When a human passes away, their body will begin to deteriorate until they are reduced to nothing but fragments of the earth, leading the soul to be off on its own journey. Some souls pass on without much struggle, leaving the lives they once lead in peace.

But some souls don’t.

These souls remain connected to the earth, suspended by their own humanly attachments, unable to leave and forced to linger until they can detach themselves completely from the source of their pain.

These souls are called ghosts.
