I am a firm believer of the fact that Rika would have started developing a crush on you as you meet throughout your journey

So safe to say she already had some feelings

Boy oh boy she was about to fall over and swoon for you

But of course Rika manages to keep her cool as she usually does but its safe to say it’s getting rather hard for her to hold back her affections towards you

It comes to a boiling point after you defeat Geeta and officially claim your title of champion

Rika is the first to congratulate you and sees you outside with Geeta when Nemona comes running up to you to challenge you to a battle

After your rival yells for you to meet her in Mesagoza for a battle, Rika offers to be the one to escort you there with a cheeky grin on her face

Her excuse is that she wants to watch the newest champion duke it out with another champion

And while she isn’t lying, she also simply wants to be alone with you

In my opinion Rika’s flirting is incredibly sly and she won’t become super obvious unless you are incredibly oblivious or if you start to reciprocate her affections

So as she walks you to the city, she offers you her arm

“What? I don’t want our newest champion to fall behind or trip on anything on the way to the city.”

As you walk Rika begins to ask you details about your journey despite knowing a lot of those answers

Hassel cant keep his mouth shut about you since he’s extremely proud so Rika got a lot of information through him

She definitely prodded him for information as well so Hassel became the first person to learn about her crush

It’s almost like your interview again but a hell of a lot more casual and laid back

When you get to Mesagoza, Nemona notices your fingers intertwined with Rika’s

Because somehow you went from holding Rika’s arm to holding her hand

Which definitely wasnt Rika’s fault

Nemona was the second to learn of Rika’s crush on you, especially as Rika squeezed you hand before letting you go and battle your rival

Despite the fierceness of your battle, Rika’s gaze on you was hard to miss as she seemed far more interested in you compared to the actual pokemon that were battling

Poppy kept tugging on Rika’s hand and shirt, asking why she wasn’t paying attention to the battle

When Poppy noticed exactly who Rika’s gaze was on she almost shouted to you to let you know that good ol’ Rika was staring

Rika had to cover her mouth and promise to buy her icecream for a week so the kid wouldn’t say anything

And so Poppy was the 3rd to know about Rika’s not so little crush on you

After your battle with Nemona concluded Rika walked up to you with a slight smirk

In her head she was panicking, her palms were sweaty inside her gloves and she was trying to keep the flush from her face

But, she managed to keep her cool and congratulate you on your win

She takes your hand, looking your in the eyes as she bends down, pressing a sweet kiss to the back of it as she winks at you

Your face grows hot as you look at Rika, silent

Thankfully, you don’t have to speak up and she does the talking for you and all you have to do is say yes

“Well then, since our lovely champion Nemona got to steal your time with a battle. Would you mind if I got to steal you away for a romantic dinner, my treat of course.”

And that was how you found yourself dining with Rika, and maybe even tangled in the sheets of her bed at the end of the night

Safe to say, your first date with the ground type elite 4 trainer was successful
