not to be that person but I think the idea of the spin off was really bad. don't get me wrong, I love mr queen and i LOVE the cast with all my heart. having shin hye sun on screen is definitely a pleasure but hear me out

and also from the small clips I've seen, they've made it look like so yong and director hong were acquainted while in the palace but there's NO hint of that when so bong and director hong meet. like you can tell me that two people who laughed and played together would have such a dynamic like so bong and hong. they basically seemed Iike strangers.
the spin off just seems like the writers way to make people like so yong so that we like the ending but it just created sm more confusion
im so fucking tempted to write an alternate ending fic for cheoljong and bong hwan in the modern time but my EXAMS 😭
