Rough Waters - Prologue

After her twin brother, Marcus, dies, Michelle Kurt is placed as the guardian of his daughter Jane and his son Tyler. 

Michelle hasn’t been in touch with any of her family since she was eighteen, so getting the call that her brother was killed in a car accident and that she is now the legal guardian of his children as it says in his will was a not-so-good surprise.

One thing that’s even more concerning now that Michelle is the guardian is the fact that she doesn’t exactly have a normal job. She’s a mercenary. She gets paid to kill people, but she only kills those who are criminals, rapists, or just bad people, but even that doesn’t make what she does right. 

She’s considered a ghost and when she’s at home she is a Blogger who writes about Legal Studies and Criminal Justice topics to make money and as a cover career for what she actually does. 

Facing the problem and risk of trying to keep her real work life away from her niece and nephew, along with her brother’s ex-wife wanting custody of her kids out of nowhere, and a police officer’s new suspect list on who the Ghoul Assassin is, is added to her list of stresses in this series. 

And on top of all that, she starts to slowly realize that with all the pieces of the puzzle put together, her brother dying in a “car accident” wasn’t just an accident, it was planned.
