Surprise Food Test
aos!Pavel Chekov x gn!science!reader
Trigger Warnings: fluff; minor swearing
A/N: I wasn't sure whether to write the reader as part of the medical staff or as a part of the science crew, so I decided to flip a coin and got tails (science crew). I haven't had this proofread; apologies for any mistakes.

The Bridge always had something interesting happen from time to time.
That doesn't mean the sciences can't be just as interesting now and again as well.
You had mentioned to Pavel on your first date that you were planning on conducting an experiment involving one of the flora you had collected from a planet Enterprise recently visited.
That had been two weeks ago and he was getting more and more puzzled as to what was taking you forever to show him this experiment of yours.
At your workspace, you were conducting test number ten of your experiment while blaring music through headphones.
The music muffled Chekov approaching with some food for the both of you.
Seeing the meal in your peripheral vision, you jumped. "Fuck! Pavel," you hit his arm with the back of your hand, "don't scare me like that next time."
On the tray was two sandwiches, grilled cheese for him and [your fav sandwich] for you.
"So this is the experiment you've been working on?" Pavel took a quick glance at each test before turning to face you.
One by one, you went through each test thoroughly, Pavel taking small bites of his grilled cheese so he could pay attention to every last detail.
Realizing you had yet to touch your sandwich, he gently slid your plate closer to you and asked if he could try something.
Watching the navigator see how the flora reacts to different beverages certainly provided some interesting results.
Good thing replicators exist because by the time Pavel was done, there was a small mess.

The End
(Sorry if it seems short. I wasn't completely sure how long to make it, so I thought I'd leave bits to the imagination, especially the ending.)
