I think the best part of OCs is, not making the character themself. Not designing their appearance, not writing their backstory, not using the inaccurate quote generator to find stupid quotes that fit them BUT

The true best part is all the little things that make them so realistic. I love a tragic backstory but I DESPERATELY want to hear about their minor personality quirks. When typing, are they overly formal, put punctuation in weird spots, or is their typing so bad that other people need a translator for them? Are their showers hot or cold, and how far in each direction (e.x., boiling themselves alive or the water coming out is practically ice)? Are they right handed or left handed? Do they have a favorite childhood recipe? Big trauma scars are nice, but what about the little scars from peaceful times that map their story on their body, like a dime-sized patch of softer skin where they scraped their knee when they were a toddler, or small scratches that never healed on their arm from an angry cat? I want to know ALL the minute details, down to the slight shake in their hands that seems to be missing in other people, or the tiny, lonely freckle under their eye <3
