Sonic wakes up in a hospital bed, a chair to his right currently has a blurry black and red figure that Sonic cannot recognize, as his eyes haven’t fully adjusted yet. After a few seconds his eyes fully adjusted to then realize shadow was sitting in the chair, the dark agent’s eyes barely open and arms crossed fur slightly messy and seemingly uncomfortable.

“You look like shit.” he said slightly sarcastic with a chuckle and a smirk

“Says the one who is literally in a hospital bed.” he said sounding irritated, but secretly he was relieved at the cobalt hero’s awakening. Sonic laughed a little at that comment

“How's everything been? Is the rest of the team safe?” Sonic said worried for everyone else, shadow smiles slightly at this knowing Sonic will never change, even when hospitalized

“It's been fine, everyone was worried for you for the months you were out, especially Amy and Tails”

“Heh, of course. Amy’s always a worrier” Sonic remarked. “Did anything else happen?”

“Tails has been inventing new things with varying degrees of stability, Knuckles has been doing what he always does, Amy has been leaving bouquets everyday, and Sticks is also fairly normal.” 

Shadow hadn’t realized until now, but he had been holding Sonic’s hand in his own whilst he was talking, softly blushing a bright emerald green color and looking to the left of Sonic. Sonic hadn’t noticed and was blissfully unaware, staring into Shadow’s ruby-like eyes.

“What?” Sonic says while he smiles softly, brows furrowed slightly

Shadow continues to look away, his mouth slightly open, in a thin line.
