"You remind me of a diamond."

"Um, thank you? May I ask how?"

"You're shiny, admired, very expensive-"

"Excuse me?"

"-and you reflect the people around you."

"… I'm sorry what?"

"Diamonds have no natural color, darling. They can only reflect the colors around them, much like you do with the people around you."

"Okay I know that was supposed to be insulting, but that is one of the sickest burns I think I've ever heard."
