I’m the one who requested this so thank you!! Also, I’m new to Tumblr, so, hello all! 

I had a super amazing idea that I can't get out of my head. How about a cute little story with Sherlock (RDJ) going into the future and finding his long lost love, who he's been looking for for years? Thank you in advance.

None of this made sense. How was he here?

One moment he was in the flat. John had been there with him. They were discussing a case. Clues were missing, but Sherlock was sure he knew where to look. He told John to be at the flat 9PM sharp.

John left. He remembers that. He saw him go.

So, how did Sherlock end up here?

Everything was different. New. Dozens of cars were on the road. People were wearing unusual things. They had odd devices in their hands.

This wasn’t the London he was used to.

He stood there alone on the street. Thoughts were rushing through his head. He looked around hoping to find clues as what was happening. Across the street was a shop. Newspapers were on display just outside. He rushed over and grabbed one.

The date.

How could this be?

2020.

How could it be 2020?

He dropped the paper and turned around sharply, walking swiftly up the street. He cared very little for others and tried to find something familiar.

Though many of the buildings had changed, the streets had not. Once he knew what street he was on, he could himself again.

Baker Street. He would go there.

Without means for public transport, he walked. It was a long walk, but the relief of seeing the street made him happy.

He saw where the flat was supposed to be.

Now he was lost again.

Not only was the flat not there, it hadn’t been for some time, but there was someone standing outside it. They were looking up at the window with their hands in their pockets.

He felt strange.

This couldn’t be who he thought it was. Sherlock had lost you so long ago. He often ended up talking to himself in the flat because he couldn’t accept you were no longer by his side. You disappeared completely after a case and he never found you.

He matter what he did, he never found you.

He walked slowly. Never looking away. He feared of be did, you would vanish. He didn’t want this to be a dream because he wouldn’t be able to handle that.

“Y/N?”

You turn and smile. It is you. You look just as gorgeous as you always had.

“Hello Sherlock. You found me.”

He said nothing as he raised his hand and poked you. Twice.

You chuckle. “I’m here, Sherl.” You grab his hand and place a kiss to his skin. It feels so warm and real.

“How?”

“I don’t know. I was knocked out. When I came to, I was here. London is so strange now, at least compared to what it was, but I find my way. Not everything has changed so drastically.”

“You were gone.”

“I know.” You lose the smile. “I know, and it hurt me to have left you behind. I looked for you, called for you, but you’re no more than a story in 2020. The flat isn’t the flat any more. I felt so lost when I found out.” You nearly cried.

Sherlock couldn’t help himself. He wrapped his arms around you and brought you to his chest. He held you.

You grasped onto him.

“I don’t want to leave you again.” You mumble into his shirt.

“I won’t leave you. If I’m going back, you’re coming with me.” He whispers.

“I love you, Sherlock.”

He smiles.

“I love you.”

This new world is strange and different, but not all of it was new. You hadn’t changed. Not really. You loved him all the same.

Finally!! My man gets some appreciation!

May I request some headcanons of what dating Sherlock Holmes (RDJ films) would include, please? Thank you so much!!

Sherlock does adore you but you need to be prepared for a lack of affection or rather showing affection abnormally

Meaning that he’s not one for holding hands, or romantic gestures in the realm of buying flowers

The most romantic gesture you might find is his arranging gunpowder in the shape of a heart before setting it ablaze for an experiment

Over time the two of you will find a balance between affection of his caliber and of societal standard

You’ll adapt, as one mostly does when around Sherlock

Dates are a rare occasion but he does have some enjoyment of the theater, so often you’ll go to plays together

Granted at the end he might have a long list of critiques but still this can be enjoyable

Do anticipate him to be wrapped up in cases sometimes which may make for some rescheduling

And when it comes to his cases you may find yourself getting involved whether by your own accord or by his desire

There are times where he needs a second opinion, or third if Watson has already be questioned

Sometimes he just knows that you’re the expert that he needs or that you might see something he could have missed upon his examination

He’s not one to forget anniversaries, important dates stay ingrained in his mind

And while he might not know exactly what he should get you (he pays attention to what you’ve indicated you’ve liked/wanted but has no idea if it’s right for an anniversary gift) he will always give thoughtful gifts that correlate to moments in your time dating

Attempts to keep you a secret from Mycroft just because it’s his brother and the statements that Mycroft might make to you are ones that unnerve Sherlock

Of course Watson’s known about you from the day you first met Sherlock

When you and Sherlock go out anywhere it’s a nice time in general

Which is sometimes made all the more fun by attempting to deduce things about other patrons

You’ve gotten quite good in your own observations that it sometimes shocks Sherlock

Sherlock’s home has been somewhat redecorated with items that you’ve either brought over or told Sherlock that you’d appreciated

The two of you have matching reading chairs in his study where most of the time you’ll sit while he works, either just to keep him company or because you’ve become engrossed in a recent read

He’ll never fail to tell you that he loves you because it’s important to him that you know and remember this fact
