Into Eternity - Part IX

Oh shit, hi there.

So, this has been written for months I just suck. And it’s not edited to forgive typos and shizz. Love you guys though, so please enjoy!

Into Eternity - Part IX

As per usual I don’t own this picture.

Pairing: Park Jimin X Reader

Genre: Fantasy, Prince!AU, Romance, Action.

Warnings: Just some angst, maybe some light adult themes. Nothing too crazy.

The days leading up to your departure was difficult to say the least. Jimin was still Prince, so he still had duties to attend to. It seemed as though the world wanted you to wait for him, long into the night... only to fall asleep and wake for him to be gone once more.

Sitting in your parlor of Taehyung’s castle, you glared at Jimin and a Princess of a neighboring Kingdom. They were taking tea in the garden, discussing possible trade routes for the upcoming winter.

The days were chilling and crops now becoming scarce. She came from a Tropical climate, boasting a luxurious tan and beautiful brown locks.

You knew you were jealous. It wasn’t a proud feeling, but you knew it set deep within your own insecurities. You didn’t feel worthy of Jimin... you knew there were plenty of other Princesses that looked like dolls...

Even though you were chosen for the Prince because of your beauty... you couldn’t help feel inept in the whole scheme of things.

Looking down at your waist you frowned. She was surely thinner than you... going over to the mirror your quickly pulled your dress off, throwing it on the floor and heaving in some deep breaths.

“Highness?” Your handmaiden, Sissel, came forward.

“Sissel, will you help me put my corset on?” You asked.

She frowned. “Highness, his Majesty said we were to purge all of them from your wardrobe... he even selected new dresses for-“

“I don’t want new ones!” You cried. “I-I want to look beautiful in the ones from the Palace... I want to look like a Princess worthy of her Prince.”

You felt hot, wet tears falling down your face. Sissel hurried forward and petted your head. “Highness your very beautiful! Beautiful hair, a gorgeous smile, bright eyes. All things women would kill to have! The Prince cares for you deeply, none of us have seen him so taken in all his life!”

Nights before you had spoken such words of love to one another... but still your fear of losing him won out.

“My dear are you to start bleeding soon?” Sissel asked.

You thought for a few moments and nodded slow. “I am to begin during the week. I haven’t yet...”

“These are merely feelings from your moon cycle. It is alright,” she soothed.

“I want to see him,” You hiccuped.

Sissel frowned and looked out your window. She saw the Princess of Laureliea sitting across from the Prince. She was obviously trying to make herself appealing. Possibly to become a Mistress of his. It would make sense. If she was to secure a place in his court, then no doubt Laureliea would become prosperous.

However, the Prince wasn’t looking for Mistresses. All she was doing was upsetting his wife. You have power over her, Sissel knew this. Jimin will do anything you ask within reason, so perhaps you merely needed to start asking for things.

“Highness, please tell me if I am being too bold... but, perhaps you could request some of his Majesty’s time today? After tea, he is supposed to train with Jungkook... but I’m sure Jungkook would let him visit with you instead?”

You looked up and bit your lip. “Do you think Jimin would agree?” You asked.

“Highness, His Majesty would do anything to spend time with you.”

You nodded and looked at your dress on the floor. “May I change into the pink dress for the rest of the day?” You asked.

“Absolutely Highness!”

* * *

Jimin was utterly bored. The Princess of Laureliea was too forward and much too pushy for his liking. Her Mother was much better at trade deals then herself.

“So, your Majesty...” she trailed off, setting her tea down and smiling. She looked like a snake, it was unsettling.

“Yes, Princess,” Jimin acknowledged.

“Please, call me Alice,” she encouraged. Jimin tried not to scowl but nodded.

“Alice,” he agreed.

“I love the way you say that, so regal and refined... I am here to ask you not only of trading opportunities, but another as well,” she stated.

“What might that be?” He asked.

“Word of your Wife’s ailments have reached my kingdom. My nursemaids all say she is sickly, and that she needs time to heal. I’ve brought some of our herbs to help aid in her healing,” she said before setting a delicate gold box down on the table.

“Thank you for your kind thoughts. However, my wife is one of the strongest women I know. She may be more prone to ailments, but that doesn’t stop her from being an independent woman.”

“How do you think she'll fair during labor?” She asked, picking up her tea once more.

“I beg your pardon?” Jimin scoffed. “How is that any of your concern?”

“Your Majesty, the future of your Kingdom will affect all of ours. Myself and several other princesses would gladly produce an heir for your kingdom in order to save our Queen,” she stated.

“And secure yourselves as well as your kingdom thousands of riches beyond measure. This is where you have underestimated my wife once more. Tell me Princess, once the Child is born will you leave them here with me? Or would you like to see them and have say in their raising?” Jimin asked.

“I would leave it here with you, Majesty. The nurses and nannies will raise them. And the Queen can surely dole out the duties of a mother in my stead,” she reasoned.

“My wife would disagree with you,” jimin said darkly. The Princess shifted in her seat. “My wife and I have spoken of children fondly. She wants to be there for our children. To raise them herself, not leaving it to nurses and nannies to handle them. She wants to be their mother, not their Queen. That is why she will be the only mother of my children. Thank you for meeting with me today, the tea was lovely. The guards will escort you back to you carriage My Lady. Safe travels.”

Jimin stood from the table and headed towards the barracks. Training with Jungkook would help him blow off all this pent up frustration and anger.

* * *

You sat out in the training yard, a shawl wrapped around you to protect you from the chill. Sissel has insisted you wait here for Jimin, seeing you would bring him great joy.

Stalking around the courtyard Jimin gripped his sword until he saw you...

Sitting in the cold with a mere shawl wrapped around your form. Worry ate up his throat. “Y/N, darling what are you doing out in the cold?” He asked, rushing over to place his jacket over your shoulders. “The Frost is coming and I don’t want you to catch your death out here in the training yard in nothing but a measly shawl-”

“Jimin, I am to leave in the morning,” you whispered. Jimin stopped his fussing for a moment to assess the time. Did he truly let a week pass? When had it happened?

He stared at you, astounded. “My love-I,” he couldn’t finish his statement.

“I’m not angry. But I do want to spend time with you. I refuse to leave without you knowing how much I care for you,” you breathed, standing up and wrapping your arms around him in a solid embrace.

“I’m sorry, I’ve spent so much time assuring that you’ll be well cared for during your absence that... that I neglected the one whom I wanted to stay more than anything,” he stated. He took your face in his hands. Marveling your soft skin and beautiful eyes.

Wrapping your hands around his wrists. “I know. But let’s not waste what little time we have left...” you breathed.

Jimin nodded and eagerly brought you to his lips. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed back with urgency.

You needed to remember this... how he felt pressed against you. How he felt touching your neck and cheek. How his lips caressed your own with such adoration. It was intoxicating to have him so close. Mouth moving against yours with reckless abandon.

“You’re making this difficult,” Jimin huffed, moving his hands to your hips. You moved to kiss him again, when he kept you still with his grip.

“What?” You asked, breathless.

“Keeping you pure,” he growled. You felt liquid heat flood your body. Biting your lip you wrapped him in your arms.

“Jimin, I want nothing more than to give your everything I am... but now is not the time for us... until the witch who wants my death is purged... we can’t be safe,” you whispered.

“I know, but that doesn’t quell my desire for you,” he chuckled. “But, my love... your departure tomorrow fills me with sadness.”

His eyes gleamed with sorrow as he looked at you before him. Your cheeks were flushed pink and he couldn’t imagine letting you go so easily. His heart clenched at the thought of you leaving him. Jimin had never felt such anxiety before. He knew he wouldn’t be able to see you for a long while. No doubt a few months. Your sweet smile, and bell like laughter. Soft skin and warm embrace.

“It hurts me too, Jimin. I know your sadness,” you whispered. “But tomorrow isn’t here yet, so let us spend the time together.”

Jimin nodded and wrapped you up in his arms once more. “Let me make you dinner, no help from the Palace chefs, just my hands,” he asked.

“Where did you learn to cook?” you asked, raising a brow at him.

“I liked to watch our butlers prepare the meals as a child. It always fascinated me how they made the food so beautiful and full of flavor at the same time. There was one dish I always begged for them to make me, even if it did make my cheeks fuller than I’d care to admit,” he flushed pink.

“I like your cheeks full,” you smiled, tugging on one for emphasis.

“Hush,” he laughed. “But, will you do me the honour of joining me for a meal tonight?” he asked.

“And miss the opportunity to sample his Highness’s cuisine? It’d be shameful to deny such a wholesome request,” you teased.

“Indeed,” he smiled. “Meet me in the back garden, under the pavilion at sunset. I wish to surprise you my love.”

“You dote on me too much,” you huffed. “But, I’ll be there.”

“No corseted dresses. No painful hair styles. Just bring yourself, this is not a formal affair,” he pleaded.

“As you request,” you nodded.

Moving to head back inside the palace Jimin pulled you into a kiss once more. You let him maneuver his mouth against yours, leaving your toes tingly and lips swollen. “I can’t wait to see you again. Don’t be late,” he whispered.

“Not by a moment,” you assured.

* * *

Picking out a dress for the evening was stressful. You desired to obey Jimin’s request, but you also longed to look beautiful for him. It would be the last night you spent together for a long while and you wanted him to remember it. Sissel walked in holding a box in her hands.

“Your Highness, this dress was selected by Lord Taehyung. He is suggesting you wear it tonight,” she announced. You raised a brow.

“How does Lord Taehyung know of my meeting with my husband tonight?” you questioned. Sissel blushed and set the box on the bed.

“Lord Taehyung is helping his Majesty with the meal preparations. Seeing as how he almost set the grain stash on fire while warm the stove. He refused help from the staff, but Lord Taehyung was a little more insistent.”

You shook your head and laughed. Of course he would. He claimed to be good in the kitchen, but you knew that he would be slightly clumsy no matter what. Jimin always had an air of grace to his person, but his actions sometimes faltered in his haste.

“I’m glad Lord Taehyung is aiding him. It won’t make it any less special, just more edible perhaps,” you laughed.

Sissel joined you, giggling. She then moved to open the box. You were met with soft white fabric that spilled over the edges beautifully. The sleeves were puffed, but pulled back in at the wrist. Delicate lace covered the bodice and a wide silk sash went around the waist line. You were speechless.

And most importantly, there was no corset to be seen.

“Highness, it’s beautiful. You’ll be a vision,” she gushed, almost squealing with excitement. You smiled fondly.

“Thank you Taehyung,” you whispered.

“Come come, time to get you dressed!” Sissel hurried. You quickly disrobed and stepped into the gown as your handmaiden adjusted the fabric accordingly. The material slipped on your skin, covering you with a beautiful design of lace.

Turning to the mirror you looked and almost balked at the front. It was lower cut, leaving your bust practically spilling from the fabric. Sissel was behind you, buttoning the dress. “Sissel wait a moment-oh!” you gasped as she pulled the ribbon tightly around your waist. It was similar to the feeling of a corset, but not nearly so constricting. You felt supported, but not suffocated.

Your chest lifted with the tightening of the material and you stared at it with uncertainty. Would this be entirely appropriate for you meeting with your husband?

“Hold on Madam! We’re still missing one part!” she smiled, rushing to the box. You turned with curiosity and saw a large necklace come undone before you.

“Did Lord Taehyung truly prepare all of this for me?” you asked.

“Well, he did converse with me about what you liked. And then he made suggestions on what his Highness would like as well. We came up with this. The lower neckline will be concealed with this my lady,” she assured.

You nodded and let her come by to fasten the jewels to your body. You watched as white sapphires and red diamonds covered your skin. They twinkled in the fading light as you noticed the sun was beginning to set. Gasping you ran over to your shoes and pulled them on quickly.

“My Lady!” Sissel tutted. “That is not the proper way to-”

“I don’t give a damn, I’m going to be late Sissel!” you yelled before heading down the stairs.

“My Lady we haven’t done your hair yet!”

Her voice faded into the background as you rushed down the stairs of the palace. Your grin was wide as you flew through the halls without restraint. Your lungs easily pulled in greedy amounts of air as you hurried through the corridors. The back garden was on the other side of the palace, making you bolt through the halls with fervor.

Jungkook walked into the hallway, seeing you running towards him at full bore. His eyes widened as he quickly threw himself against the wall to avoid your trampling speed. “My Lady! What’s wrong?!” he called after you.

“I’m going to be late!” you yelled, not waiting any moment longer before turning the corner. You laughed as you made it towards the final stretch.

Jimin was there in the pavilion waiting for you, and you would get to eat a meal he prepared for you! Just you!

The thoughts made you smile even wider.

Before you ran smack into the one person in this castle you feared...

Hoseok...

“My Lady,” he growled. “What is it that causes you to run with such haste?” he asked.

You scrambled to stand up, gasping from the force of your collison. “I beg your pardon, Hoseok. Jimin is waiting for me in the pavilion and I am going to be late!” you stated before moving to go around him.

But before you could, he gripped your wrist painfully tight.

“We are to leave in the morning, and you might never see that man again. Understand that this might be your last night with him,” he warned.

“It won’t be,” you scowled.

“Perhaps not, but you never know. Maybe while you’re gone his loneliness might overbear him. A mistress might be in order... Or, better yet, a consort?” he laughed.

A flush went to your cheeks. You knew Jimin wasn’t used to being with women. Taehyung had indulged you one night after a glass of wine too many and told you of his past.

How his mother was distant. The maids in the palace being the ones to raise him... His father was really the only one who showed him affection, so he really only knew love from other men. So when he grew, he found his urges to be placed not with women. He was terrified of the opposite sex. But, you have know a few whom lie with their fellow gender, and they don’t have fear for the opposing sex... You didn’t want to make generalizations about Jimin. You wanted for him to tell you, in his own time. But an odd feeling kept creeping back into your stomach. One doesn’t simply change a whole part of themselves at the drop of a hat. You didn’t want Jimin to feel he couldn’t be true to himself...

Hoseok smirked as you seemed to be lost in thought.

“Imagining losing your husband to his fellow man?” he sneered.

You swallowed hard. How did Hoseok know? Did Jimin make his preferences common knowledge?

You shook your head and glared at Hoseok. “I don’t believe that to be true, Jimin is a faithful husband and I trust him,” you declared.

“At your word, my lady,” he said, turning on his heel.

You began to head for the door when his chilling voice reached your ears once more. “I did promise to protect you with my life, Lady Y/N... But I didn’t say for how long,” he smirked.

A chill ran down your spine.

“If the witch’s power grows too much, I will have no choice but to end the bloodshed, with you,” he declared.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” you stated, monotone. “I am going to be late.”

You hurried through the door, letting the shiver of Hoseok’s word disappear as you saw your husband standing with his back to you. He was wearing a loose white shirt that was tucked into black trousers. His hair was blowing with the breeze, shining gold in the light.

“I feared you wouldn’t be coming,” Jimin sighed, turning around.

You almost laughed at his expression. Eyes bulging as they looked at you with unrestrained want. His eyes followed the dip of your throat to your bust, next to your waist and beautiful legs. His eyes then met yours, that were being shielded by your hair. You grinned and ran forward, wrapping your arms around his neck as he spun you around.

“Let me see you,” he whispered, holding your forearms and gazing at your appearance. “Heavens, you look like a vision.”

“You as well,” you complimented. “I love it when you don’t wear those suffocating tunics.”

“Mmm, I can wear nothing at all if that is what you desire my love,” he taunted.

“Enough of that,” you laughed. “What have you prepared for us?”

Jimin’s eyes lit up at the thought of impressing you with his meal. “Let me show you,” he urged, pulling you forward.

“On tonight’s menu, I have prepared a salmon fillet with lemon and rosemary. As well as garlic potatoes, mashed with chives. Next is a heavenly baked roll with fresh butter and salt. And for dessert,” he winked. “You can pick me, or this raspberry tart that Taehyung aided me with.”

“Oh my, Jimin it’s incredible,” you praised. He keened into your words like a happy feline, wrapping his arms around your waist.

“I am glad you’re impressed my dear, but perhaps you should taste it to be sure,” he encouraged. You nodded and went to sit down, not before Jimin pulled you in for a sweet kiss.

“You are impossible,” you laughed.

“Impossibly good looking, perhaps,” he teased. You rolled your eyes and let him push in your chair before settling down in his own across from you.

“Jimin, this is wonderful,” you smiled, taking a bite of the food he prepared.

“Truthfully? I was really nervous about it all to be honest,” he blushed. “I know you like fish, and that potatoes are one of your favorite foods, the raspberry tart was Taehyung’s idea.”

You nodded as you took another bite of the food. The salmon melted in your mouth, filling it with the salty and briny flavor of the sea. But the citrus from the lemon and herbal aftertaste of the rosemary cut it down beautifully. You smiled up at Jimin, swallowing another morsel.

“Your cooking is delectable. I’ll have to bake you one of my famous blueberry crepes next time,” you stated.

“Y/N,” Jimin whispered.

The joyful mood that was set suddenly seemed to turn cold. You frowned as you looked at him from across the table. “Jimin, what’s wrong?”

“I-I fear for your departure in the morning,” he stated. “I also fear of your safety without me with you.”

“I’ll be safe, Jimin. Hoseok will care for me,” you stated. You knew that Hoseok was dangerous, but for now he was the only person capable of taking you away.

“I am unsure of my trust in him, Y/N, I don’t want to lose you,” he croaked. Tears flooded his vision as he looked at you with heartbreak.

“Jimin,” you whispered, standing up and wrapping your arms around him tightly. He burrowed his face into your stomach and settled his arms around your waist. You pet his hair calmly, letting him hold you for as long as he needed. You knew his fear well, you felt it yourself.

Leaving Jimin was going to be the hardest thing you’d had to do up until now. You two haven't really been separated since your marriage to one another. Sure, when he first came to Taehyung’s castle there was a week where you hadn’t seen him. And when you first were married it seemed as though you never saw him.

But, he was always there. Now... Now he would be days away from you.

The thought made your throat close in worry, but you quelled it for now. Jimin was here in your arms now, and that’s what mattered. Him being here with you is what was important. You ran your fingers down his cheek, brushing away the tears that fell.

“Jimin, we should be having a nice dinner together, not crying about something that hasn’t happened yet. We’ll cry tomorrow, okay? Not now,” you smiled. Jimin looked up at you and wrapped you in his arms tightly.

“I love you, Y/N, with all of my heart,” he breathed.

Your eyebrows raised, before relaxing into a soft smile. “I love you too, Jimin. With everything I am...”

* * *

Hoseok watched the scene with mute interest. You and Jimin were rather cute together, he supposed. But, he had made a deal... One he wasn’t intent on failing.

But, as he looked at the pair of you, he couldn’t help but feel guilt.

His Prince, soon to be King, had finally found someone he loved... And he had to take her away from him.

“Remind you of something?” a silky voice whispered.

Hoseok turn and pulled his daggers from their secured pouches on his hips. “Morgana,” he grimaced.

“Now now, don’t look so surprised my boy,” she whispered.

“It isn’t wise of you to use so much magic in order to spy on your next meal,” Hoseok reprimanded.

“It isn’t wise to disrespect she who holds your future in her hands,” Morgana growled. Hoseok swallowed thickly before continuing.

“We move her tomorrow,” he stated. “To the abandoned castle towards the Elder Spire Grove in the East,” he revealed.

“Yes, I know it well. It was the place my love lived... This Jimin looks so much like him, I will be so thrilled when that trollop is dead,” she growled.

“I still cannot see why I must be the one to end her, why can’t you destroy the girl?” Hoseok asked.

“Well, it’s been a long while since I’ve had a fulfilling sacrifice. My magic is waning... But once you perform the sacrifice with her as the offering... My magic will be back in it’s full power. Then, I can bring back your wife and child,” she stated.

Hoseok swallowed thickly as he looked at you and Jimin once more. Jimin was his dear friend. Someone he cared for, but he took him away from his pregnant wife, and in doing so he wasn’t even there to hold his child upon its birth...

“Why tell me this?” he asked.

“Because you requested to know,” she responded.

“You never give up information about your magic willingly,” Hoseok glared. “Why the change of heart.”

“You always see the truth, don’t you?” she asked. “The reason I tell you is because you are indebted to me. Those daggers by your side are charmed with my magic. They strike down all your foes in battle because that is what I have claimed them to do. I believe that telling you these things will ensure your loyalty to me, because if not... Well... The graves of your wife and child will burn, their corpses will turn to ash and they will be lost in the depths of Purgatory for the rest of eternity,” she growled. “Do I make myself clear?”

Hoseok felt his heart clench at the thought of his family being at unrest...

“Yes, I understand,” he confirmed.

“Good,” she whispered. “I can’t wait to see the life drain from that wench’s eyes... I will have my Prince again. Even if I have to destroy every village, every citizen... Every whore... It will be done,” she declared, fading into a black mist and disappearing into the night.

Hoseok frowned as he saw Jimin pick you up and hold you in his arms. You laughed at something he said, head thrown back as Jimin leaned forward to capture your lips. He knew what true love looked like. He saw it with his wife, and he saw it here with you...

“I am truly sorry, the both of you,” he whispered...

* * *

The morning came, it always does.

You awoke to a knock at your door...

Sissel.

“Majesty, my Lady? It is time for Lady Y/N to leave,” she announced.

You rolled over, feeling Jimin’s hand brush your bare stomach. He’d managed to get it under your dressing gown in the night. Men truly were incorrigible.

“My Lady? Are you awake?”

“Yes, Sissel,” you answered.

“Hurry to dress! Father Jin requires you before departing!”

“Very good, Sissel!” Moving to get out of the bed, Jimin’s steel grip made you falter. Being hauled back into bed you huffed as he snuggling into your hair. His hands wrapped around your body, not letting you out of his grasp. “Jimin,” you whispered, petting his hair.

“Not yet, please not yet,” he begged.

“I have to go,” you breathed. “You know it, as well as I do...”

“Just a few more minutes, just lay with me for a few more minutes. I need to remember how warm you are in the morning,” he whispered, face buried in your neck.

“Jimin, please,” you whimpered. He kissed your jaw before placing a soft kiss on your nose.

“Hurry, before I bring you back to bed with me,” he warned, releasing you.

You quickly went to your wardrobe and picked a warm dress that would help you stave off the chill in the Northern reaches of the Kingdom. Standing behind your changing screen you got dressed.

You heard your bed creak and knew Jimin must’ve gotten up to dress as well. You recognized the familiar sound of his wardrobe opening as he pulled different pieces of attire out.

Mimicking him you got into your clothing, only to realize the dress you selected had buttons on the back of it. Sighing in annoyance, you peaked your head around the screen to see Jimin just pulling on his shirt.

Flushing you quickly moved back behind your cover. Holding your hand over your racing heart you tried to keep your cheeks from turning an obscene red color.

“J-Jimin?” you called out.

“Yes, Y/N?” he answered.

“Can you help me with my dress?” you asked, trying to keep your tone from wavering.

“If you’d like me to,” he stated, coming closer.

“I need you to button it for me, please,” you requested, moving your hair to the side so he could gain access to the fasteners at the back. Jimin took a sharp breath in before placing his hands on your hips.

He placed a delicate kiss to your spine, causing you to shiver in pleasure. His lips moved up your back, over your shoulder then to the base of your neck. You didn’t fight him as he nudged your head to the side, opening up your collar and throat for him. He placed gentle love bites and licks to your delicate skin.

Just as he was about to claim your lips in another kiss, a knock came to the door once more. “Lady Y/N, we really must go!” Sissel urged.

“A moment!” you called back.

Sissel’s steps echoed as she no doubt went to get you more time.

“Here,” Jimin said, doing the buttons up at the back for you. He placed one last kiss on your neck before moving away from your body.

“Thank you,” you flushed.

“Do you need help getting your shoes on?” he asked, looking at them with a raised brow.

“If you think you can control your wandering lips,” you giggled. Jimin’s eyes turned dark.

“I hardly think I can,” he breathed.

You rolled your eyes and went to sit down on the bed. It was still warm from Jimin’s body resting in it for the night. You lifted your foot into Jimin’s grasp as he pushed the shoe onto your foot gently, taking care not to hyperextend your joints. You smiled and ran your fingers through his sleep ridden hair. He bit his lip as he ran his hands up your calf.

Sweet kisses were placed to your bare legs, making you hiss in desire. Jimin’s plush mouth traced along your skin, oblivious to the world outside. You shuddered at the sensation of his warm palms on your flesh. Sighing you tugged Jimin’s head back slightly, smiling as a soft moan left his mouth.

“You’re one to talk about wandering limbs,” he scoffed. You laughed, fixing his slightly messy locks. Bringing your hand down to cradle his cheek, Jimin leaned into your touch. Next he picked up your other shoe and pushed it onto your other foot. Jimin moved and buckled them on, tying cute little bows into the laces.

You could tell Jimin was trying to buy you both time...

“Jimin...?” you whispered.

“I know,” he answered, looking at your knee.

“Walk with me?” you asked.

“Absolutely,” he responded.

Helping you stand up, he took your hand and pulled your arm around his. The pair of you walked out of your bedroom. It would be the last time you were there for a long while. You weren’t sure the next time you’d see Jimin... How long until you were able to hold him in your arms?

Jimin was in a similar situation. His heart was pounding in his chest as the two of you made your way down the staircase. Leading you towards your departure, made him feel woozy. The pair of you made it to the bottom of the landing and Taehyung was waiting for the pair of you.

“Good morning Lady Y/N, your Majesty,” he bowed.

“Taehyung,” Jimin greeted.

“Taehyung,” you smiled.

The Lord of the Castle looked to your husband. “May I?” he asked.

“If she agrees,” he answered smoothly.

You shook your head before letting Jimin go and giving Taehyung a big hug. He held onto you, rubbing your back to comfort you. “These will be long days ahead of you, but know we are always here. And we will come to get you again,” he promised.

“Thank you Taehyung, you have become a dear friend of mine,” you acknowledged. He pulled back as Father Jin entered with Jungkook and Yoongi.

“My Lady,” they all echoed, lowering their heads in a bow.

“Please, you’ve never used such formalities with me before. Don’t start now,” you insisted.

“Perhaps they should, you will be Queen one day,” Taehyung mentioned.

Your face soured. “But I don’t want them to bow to me because of that,” you whispered.

“Enough with your crisis, come here,” Jungkook ushered you into a big embrace. You huffed from the strength behind his arms, but patted his back affectionately. Yoongi came next and gave you a gentle hug, rubbing your shoulders as he pulled away.

“I’ll miss you, please be safe on your journey,” he insisted.

“Thank you, both of you.”

Father Jin came forward and hugged you tightly. “Lady Y/N, I believe this will be one of the hardest goodbyes in my life,” he announced, voice watery.

You felt similar as a wave of emotion came over you. Father Jin had been your rock when you were lonely. A wise mind to pick when you weren’t sure of yourself. He was so kind and had helped you so much during your time here in the Royal family.

The side door that lead to the carriage house opened, revealing Hoseok standing there before you. Father Jin let go of you and stepped away. You moved towards Jimin and wrapped your arms around his. Just being near Hoseok made you nervous. How could it not? If you considered all that had transpired between the two of you in the past...

“Father Jin, the carriage is ready. Lady Y/N, are you prepared?” he asked, raising a brow.

It was time, Jin was going to give you and Hoseok his cloaking spell. And then you would be off, away from this palace that you had begun to call your home. The small family you’d began to build would be left behind...

Your heart was racing.

“Hoseok, Lady Y/N, please come towards me,” Father Jin requested. You did so, letting Jimin’s hand go.

Hoseok followed suit and stood next to you.

Father Jin lifted his hands and brought out a salve that had a slight blue tint to it. He dipped his finger in the salve and brushed the mix over your temples and the back of your neck. He did the same to Hoseok.

Next he pulled a vial out and took out the dropper. “Please, open your mouths,” he asked.

Hoseok did so. You watched as his face scrunched up in displeasure. “Damn, that’s bitter,” he complained.

“This liquid will make sure that your bodily functions are hidden from any kind of magic detection. The salve I applied to your heads and necks hides any thoughts or emotions. And one more item for each of you,” he announced, turning to a butler that was holding a large box.

He presented you with a necklace, simple in design. A basic silver chain with a pendant on it that had a bright red stone in the middle. You raised an eyebrow at it then looked to Father Jin. “What is this?” you asked.

He motioned for you to turn around, which you did so. The gem laid heavily upon your throat, making you look down in surprise.

“A fail safe,” Jin explained. “If my other methods fail to keep you hidden, these are seal with magic at a similar caliber to Morgana’s... It will be difficult for her to be in the presence of these gems, seeing as how they are blessed with light magic. It is old, and rarely seen anymore, it was a gift from the old Gods to humanity before our heavenly father birthed us anew. It was taught to me, and now I am betraying my oath to God for this,” he whispered. “Please, do not take these off, no matter what you do.”

Hoseok came forward and Father Jin latched his necklace around his neck as well. He seemed nervous when the chain was secured, holding it with an expression that you couldn’t decipher.

“One more thing, I need to activate the enchantments. Hold still, the both of you.” Hoseok and you did as requested. Soon, Jin started speaking in an odd sounding tone. “I implore the words of the Gods of old. Here my plea and come to my bidding. Through my form, project your light into the talismans I have prepared for you. Please, use them to protect these individuals with your magic. By thy radiance, I ask of you to make home in these gems of pure starlight. And cast out any darkness that may encounter your path. This is my request, at my word. Expel!”

The room swirled with air as light radiated from your necklaces. The gem was burning hot against your skin, and you gasped. Holding it you could feel your skin underneath burning. Father Jin collapsed to the floor. Jungkook and Yoongi rushed over to check his breathing. You looked at him with worry.

“Is he alright?” you asked, getting closer.

“Yes, he’s fine. Surely this kind of magic takes a toll on the body. We’ll take him to rest, be safe highness. We will be praying for your safe return to us,” Jungkook smiled. Him and Yoongi lifted Father Jin into their arms and headed towards the infirmary.

You watched as they disappeared down the hall, heart hammering in your ribs. All of this, to keep you safe... Father Jin betraying God just so that you could be concealed from this witch who wanted your death. It was overwhelming to be cared for so deeply by others.

“We need to go,” Hoseok stated, pulling you from your daze.

“Yes,” Taehyung agreed. “The carriage will take you to the village of Caldone. Once there, I have arranged for horses to take you the rest of the way to the Northern Palace of Kings. Hoseok, have you gotten word from the individuals in the town near the castle?”

“Yes, they said they’d be pleased to help their future Queen with anything she needed,” Hoseok confirmed.

“Very well. Time is of the essence, let’s get you gone,” Taehyung urged.

Quickly turning to Jimin your heart stopped.

His eyes were teary, a soft smile on his face.

Hoseok had grabbed your arm, pulling you towards the door. You moved like a doll, limp as he ushered you through the exit. Jimin’s face became further away from you, tears becoming invisible as you stumbled down the steps.

“My Lady please take caution,” Taehyung said, gripping your elbow to support your blunder.

Jimin walked forward, seeming to be following you without knowing it. You wanted to hold him once more before you left. Just one more time. One last kiss.

“Please,” you whispered, reaching out for him. The guards had already gathered around you, helping disguise you and Hoseok from any peering eyes. Taehyung had taken his place beside Jimin as the flurry of activity went forward.

Hoseok climbed inside of the carriage, waiting for you to take his hand to get in as well. He was glad you weren’t looking at his face, because it would’ve blown everything he’d been working for...

Your face was distraught as you looked around at the guards. A sour taste settled itself on Hoseok’s tongue. He knew who you were looking for.

Jimin...

It was so obvious how much you cared for your husband, it made his heart lurch in pain. He knew that delirious feeling. The whirlwind love placed in your mind and heart, and how gut wrenching it felt when ripped away from it. He knew how panicked you must be. He could grant you one last look at him, before you departed...

Forever.

“PART!” Hoseok screamed.

The guards seemed shocked. They all froze and stared at him. You didn’t even look at Hoseok. Your eyes were trying to locate your husband. “Sir, what seems to be the issue?”

“You’re smothering our Lady, give her room to breathe,” Hoseok demanded.

Seeming to understand they all separated and opened up a pathway to the carriage door. Slowly, you were being pulled into the cabin by Hoseok. The second your eyes were off Jimin, your heart began to squeeze painfully.

You found his face out of the back window of the vehicle. His eyes were staring straight at you. Taehyung was standing next to him dutifully. Jimin gave another soft smile, but you could tell it was forced. His teeth were showing too much, eyes red with tears.

A sudden lurch made your body slip. The horses began moving at a gentle pace. Jimin’s face got smaller as you traveled further from him. Your breathing became harsh as you pressed your hand against the glass of your window. Jimin seemed to be mouthing something. You couldn’t quite make it out.

“What?!” you shouted, making Hoseok turn to you.

“My Lady?” he asked.

“Stop, please stop the carriage!” you yelped.

“My lady we really must leave, dawn has almost broken,” Hoseok urged.

“STOP THE DAMN CARRIAGE RIGHT NOW!” you screamed. The horses whinnied as the driver pulled on the reigns. You fell off your seat and hit the floor, but you couldn’t feel the pain.

“My lady!” Hoseok yelled, but you couldn’t hear him.

Pulling on the handle you ripped the door open and scrambled off the floor and onto the grass below.

Jimin watched the horses stop, and his brows furrowed.

What had happened?

“Majesty, what are you-”

“Jimin!” you screamed, picking up your skirts and running. Jimin’s heart slammed against his chest so hard he could feel it in his throat.

“Y/N!?” he yelled back, starting to jog towards you.

Taehyung and Hoseok watched in awe as the scene played out.

Your hair flew behind you as you ran. Your legs hurt, but it didn’t matter. You needed to say it. You needed to tell him before you left, just once more. He needed to know.

Jimin matched your pace and began running like a man possessed. He feet were carrying him to you, without being told to. It was like instinct to run for you now. Something he couldn’t have dreamed of happening when first married to you.

It all seemed to silly now. Those months of distance, your reconciliation. Now, a love that burned him from inside out. And he wouldn’t change it for the world. He wouldn’t want it to be anyone other than you. It couldn’t be.

He was closer now, eyes sparkling with tears that you could see now. Clear as day.

“Jimin!” you cried out, wrapping your arms around his neck.

Lifting you into his arms, Jimin cradled your head gently. His chest was heaving with the effort from running, but you were there in his arms. God it was going to be Hell to be without you. So Jimin held onto you tightly. Kissing your face as you bawled like a child. “I love you! I love you so much, I’m going to miss you.”

Jimin’s voice cracked as he tried to soothe you. “My love, I know, I know I love you too. My darling, ssshhh, it’s alright. I love you.”

You felt his shoulders shaking at the force of his cries. You tangled your fingers in his hair and brought your mouth to his. Jimin held your face, making sure that you felt every ounce of love he harbored in his soul for you. Every inch of his being belonged to you.

He’d never been more certain of anything.

He was your’s. And he always would be. You clung to him as you kissed, making the most of this moment. It would be the last for a long while, and it needed to be secured in your memory. How his lips were so plush against your own. His hands held fast around your waist, keeping you against him.

Hoseok was stunned at the sight as he hung out of the door. At first he thought this would be simple. Kill the girl, get his family back. The Prince would be free from a marriage he never wanted, and he could be reunited with his wife and child...

Everything would be righted if you were out of the picture...

But seeing this...

How deeply the two of you cared for one another. The thought of ripping you apart weighed heavy like a slab of stone in his stomach. If he followed through with this... would he be any better than the witch that took his family from him?

These thoughts swirled in his mind.

Because looking at the two of you now, he knew his answer.

He knew what he would be doing...

And he wasn’t sure he could do it anymore...

Gazing up at Jimin you wiped his tears from his eyes. “Jimin, I love you so much. Please, come see me as soon as you can,” you whispered.

“To the moment, like I promised,” he breathed.

“I’m going to miss you,” you whimpered, holding his face in your palms. He turned and kissed your palm, remembering the sensation. Committing every inch of you to memory.

“And I you, my darling,” he breathed. “But, I will see you again. This is not a goodbye, it is merely a momentary parting. Because one morning, you’ll see me. Coming up the road to hold you in my arms once more. Even if I have to fight the witch on the doorstep, you can be assured that I will be there. For nothing will stop me if it means getting to you,” he declared.

Taehyung felt a stray tear run down his cheek at the display before him.

Finally his friend had found it. The love he deserved from a person. It didn’t matter whether it came from a male, female or a dog. The loyalty, compassion and dedication you had for him was powerful enough to brave any storm.

He smiled as Jimin took your hand, leading you towards the carriage once more. Hoseok straightened as his future King approached.

“Majesty, I apologize for not giving you both proper time to say your farewells,” Hoseok bowed.

“Take care of her, Hoseok, I’m entrusting to you my greatest treasure in life.”

As Jimin took your hand, he lifted it to Hoseok’s. You gripped his own with such certainty, and Hoseok felt unadulterated shame run through his body. What would his dearly departed wife think of this? Would she approve of his behavior towards a woman whom had done nothing but merely fallen in love...

If that was a crime, he was guilty as well.

“I will do as you command, Majesty,” Hoseok agreed. Pulling you into the carriage, Hoseok watched as Jimin shut the door.

He held his hand up to the glass. And the assassin watched as you pressed your palm against his. Your rings shone in the rising sunlight and Hoseok looked down at his own, shimmering in a similar fashion.

The buggy lurched once again, and Jimin’s palm slipped away from the glass. However, your hand remained there...

Even after Jimin and the Castle had faded away, your hand stayed on the glass...
