In the beginning Alyna saw Jaskier as annoying, honestly. Like Geralt and many others have. But, she slowly begin to realize that he was sweet, attentive, and just doing what made him happy. Something Alyna never truly had the luxury of. Alyna was raised by overprotective and emotionally distant parents, having not many friends nor any siblings. She admired him for it. Eventually she fell for him and his stories of places he'd been with Geralt.
