I didn’t mean it

I Didnt Mean It

Warnings and whatnots: ANGST. I love hate myself some Dadneto angst. I might do a part 2 but depends on the responses I get from this one.

People don’t expect that the Magneto was related to Peter Maximoff. They weren’t alike. Peter was a rambunctious kid who ran on impulse, while Magneto was a methodical man who thought through his actions. Even Peter himself was surprised at the revelation. He wasn’t sure that his father would quite believe him. Who would?

“Peter!”

Peter jolts up, looking up to see Erik staring daggers into him.

After everything, Erik decided to take up on his old friend’s offer. He stayed at the mansion, becoming the resident physic teacher. Much to Peter’s dismay. Peter wanted nothing more but to be as far as possible from him. Yet, for a man who can practically run anywhere, he never seemed to be able to run away from Erik. It started messing up his sleep schedule. He couldn’t sleep thinking about Erik and all the possible reactions to Peter telling him about their relationship. Would he be pissed? Overjoyed? Disgusted? He wouldn’t be surprised if Erik didn’t want to accept it. Erik didn’t seem to take any interest in him anyway. Peter was a handful and he was sure Erik didn’t want someone like him as a son. Still, he didn’t want to cause Erik to leave. Erik was loved by many in the mansion. It would be unfair for Peter to just shoo him away.

“Yes sir?” Peter asks uncertainly. He looks around, realising people were snickering at him. It was the third time this week he had fallen asleep in Erik’s class. Erik raises his eyebrow expectantly. Peter wanted nothing more but to run away.

The bell rings.

Peter sighs in relief as Erik announces that class was dismissed and that they were free to go. He quickly packs his things up.

“Not you Peter. I would like to have a word with you.”

Peter stands frozen, staring at his chemistry textbook. He didn’t dare raise his head, even when the last person left the class; leaving Erik and Peter alone in the room. Peter glances at the door. He could run out in time.

“If you’re thinking of running off, I’ve bolted the door shut.”

Peter stares in disbelief at Erik Lehnsherr. Erik’s face was unreadable.

“I’m… I’m sorry sir but I… I have to get to the lab,” Peter says.

“Sit down Peter. I’ll tell Professor McCoy you’ll be a bit late.”

Peter obeys hesitantly. Erik pulls a chair and sits in front of the silver-haired boy.

“Is everything alright Peter?” He asks. His voice surprisingly soft. Peter gulps.

“I’m fine,” Peter answers, faking a smile.

“Don’t lie to me Mr. Maximoff.”

“I’m not-“

“Peter I’ve seen your grades for physics from before my time here. They were amazing. Yet when I’m here, your grades have dropped. You’ve fallen asleep in my class thrice already, and that’s only this week.”

Peter gulps. How the hell was he going to say that he couldn’t focus due to the fact he was too busy worrying about what Erik would think of him? He glances at the window. He could jump from it, it wouldn’t be the first time. If he ran from the door and jumped, with his superspeed, he would be fine.

“Ever since i’ve gotten here, you have been avoiding me. You rarely talk to me after class and don’t think I don’t notice you immediately changing your route when you see me.”

“I-”

“You see me as a murderer don’t you?”

“No! No, of course not!” Peter shouts, surprising both himself and Erik.

“Don’t lie to me!” Erik answers back. “Why else would you avoid me like the plague!”

“That doesn’t matter! You can’t just assume what I think!”

Peter didn’t know where this anger came from. It was some deep and hidden fury that laid siege in his heart. It was like a dragon that had slumbered peacefully in him but had been awoken abruptly.

“I saved your life back there in the Pentagon! Did you forget that!”

“Oh come on we all know Charles and the others were the one who managed to convince you!”

“CAN YOU STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS!” The voice rings around the empty classroom. Peter clenches his fist, staring defiantly at Erik. Erik’s eyes widen, not expecting the sudden outrage coming from the young boy.

“Peter I-“

“NO- WHY DO YOU KEEP ASSUMING HOW I FEEL? I KEEP AVOIDING YOU? YOU NEVER TRY AND TALK TO ME. I’VE FALLEN ASLEEP SO MANY TIMES IN YOUR CLASS AND YET THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU’VE ASKED ME WHY!”

“I… Peter what-“

“AND THATS ONLY BECAUSE OF CHARLES. I KNOW WHAT YOU CALL ME. A RAMBUNCTIOUS KID WHO RUNS ON IMPULSE!”

Erik’s eyes widen. How had he heard that? He remembered that conversation. He was talking to Charles in the garden. He didn’t know how but the topic of Peter Maximoff started. He didn’t know that Peter had heard that. He didn’t even mean it in a bad way. He liked the fact Peter was like that. It reminded him of his younger self. Was that why he felt a random gush of wind pass through the both of them after he had said that?

“I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY MY MOM DECIDED TO FALL FOR YOU! YOU’RE A TOTAL JERK!”

Peter didn’t realise the hot tears that had started to escape his eyes. He quickly gathers up his belongings. He slings his bag over his shoulder before walking his way to the door, tears rolling down his face. Erik was left speechless, opening the bolted door for Peter wordlessly.

Peter’s mom had fallen for him? Is that why he hadn’t been focusing in class? But how? He had never met the woman before? Hadn’t he?

Promise

Promise

Summary: It's Erik's turn to take care of young Peter, but he's out on a business trip. Again. Warnings and whatnots: Kid!Peter. Dadneto. Not following original story. Eric is practically a diplomat. Charles and Raven being Peter’s unofficial guardians .

Charles stands uncomfortably in front of his best friend's ex's house. He already rung the doorbell, he could sense the disheveled woman nearing the door. He puts on an awkward smile as the door opens.

"Charles," She says, staring at the young man in front of her. "Erik's not here?" She asks, but before Charles could answer a small gust of wind came running up.

"Papa!" The voice says loudly, excitement and happiness practically bursting from the young silver haired boy. His demeanor immediately changed as he saw his father's best friend standing in front of the doorway. "Where's papa?"

Charles kneels down, facing the young boy who was hiding behind his mother's leg. "You're father is on a business trip right now... He'll be back in two days, so in that time your father asks your Aunt Raven and Uncle Charles to take care of you!" Charles says, smiling softly at the young boy. The boy mumbles an okay before letting go of his mother's pant leg and taking the hand of his father's best friend.

~

Erik hated his job. No, he despised it.

Ever since he got this bloody job, he had missed most if not all his time with Peter. This time it was no different. He was supposed to be in America, with Peter. Taking care of his only child and son. His only family. Yet here he was, in France in a dull meeting with some businessman.

The meeting was adjourned and he quickly gathered up his things and left the room. Not caring to speak nor network with the other people in the room. His grip on his briefcase tightens as he sees his boss' assistant leaning against the doorway. He approaches the woman, his face showing no emotion. She smiles at him.

"You will be very happy to hear what I have to say."

~

Peter laid down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. The door to his room opens and he sits up. A blonde woman stands in his doorway, a sympathetic smile etched on her face.

"Do you want to eat something, kid?"

Peter didn't respond, just shaking his head. Raven walks towards Peter, sitting down on the edge of his bed. "It'll be fine. In two days he'll be back."

"He's never here when I come here..." Peter mumbles. His eyes staring into Raven's. Her heart practically broke in half as she saw the broken look on the young boy's face. "Come here," She mutters to him, wrapping her arms around him. Peter sobs.

Raven knew that Erik wanted to see Peter but his work wouldn't allow it. She wished for once, that Erik could just come and comfort Peter.

~

Erik walks off the plane, a small smile on his face. Internally, he was bursting with happiness. His boss had let him go early. He could see Peter today. He could see his son today!

He walks over to his best friend who was standing near his car. He had called him the night before telling him about the news. He had planned out a whole day with Peter with Charles the night before. He hugged his best friend, smiling softly.

"Everything is running smoothly," Charles says, pulling back. Erik smiles. "Let's go. We should not be late."

~

Peter sits quietly in the passenger seat of Raven's car. "Where are we going, Auntie Raven?" He asks. Raven smiles, putting a finger to her lips.

"It's a secret." She smiles.

She pulls her car into the parking lot of a local diner. She leads a confused Peter into it, smiling to everyone in the diner.

"Hey speedy!" A familiar voice calls out to Peter, he looks up immediately catching the eye of his father. Peters mouth hung open before he ran up to the man. Erik sits shocked at the booth he was sitting at. He looks at Charles incredulously, before wrapping his arms about the young boy. He lifts up the young boy, seating him next to him.

Peter's lips quiver as he stares at Erik. He thought that Erik was going to not come home. He thought he wouldn't see him again.

"Hey, hey, hey, why are you crying?" Erik asks, wiping the tears off his son's face.

"I thought you would never come... I thought you left me..." Peter mumbles into Erik's shirt. Erik stares down at Peter, his lips pursed as he looks at Charles. His eyes were tearing up.

Peter thought he would've left him. Peter thought he had abandoned him.

"I would never do that son. I would never leave you," Erik says, kissing the young boy's forehead.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Confess N’ Run!

Confess N Run!

You were Peter’s best friend, though… you always wished you were more. Yet, he never seemed that interested in you until a certain cold day.

Pairings: peter maximoff x reader

Warnings and whatnots: Friends to lovers. Angst. Fluff.

You walked in the cold winter, blowing into your hands which did basically nothing. The wind blew at you. You huffed, angry that you decided to go out today.

Suddenly, you got a call on your phone. You clicked your tongue, annoyed, as you answer the call.

“Hello? I’m kinda busy right now.” You say as you continue thrudging in the cold winter.

“Wow, I was just going to ask if you wanted company.” A familiar male voice says.

Peter.

You hadn’t even checked who was calling you but of course it was Peter. Your best friend. You’ve been friends since childhood and you absolutely loved the guy… maybe in more ways than he loved you… but it was alright, you were still his friend and he was still yours.

“What- What do you mean?”

Suddenly a colder gust of wind hits your side. You shiver as you look and see a bundled up Peter, standing beside you. He gives you a lopsided smile. You roll your eyes at him, though you were smiling under your scarf.

“Hi Pete. Nice of you to join me.”

He gives you a smile, touching your shoulder which sends a jolt throughout your entire body. You couldn’t tell if it was from the cold or from him…

“Mind if I walk you back?” He asks grinning ah you as you start walking. You didn’t even say anything as he quickly follows you. The walk back was quieter than usual. You blamed it on the cold when you knew it was probably because you were too nervous to talk to your long time crush, even if he was your current best friend.

How embarrassing, liking a boy who you see every day but only thinks of you as a friend.

You shiver, not knowing if it was from the cold wind blowing on you or from the sudden company of your crush.

“Are you alright?” Peter asks, breaking the silence. You look up from the ground which you have been staring at to avoid the cold wind. You give him a perplexed look.

“Cold.” you say as an explanation.

“Cold? It’s not even that cold!” Peter says, walking a circle around you full of energy. You roll your eyes at him. Ignoring him as you try to move away. The cold was getting to you, you clasps your hands together, rubbing them together and blowing on them. A futile attempt to maintain heat.

Suddenly, you feel a sudden weight on your shoulders. You straighten up and notice a new jacket has appeared on your shoulders. It was big and silver in colour, a plethora of patches decorating its sleeve. You look from the jacket to the now jacket-less Peter.

“Pete…” You start before he shuts you up by punching your shoulder.

“ ‘s alright, I can’t let my girl get cold now, can I?” He says, giving you a large grin and laughing to himself.

My girl.

My.

His

Could he? No… You ignore it, maybe he just meant my girl best friend or something… You weren’t his type…

Before you could do anything, he puts his baby blue beanie on your head. He gives you a giant smile as he did it. The smile. That smile that made you fold every time you saw it. Oh how beautiful was he!

You admired him as he came closer to fix up the beanie on your head. Your eyes fixed on him as he fits the beanie on your head. His hair was mess-ied with cowlicks here and there, yet, it added to his charm. Your face turns red as you notice how close you were to each other.

His eyes wander down to you. His eyes that carried so much joy and emotion. They were calm at that second, no hint of hidden energy. He stops adjusting the beanie, looking at you. He gives you a small smile before going back to pushing your hair into the beanie. You blush, and you swore you saw a small hint of blush taint his cute face.

There’s no possible way…

You quickly avert your eyes. Deep in thought of the sudden hope he just gave you. Was he playing with your feelings? You were pulled back to the reality to the sound of your name being called. You look up at him, humming in response. He gives you a small smile.

“I love you.”

He brings your forehead to his lips and gives a quick peck, before you could do anything he had run off to God knows where.

You were left standing in the cold snow, on your house’s street. Confused and bewildered on the scene that had unfolded in front of you. You stand, frozen in shock.

He kissed you.

HE kissed YOU.

You pull his jacket closer as you continue walking, grumbling that you’ll have to go out soon again to find the man who had just confessed and run.
