the fact that one of the only good fuck Bella had in the brothel was a priest is the funniest thing in the movie to me
so actually i am a Luca Guadagnino and Yorgos Lanthimos fan first then a girl second.
Absolutely love how Mr. Wedderburn is just raging and pissed while Bella does not give a fuck and is just looking at him like she is analyzing his behavioral patterns
Probably Poor Things and The Glory are the only two pieces of media where I have clapped at the ending, mainly because of how satisfyingly beautiful the endings were
The slow zoom in to the general's face staring at the camera was some creepily funny shit
Planning to revisit Poor Things today, before going to see the film

I watched Poor Things in the theater the other day and HOLY FUCK WAS IT AMAZING. As I was watching it, I remember being mesmerized by the world building and the characters and mostly from the fact that this was a real movie, like an actually *real* movie. And not only was it real in the sense that the characters and the emotions they went through were extremely relatable, but also in the way that it captured the entirety of the human spirit and essence and it portrayed things that nobody ever wants to talk or hear about, yet everybody experiences. The costumes, the acting, the comic relief, the philosophy, the fucking filmography, the directing, it was truly art. My favourite scene was the one where Harry takes Bella to Alexandria. That's when Bella first finds out about the suffering that comes with human existence by looking at the poor people and their dead children. Her worldview is completely shattered, yet pain and suffering are the most fundamental parts of personhood and she must acquire them. The film was unapologetically weird in all the right ways. I get that Lanthimos isn't for everyone but so far the bad reviews I have read seem to be written by people who did not understand the true concept of the film, which, as I perceive it, is simple and lies in being a human. The movie Poor Things is a must, from every possible angle and I strongly suggest to watch it at the theater, where it was intended to be watched.
