today was you and minghaos 5th year wedding annivesary. Minghao was supposed to bring you out for dinner today to celebrate, or so you thought.

you were getting ready for your dinner date with your husband, who was supposedly on the way to pick you up from home until suddenly you got a notification from minghao,:

HUBBY<3: sorry sweetheart, but i dont think i can make it today… theres an emergency at work, i promise i’ll make it up to u alright?

You sighed reading that message, Minghao had always been a very caring and loving man but you knew minghao was often very busy, and you have always been patient about it. But today was the last straw.

You thought to yourself, maybe minghao finally made time to spend time with you on this special day, but a part of you also knew you shouldn’t get your hopes too high. You leaned back in ur chair amd looked at that messgae again feeling disappointed and … angry.

you sat on the couch waiting for your husband pissed off.

it was about midnight till he finally arrived home from work. You heard the keypad from outside and the door opening.

The atmosphere was thick with tension. Minghao walked uo to you, saying,

“sorry honey, it was really bust today at work an-“

But before he can continue u snapped, tired and frustrated at his excuses.

“So what if you were busy? Can’t you make some time for your wife on OUR ANNIVERSARY DAY? I have been patient knowing that you will always be busy due to your job but-“

Minghao answered back before you could say anything else,

“I know okay? I know, im sorry?! Like i said i was busy and today was a tiring day. I said i would make uo to you right?? I have-“

“no. Stop, stop saying you will make up for it!! I’ve heard all of it, you keep repeating the same things over and over again, but u never keep your promise!” You shout angrily.

minghao flinched hearing you snap, throughout the whole marriage, never have he seen you this angry.

“baby, im sorry but i have been super busy and u know it! So please understand and-“

“STOPPPP”

He stopped seeing you breaking down into tears. Guilt and concern etched minghaos face when he saw you cry. He rushed to ur side and hugged you tight in his arm. “shhhhhh, im sorry im sorry. i know, i know… im sorry, shhhh…”

he scooped you up and places u on the couch beside him, still hugging you, whispering comforting words to you as u sunggle against his side. Oh how much you missed his hug,

the atmosphere felt like a warm bubble that protected the both you. After awhile your sobs eventually stopped and you fell asleep.

Minghao chuckled feeling ur body relax againts his. You looked so peaceful in your sleep. Minghao kissed the top of your head,adding with a gentle tone,

“good night sweetheart, sleep tight”

It’s been a week since the both of you fought. You can't help but remember what occurred that night, but you attempted to forget and push aside those thoughts as whenever the thought comes in mind, you' feel like tearing up, which will make Minghao worry. But it seems like luck is on your side because today minghao had apparently planned a surprise for you. He told you to dress casual and comfortable. Despite being slightly upset at him, you couldn’t help but follow his request and feel excited.

you followed what he told you, wearing a simple sage green sweater and white jeans. After getting ready, you sat on the couch waiting for minghao impatiently, excited for the suprise. Just as you were gonna call him out, he appeared out using a coat whith a white dress shirt underneath and jet black pants holding his phone and and car keys. You can’t help but stare as the beautiful figure infront of you. The way his dress shirt outlines his toned chest and body. You snapped out of your spell when u heard minghao chuckled then saying,

“Sweetheart? You fine? You look like you’re gonna drool”

You returned his statement with a glare and stood up,

“are we leaving yet?”

you walked towards the doorway and exited the house as minghao hummed in response. As you were walking towards the car, you suddenly saw minghao jogged past you to open the car door for you. You smiled softly feeling touched at that simple gesture. You entered the car and closed the door as minghao walked to the drivers seat.

You were silent throughout the whole car ride. You leaned againts the seat of your husband’s black austin martin. You stared out the window the whole car ride, feeling a bit guilty for hwtting mad at minghao. Minghao realised your silence and decided to break it,

“sweetheart? Are you alright?”

you turned ur head to him and nodded with a smile,

“yep, all fine, just excited”

when i arrived to your destination, i unbuckled your seatbelt and was about to exit the car when minghao stopped me.

“wait, i need you to close ur eyes”

i looked at him confused and exited the car, following what minghao requested, i closed my eyes. I felt a pair of hands on my shoulder as he lead me to out final destination.

as i thought this would go on forever, i felt minghao’s grip on my shoulders tighten signalling me to stop walking. Then minghao removed his hands and whispered,

“baby… you ready for the suprise? You can open your eyes now”

you opened ur eyes nervously, not knowing what to expect. As you opened your eyes, you were greeted with a beautiful picnic set up with a mini tent and fairy light all around it. There were your favourite comfort snacks and a bouquet of your favourite flowers, tulips. You turned to minghao shocked and immediately hugged him tightly, pressing him againts your body. Minghao chuckled at your reaction and hugged you back.

“you like it hmm?”

“are you seriously asking me that now hao? I love it, so much.” You replied placing a soft kiss on minghaos lips. From that night on, you knew, minghao’s apologies were real.

nanas love note: I DEFINITELY DID NOT CRIED WRITING THIS😖 this is probably the longest yet sweetest one yet. Prob one of my favourite works now. Ik i said on Tuesday but SUPRISE<3💗 ANYWAYS AS PER USUALL, gotta give my special thanks to @icyy-hoon for helping me with this MASTERPIECE🫶🏻 i hope you like it and for those who haven’t read part 1, GO READ IT‼️
