I know chapter 194 is old and there are a lot more exciting things happening in the story right now, but it was Noritoshi's birthday yesterday so I felt like writing this. He is so severely underrated and I never see anyone talk about his backstory so I'm going to do it myself (there are probably like only total three Noritoshi fans in the entire fandom but anyways):

I think it's so tragic how Noritoshi's only goal his entire life was to become the head of the clan so that his mother could live safely with him without being shunned and ostracized by everyone. But because he fails his mother couldn't come back to him and when he goes to check up on her after the events of Shibuya he sees that she has actually moved on by starting a new family, one that she can be around happily and safely. And we see just how much this pains Noritoshi because of the quote:

"Whether I live or die no longer matters"

So he was stripped of both his clan and his family and now he no longer has any goal to work towards (Gege leave at least one of your characters un-traumatised challenge impossible).

To be honest I think even if Noritoshi did become head his mother still wouldn't have come back. She had moved on a long time ago and that's understandable considering there was such a long period in between her leaving Noritoshi when he was a child to present.

"If I am no longer needed, let me set my life ablaze, so that at the very least my companions lives will burn brightly on my ashes" this quote is so amazing and so underrated it hurts.
