Summary: is what the title says, I wrote this when thinking about when I was younger how I had a really hard time accepting that I’m bi, and I still haven’t told any of my family coz they’re homophobic so I expressed myself through this. Thankyou sm for reading 💛

She knew she liked you, in the same way that she had liked men in the past, but she didn’t know how to feel in regards to it. Her parents were very opinionated when it came to all the sexualities that were now on the spectrum.

Natasha had always been an ally, it was hard for her to accept that she may have been more. Her tongue wetted her dry lips as she saw you walk towards her, she didn’t know what to say, nor to do as you went in to hug her. Eventually her arms wrapped around you also, she breathed in your vanilla perfume, finding herself to quite like it.

“So… have you thought about what I said?” Thought about it?! It was all that was on her mind! She was definitely flattered that someone as attractive as yourself found yourself wanting to move forwards with her, and she knew she shouldn’t have felt ashamed for wanting the same thing deep down, but she couldn’t help her overreactive emotions.

It had been built into her, bred even. And whilst she had shook the old fashioned alterations from her mind and became a part of the new world that the latest generation accepted and brought into light, she couldn’t admit that she was a part of the LGBT. It wasn’t due to anything of the such that her parents would assume, she was fearful of what they would think, not to mention that coming out would be a shocker to the many people that she knew.

“Yes, I did.” A gulp swallowed down her throat as she ogled helplessly at you, her hand brushing back some of her red hair out from her face. She was crazily nervous, she usually didn’t have a problem putting on a facade to hide her true emotions, but the last thing that she ever wanted to do to you was to lie. That was something that would be red in the ledger of the rest of her life. “I- um, I can’t y/n. I’m really sorry but-“

“It’s okay.” No it wasn’t, she could see how broken you were by her reaction, though rather than becoming mad by it you were accepting, which was one thing that her family was not, excluding her little sister Yelena. It made her heart swarm by the realisation that the last thing that you were wanting to do was to push anything with her, you respected her view point and hardship, and as quiet as it was, she came to the conclusion that it wasn’t what she wanted.

Natasha wanted you to shout at her, scream, something! She felt herself needing that shove of confrontation to unveil her true feelings, though prying was not one of your strong suits. “Is that all that you’re going to say?” She warily asked with her eyebrows drawn together. A huff of air fell from your lips as evidence of a breathy laugh and a pained smile was conjured upon your lips, the sight was on that Nat found to be of beauty, and she wished that there was a softer meaning behind its presence.

“What do you want me to say Nat?” Your voice was weak as you questioned her, and out of conflicted feelings she looked down at the ground, uncertain of how to word what she was thinking; her thoughts were haywire, it was as though she had an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, their constant battling tormented her to frail confusion, until she didn’t know exactly what she wanted. “I’ve said everything already. It’s okay as I said, we don’t have to happen.”

“But I want it to.” Her tone was quiet as she dared to glance into your gentle eyes. “I just don’t know- there’s too m- I do like you y/n.” It took her a few tries to admit but it was a relief to get the weight from pondering upon her chest. “It’s b- I can’t, I’m not sure how to do this.” She gestured between the two of you, licking her lips that seemed rather dry as she talked.

“That’s fine.” You stepped closer to her so that she could smell your perfume again, you pursed your lips as you looked at her before gripping her shaky hand. “We don’t have to rush anything, we can go at your pace. I’m more than okay with taking it slow because with you it would be more than worth it. Can I-“

Your question was abandoned before it was completed as Nat pulled you closer, nervously cupping your face before she daringly pecked your lips, pulling away after a short moment. “I liked that.” She admitted aloud, and that was only the start to her path of accepting who she was, and that to love a woman may have not been planned, but she definitely wasn’t opposed to the heartfelt ordeal.

“So did I.” You reciprocated her words, resting the bridge of your nose against her own. Her heart was thundering inside of her chest, you soothed her by stroking down her arms, entwining your fingers at the end of relaxing her jittery body. “But I like you so much more than that.” There was always a risk of being hurt no matter who you fell for, but you knew that to never be Natasha’s intention, she was new to this and there would no doubt be bumps in the road, though whatever mistakes she made whilst learning she would always pick you back up and vice versa on the journey.
