Uhmm well I've been doing my silly little thing for so long with this guy sometimes I forget what is and isn't canon/hj and of course there's the fact the last chance I checked the wiki, we're still behind on the lore over here in english speaking land.

So I'll just say that I really enjoy the idea Mayoi has a mysterious family past. Like, FOR SURE something happened. You don't just grow up living in the walls and thinking you're the root of all evil for no reason. I wanna know so badly PLEASE HAPPY ELE
