Man, I fucking love Side Order. I love the roguelite take on Splatoon. I love how it feels like a new campaign. I love the repeating floors, letting me learn and improve on each one while also teaching me which ones I should avoid like the plague. I love the story (yes, really) and I don’t think that “Tell, don’t show” is inherently a bad thing, at least not how it’s done here. I love seeing Smollusk’s takes on the cast and the new pieces of lore that both he and other sources add. I especially love the idea it’s given me for a “human in Splatoon” story that I will probably never write.
I hate that people think they need to convince me out of liking something that they don’t.

Agent 4 fans stand up.
For those unaware, the current understanding of the Side Order Famitsu Interview is that Agent 4 is stated to be the rumored strongest agent.
This is in fact consistent with what we know about their character and if this translation is accurate I'm so happy.
I've been on the Agent 4 is the strongest train since Octo Expansion, and I'm excited to live in a reality where this is the case. I will happily take my strong as hell Agent 4 who isn't hip because they spend all their free time training thank you

Dis is why I love splatoon lore and what they do for dah game. Yah can see how much dah game makers and artists love about dah world day made...only reason w3 don't get Dat in S3 is cause of Nintendo overlords Xb
When Side Order came out, i saw a lot of people say "oh man Agent 4 was shafted so badly, they were treated so poorly."
But, you guys are forgetting the other agent that's probably gonna get shafted even harder than them...
It has been nearly 2 years since Splatoon 3 came out and we know NOTHING about Neo Agent 3. Like, literally nothing. No relationship chart, no concept art details aside from a cool as hell cloak which I wish was in the game, (well it was but you could not wear it.) We ain't got nothing on them besides the fact that they earn a living from salvaging scraps with smallfry. I know that they are the player character and all and they are meant to be a blank slate but... Look at Captain and Agent 8...
Maybe they might get something significant in Splatoon 4 but we'll have to wait and see.
Hell, we can't even wear their survival gear in multiplayer battles!!! Why?!?!? LET ME WEAR IT IN MULTIPLAYER NINTENDO! PLEASEEEEE!!!!!!! IT LOOKS SO COOL!!!

Honestly sometimes I wish the game was just was Splatoon 2 with all the new other stuff. Sometimes I think of going back to play 2 but I’d miss the lockers, the badges, splashtags, catalog, etc. and I can’t imagine playing without squid roll.
But the stages, the weapons, the music… I miss it all so much. I miss MPU, I miss Stingray, I miss Tenta Missiles on every weapon class, I miss when Grizzco capsules could give you money. I miss Port Mackerel, Kelp Dome, Piranha Pit…
It seems like everything I was looking forward to making a return from 2 didn’t.
Maybe these are unpopular opinions but to me it feels like the devs listened to peoples whines about ‘meta’ a little too much and ended up watering down a lot of what made Splatoon 2 so much fun for me.
one of the funniest things splatoon 3 did was change "squid form" to "swim form" to apparently be more inclusive to octolings but then at the very same time introduce "squid" roll and "squid" surge. like what was the fucking POINT
