Rest In Power Chadwick - Tumblr Posts
The news of Chadwick's death is truly a heartbreaking yet awe inspiring one. An amazing man who gave so much while battling a horrid illness. He was truly the embodiment of grace and dignity, and I can only hope to one day achieve a fraction of his greatness. While I myself am not African but Latina, what he gave in Black Panther meant just as much to me as it did to my black brothers and sisters, but in a different way. Yes the people in the movie do not represent me, my family, my people, or my culture, but the struggles in it, are ones we know and can relate to very well. But what it really gave us was hope. To see a movie with a near all black cast do so great, it gave us hope that we could be next. That us Latinos, can have our moment in the spotlight where we are the heroes. That our children can see themselves on the big screen. That we can have what Wakanda, King T'Chala, Shuri, Okoye, The Black Panther, etc., gave to so many. Thank you for giving us that hope, thank you for being a groundbreaker for minorities to shine. Rest In Power my King! Wakanda Forever!
