I think with the goofy expressions he tends to make it’s not very intimidating. Though I’m sure it can be- if you didn’t know of his aloof tendencies? In the dark? Tearing into food? Genuinely angry? I wrote a line before, paraphrasing, something like “his wide smile, every sharp tooth in plain view, it would have frightened anyone else, yet it only excited Astarion.”
