voice rife with emotions —
“But I will never apologise for loving Jimin, nor will I apologise for him loving me, because he is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and even though you’ve taken that away from me, I’ll always love him.”
I personally think that the part where oc visited Deok-su and Eun-ae in the hospital was one of the most powerful moments throughout the story, it's my top favorite oc moment right now. She's the strongest and yes, far better than many of those women raised with wealth and status as Deok-su finally started to realize himself – him feeling guilty is a glimpse of heaven in this absolute hell, and that thrilling cliffhanger got me hoping again. Looking forward to seeing some off-the-cuff reactions, they better be good omg!
Also, I loved that Pil-woo and Eun-ae never missed the chance to remind Deok-su how disappointed they were by his attitude, especially Eun-ae. At first I thought she shared the same beliefs with her husband, but now she has my gratitude 🙏 And honesty, it's quite interesting to know there's some kind of love-based desicion type parallelism between them. Can't wait to see what's about... Deok-su, what have you done?
