one of the first living things we sent to space was Hamm the Chimp !!
he was born and raised on Holloman Air Force Base
the chimp farm has long since been shut down considering that it was technically unethical
( now I don’t disagree before y’all try to cancel me )
anyway
When he returned he ended up living the rest of his years out here
and he’s currently buried at the National Space Museum in Alamogordo New Mexico
NM has such rich history with our science and space history
