A/N: This is the first reaction I’ve written in a loooong time and the only one I’ve written for the boys thus far. That being said, enjoy all the softness uwu
Austin
This nerd would probably tap into his artistic side to try and convey his feelings for you. He’d work long and hard on a piece that would illustrate just how much he adores and cares for you rather than just hunker down and tell you verbally.
It had been a hot minute since you last got to spend some quality time with Austin. The two of you were usually attached at the hip, but over the course of the last week or so he had progressively been putting more and more distance between you and himself. It wasn’t as if he were doing so intentionally, he had just been significantly more busy than usual and didn’t have the time to do much more than work; the two of you still talked frequently, though, exchanging texts and staying on the phone for hours while you worked on your respective projects. From what you had gathered, Austin’s current enterprise was a personal one and had absolutely nothing to do with the remainder of the group or any upcoming work they had planned. Needless to say, this information did nothing more than further pique your interest, and you found that you simply couldn’t wait until you got to see him again so that you guys could catch up and you could finally see what he had been working so extensively on. It was as if your prayers had finally been answered because Austin texted you rather early on Saturday morning asking if you wanted to come over for a while. You were quick to say yes, and before long you were rolling out of bed and hurriedly getting ready, throwing on your shoes and darting out the front door of your home. You got to his place in record time and flung open the front door, offering quick pleasantries to Brandon and Caleb as you made your way toward Austin’s room. Raising your hand, you gently rapped on the door before pushing it open and stepping inside. He was seated at his desk and, upon hearing you enter, he turned to face you, beaming. “Hey.”
“Hey,” you hummed, sitting your self down on the edge of the bed. “Long time no see.”
“I know, I know. I’m sorry about that,” Austin started, rolling over to where you were. “I have something for you though.”
He was gingerly holding onto a slip of watercolor paper but the angle at which he was holding prevented you from seeing more than a brightly colored corner. He turned it face down before handing it over. “For me?” You asked as you took hold of the corner of the paper. He nodded. Turning it over, your eyes widened, an audible gasp falling from your lips as your gaze wandered over that page. He had captured your likeness on the canvas, delicate hues accentuating your features. Across the bottom of the page, he had scrawled “every inch of my being yearns to be yours. this is my love for you,” paying homage to one of Atticus’ poems. When you lifted your gaze you were met with Austin’s oh-so-sweet smile and you felt your heart skip a beat.
“Do you like it?”
“I love it,” you breathed.
“I love you.”
Carefully setting the painting aside, you cupped his face, leaning forward so that you could kiss the tip of his nose. “I love you too.”

Brandon
Brandon would probably be among the most level-headed of the boys. Given that the two of you have known each other for quite some time now and you’ve developed a pretty strong bond, the thought that admitting the held feelings for you would compromise your relationship would never really cross his mind and he’d honestly be pretty up-front about it.
The two of you would be seated on the roof of your house, drinks in hand as you sat in a comfortable silence, simply taking the time to admire the stars and enjoy one another’s presence. He had called earlier, saying that he needed to talk to you about something and, sensing that it might be fairly serious and he’d probably like to discuss whatever it was away from the others, you invited him over. Besides the soft chirp of cicadas, the only thing that filled your ears was the rhythmic sound of Brandon tapping his fingers against the side of the can in his grasp. “It’s beautiful out here,” you murmured, eyes darting across the vast expanse of star-speckled darkness above you and picked out constellations. “Not as beautiful as you."
Not entirely sure that you had heard him correctly, you hesitated to answer. "I— What?”
Shifting closer, he set his drink aside and reached out so that he could gingerly take hold of your hand. “You heard me,” he answered, lacing your fingers. He sucked in a deep breath, holding for a moment so that he could compose himself a bit before he spoke up once more. “Y/N…I like you. I have for a while now but I could never seem to find the opportunity to tell you.” He spoke slowly, carefully, making sure that the words that danced off the tip of his tongue illustrated the feelings he had held within for so long. “You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met. You’re beautiful in a way that I’ve never seen and I can’t help but feel drawn to you. From the moment I met you I knew that you were everything I wanted and so much more, and with every day that passes I fall a little harder.” His thumb stroked gently over your knuckles, a faint blush dusting itself across his cheeks. “If you’d have me, I’d love to be yours.”
You couldn’t help but smile, your own face flushing some in response to his words. Leaning over, you pressed a tender kiss to his cheek. “I’d love that more than anything.”

Edwin
This boy seems like he’d be as slick as they come but I feel like he’d be a bit on the shyer side. When he confesses, it’d be kind of out of the blue and as much of a surprise to him as it is to you.
You would have dropped by the group home to hang out with the boys, but after several hours of lounging around and idly chatting about this and that while the television ran in the background, Edwin would get up, saying something about going on a walk before he turned on his heel and stepped toward the door. “Wait up,” you called as you got up and made your way after him, figuring that he might like some company and deciding that you’d like to stretch your limbs as well. Waiting on the sidewalk, he watched as you pulled the front door closed and skipped down the steps. You bounded over to him excitedly, a bright smile gracing your lips as your arm curled around his own. Easing into his side, the two of you began to walk, a comfortable silence filling the air. It was easy to fall into the swing of things, to just go wherever your feet decided to carry you as you took in the shadows that cast themselves over everything as the sun began to set; you relished in the feeling of his warmth shielding you from the cold breeze that had kicked up. You turned your gaze downward, kicking at the small rocks that lay in your path. It wasn’t long before you and Edwin happened upon a small park, the equipment bare of any children given the weather and time of day. Releasing his hand, you scurried over to the swing-set and sat yourself down on one of the plastic seats; he took the one beside you. Several minutes passed like this - silence blanketing the area as you swung, Edwin quietly mulling over his thoughts and digging the toes of his shoes into the wood chips beneath his feet. “I love you,” he blurted.
“I love you too, Eddie,” you chimed in response, kicking your legs a bit so that you’d catch some more air.
“No, you don’t get it,” he’d answer, words seeming a tad rushed. Before he could think better of it, his lips were parting yet again and the words that bounced wildly about his mind were suddenly out in the open. “I don’t just love you, Y/N, I’m in love with you. You have stolen my heart and if I’m being completely honest I don’t mind. I only wish that you’d give me yours in exchange.” You stopped swinging then, eyes blowing wide in mild bewilderment. He sheepishly looked away, hand flying up to rub at the back of his neck. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything,” he murmured quietly.
He stood, making to move, but before he could take so much as a single step you were out of your seat and reaching for his hand. Your free hand moved to cup his cheek, turning his head so that your gazes met. “Don’t be,” you started, offering him a sweet smile as your thumb stroked gently over his cheekbone. “I’m glad you did. I really do love you too.”

Nick
Easily the calmest and most composed about the whole ordeal. While a bit dorky at times, Nick is extremely smooth and very put together, so he’d have absolutely no issue with telling you about the feelings he held. He’d more than likely just let the honey flow.
The two of you would have gone shopping with the rest of the group and when you got tired of idly picking through clothes on a rack, you would part from the others so that you could get frozen yogurt and roam around by yourselves for a while. Before long the two of you find yourselves seated on the edge of the large fountain resting just outside the malls’ entrance. You were sitting with the leftmost side of your body toward the water, making it so that you were facing Nick and still able to talk to him but could easily dip your fingers into the cool water as you listened to the gentle splash of it falling freely from the spout and hitting the pool below. You were so immersed in the sight of the ripples that your fingers in the water produced that you didn’t immediately realize that Nick had stopped talking and was simply staring at you, a soft smile taking form as he admired your features. When the feeling of someone’s gaze lingering on you finally registered in your mind you turned back toward him, a bit bewildered. “What?”
“Nothing, I’m just enjoying the view.” He propped his elbow up on his leg and rested his chin in the palm of his hand, a cheeky smile tugging the corners of his lips upward. Warmth crawled up the base of your neck, dusting itself across your cheeks in the form of a faint blush. “I- excuse me?”
The bewilderment housed within your expression made him chuckle. “You heard me. There’s nothing wrong with admiring such a stunning piece of art."
The compliments he offered did nothing more than make the flush on your cheeks darken exponentially, leaving you sputtering as you struggled to form a coherent response. Sure, his flirting wasn’t anything new, but it had always come off as something platonic and playful - he had never really laid it on quite this thick. The manner in which he spoke and the endearing way he looked at you had butterflies running rampant in your stomach. “Are you okay, Nick? You’re acting odd,” you managed after a few moments.
“I’m fine,” he started. “But I’d be a lot better if I were able to wake up to your beautiful face every morning.” Sitting up straight, he scooted closer and let his hand come to rest on your knee. “I’d love to take you out sometime, Y/N.”
Taking his hand and lacing your fingers, your body shifted nearer to his own so that you could rest your head on his shoulder. “I would love that, too.”

Zion
Caleb is a total meme when it comes to just about everything but I feel like opening up to you about his feelings would be something he’d take fairly seriously. He wouldn’t do anything over the top, but he’d probably mull over things a lot and try to find the perfect time and way to tell you how he felt.
Things with Caleb would have felt a bit off that day. He had called you about mid-morning to ask if you wanted to hang out that evening and watch movies but the manner in which he spoke and the way he phrased the question just seemed so different; it was more poised and than you would have anticipated considering the fact that he had asked to do something so casual. Nonetheless, you agreed, figuring the sudden change in his demeanor wasn’t something you should be overly concerned with. As you waited for the day to draw to a close you set about running errands and tidying up around your own home to pass the time. When it finally came time to head out you were more than ready, a heavy blanket and your favorite snacks in hands - Caleb had told you on the phone that he’d have everything taken care of but you still wanted to contribute. It didn’t take more than twenty minutes for you to get from your apartment to the house he shared with the other boys. Giving a quick knock before you opened the door, you shuffled inside and toed off your shoes, making your way into the living room. The furniture had been moved so that a large section of room was now available. In this unoccupied space, Caleb had used the couch cushions and an array of pillows and blankets to construct a sizable fort. He has even gone so far as to strategically string some fairy lights around the room to help create a comfortable atmosphere - it was clear to see that he had put quite an effort into the evening. Upon closer inspection you found that, save for yourself, the house appeared to be completely empty, meaning that the others were off doing something and you and Caleb had the place to yourselves for a while. "Caleb?” You called out as you shuffled further into the room.
A messy mop of brown-blond hair suddenly appeared from the opening of the fort. “Hey, I didn’t hear you walk in.” He pushed the blanket that covered the entrance aside, motioning for you to join him. You complied without hesitation, sinking to your knees so that you could crawl in beside him.
“Where are the boys?”
He gave a short shrug in response as if to say that he didn’t know either. “All they said was that they’d be back later.”
You nodded in understanding, shifting closer so that you could share your blanket and the snacks that you had brought along. The position of the television in regards to the opening of the fort was perfect and made it so that the two of you could watch the movies you had picked without issue. The two of you had blown through two full films and were part way through another before Caleb paused the movie and turned to face you. “Can I talk to you about something?”
"Of course, you know you don’t need to ask,” you answered as you shifted your gaze over to him.
“I’ve been thinking a lot lately,” he started, looking a bit bashful. It was rather cute if you were being honest, and your heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
“About?” You pressed.
“About us, Y/N. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love you, if I said I didn’t want you. I can’t even sleep without seeing you in my dreams.”
Caleb had begun to ramble a bit, cheeks flushing as he spilled his heart to you. He was barely able to ask if you’d like to go out with him before you were cupping his face and pulling him into a sweet kiss, effectively silencing him. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”
