Kaleh'a was having a decidedly not fun time.

The number of times that he had actually gotten himself injured enough that he couldn't walk on his own two feet could be counted on one hand. And this time it was pushing him dangerously close to having to use two hands! What made it even worse was the fact that Kai, of all people, was carrying him away from the now slain beast!

When the blue haired Miqo'te had offered to pick him up after getting clipped by the beast's claws while the others finished it off, he had vehemently refused, claiming he could shoot from a sitting position with his bow, and that "so help me Twelve if you pick me up I will bite your ear off--!?"

All his complaints were rapidly silenced by the descriptively strong machinest bodily lifting him in a hold remarkably close to a princess carry, the blonde Miqo'te instinctively wrapping his arms around his neck as he hissed and spat in anger...but Kai's ear was still in tact.

With each step, Kaleh'a's laid back ears slowly relaxed, his snarl faded and then hisses died down, and slowly, he fell silent for a long few moments. The hold was warm, respectful to his injured lower leg, and left the archer calm. It was a few minutes more before there was a healer in sight, rushing towards them with magics ready, but they would swear on their life that they heard someone purring contently.

Kaleh'a swore it wasn't him.

How do you overcome writer’s block?

What about your muse are you most proud of?

Man, writers block is something I have struggled with so much. And the weird thing is, it's not from lack of wanting to write or not knowing where I want the story to go. It is simply...man, writing right now feels so hard. Sometimes when I go silent for a while on an RP, it's because I'm literally waiting for that boost of motivation to hit. Sometimes it's re-reading the amazing reply I got, or re-reading the entire RP that gets me going, but more often then not I get over writers block by playing the scenario out in my head. Imagining the character in the situation, what they would do, how they would react, and suddenly, I must write! So yah, a bit of waiting, a bit of thinking, and then the urge strikes!

Bryn: I am...proud of sticking to his character! In the past I have had a smallllll issue of everyone slowly blending towards a bit too happy, bit too kind, bit too forgiving, and actually sticking with Bryn and making him that rough and tough military man with edges as sharp as a knife (even if he cares deep down). It's a blast to write, and so much fun to see the reactions and replies to it!

Kaleh'a: What am I most proud of... I'd have to say his expressionism through his tail and ears. Writing for body parts you don't have is both challenging, yet fun, and it's a learning experience! I know right now I sometimes fall into the trap of "his tail flicks agitatedly" instead of the flick or motion be the tell of the emotion. But by far, what I am most proud of is handling those emotional tells that bring a bit more life to his character!

Old muses? Hmm... Man I go through muses like daily papers. One I would like to bring back is someone who shares the Quickdraw name, not through blood (since it's not his actual last name anyways), but through association and a bit of awe at our young Miqo'te's accomplishments. Maybe she will make an appearance one day as a fun aside. Silvia would enjoy being introduced after all!

🤥 for a lie-themed headcanon

Bryn: Ah, but what was the biggest lie the cursed Hyur ever told? Was it hiding his other form from those that trusted him? Was it lying about his upbringing and home life? No, nothing so trivial. It was the lie he lived, forcing himself to become a Garlean soldier. He had to make it believable, too, make it seem like he relished in the pain of the Garlean slaves, that he laughed at open talk of torture and hated his home land. His biggest lie was making himself so Garlean that he convinced a blue Miqo'te so thoroughly that he was the enemy, she did not believe he was actually trying to save her. That one haunts him, how that lie seemed far too much like the truth.

Kaleh'a: Okay he struggles when it comes to lying. Like think man is too honest for his own good. If he absolutely has to, he will lie somewhat convincingly, but he hates doing it. He firmly believes he should tell the truth to his friends, and expects they would do the same for him. It's gotten him in trouble, sure, but it also is why he is so rapidly trusted in many different circles. Fun times for the cheery cat boy!

Favourite trope... Redemption. Sometimes it's obvious, other times not so much, but the personal growth that you can see and have with a redemption trope is delicious!

Least favorite... Love at first sight. And I mean that in "both parties fall perfectly in love and never have an issue." Just rubs me the wrong way! Let them fight, show their love for each other, not just rely on the idea of they have to be together!

An OTP (One True Pair) [I had to look it up, lol!] Hmm...for Bryn, he had one, and lost one, and gained one much later down the line. They both tie into his story and life, one who he saved from Garlean capture. Now Kaleh'a...okay so I'm playing through Shadowbringers right now and the energy that he and Alisaie have is just too good. I like to think she's his OTP in a good friend's kind of way. Romance is his strong suit, but he's a bit of Keeper. He's still looking for that one female figure who would be the center of his family.

I did mention her before, but there is another Quickdraw! Her last name is shared by reverence, not by blood, and while Silvia is doing a different kind of tracking, she hopes her name will be just as famous as the hunter before her. Who knows, maybe she will show up!

Oh man, so many! Harry Potter came to mind pretty quickly, but also Lord of the Rings, myriad of different shows and anime, book series like ACoTaR, Eragon, etc, so many interesting fantasy and non-fantasy worlds out there! I mean...maybe possibly even Supernatural... I need to watch it first.

Seeing Marlowe try to hit him was... He couldn't quite place the feeling. Amusing, yes, but almost... Sad.

He was so much larger than her, and as her fists pounded against his chest, punch after punch raining down against a thick coat as anger and tears flashed over her face... He didn't even really feel it.

She was upset, angry, sad, scared, and lashing out, and he couldn't blame her, even as nails dragged over his cheek with a well timed lunge. Blood dropped down his cheek from the wound, and he finally reacted.

It didn't matter if she was slighter than he, it her punches barely registered. He was not one to just stand there and take it. His arms, his hands, they were around her in a flash, lifting her into the air by the waist, kicking legs and all, keeping her arms pinned to her side, and with a shift, forcing her head down and away from his head and neck, into his coated chest to keep her gnashing teeth from finding life giving blood.

As Marlowe kicked, with each blow to his shins, he slowly tightened his hold, tighter, slowly applying more and more pressure, wrapping her up as he rumbled out, "Enough."

And he just held her like that.

He let her kick, and yell, and scream. He let her curse his name, his person, his actions. But he held strong. And long. And tight. Until slowly she calmed. Until her anger was exhausted, and the blood on his cheek had dried and the wounds stopped oozing.

Bruised, battered shins shifted, and he set her down, but she was unharmed, and he slowly let his silver eyes find hers, murmuring, "Better?"

[ COLLAPSE ]:     a weakened sender (either from exhaustion or injuries or whatever!) sinks into the receiver’s embrace, only to collapse in their arms, too weak to move. 

"Elu!"

Bryn was there in a flash, wrapping her up in his arms, the blonde Miqo'te limp and weak as he held her close to his chest, his silver eyes alight with worry as he peered at her face as his limp lover trembled from exertion. She had warned him about this, about how using too much of her power, her aether could lead to her collapsing, exhausted and weakened, unable to protect herself or others.

Which was where he came in.

Carefully, with the grace that defied his size and training, he lifted her, a hand at the back of her head to support it, the other slipping around her waist and lifting her into his arms. Her head was nestled against his chest, and even as he grumbled, he planted a soft kiss to her forehead. "What did I tell you about going too hard?"

Rising back to his feet from the kneeling position he had slid into to support her, he carried her cradled to his chest, away from the destruction wrought by her and him, away from the delighted cries of freed souls, away from their captors who would terrorize no more, his steps sure and strong as he rumbled out softly to her.

"Don't worry, Elu. I've got you, love."

EXPERIENCE: I've been writing since I was in middle school, and RPing for almost 4 years now! I've done a myriad of different RPs, from completely original worlds and characters to stuff like FFXIV. I have enjoyed every second of it, and will continue to for as long as I can!

PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: Well, everything! Action, combat, drama, angst, fast paced, slow paced, ERP, one shots, all of it. I just really enjoy writing! As for mediums of RP, I do prefer writing, but I am slowly getting into RP in game. It's a challenging, but very expensive experience!

PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: Hmm, I'm not really picky, but if I had to pick a few...

God moding/meta-ing the RP. Don't use info your character wouldn't know! What's in the mind is in the mind unless you're muse is a mind reader. Then it's a different story lol.

Judgement of writing style or ships. Everyone writes differently, everyone likes different ships and dynamics. While I don't shy away from writing most things, I am not perfect or good at it all! Judgement of the attempt or trying to push stuff a certain way I've said I'm not comfortable with would be a huge no. (Haven't had that happen yet though!) Constructive feedback though is welcome!

Minor/minor leaning content. For obvious reasons nope.

PLOTS OR MEMES: All of the above! I enjoy the memes and the plots, and will happily plan entire story lines if that's what you'd like!

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: Long replies 99.9% of the time, unless there is a need for a short one or an offshoot is occurring. Keeping it short and sweet is nice sometimes, but the meat and potatoes are in the long replies.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Morning and evening! When I wake up or am about to sleep, my brain loves to want to write. I often fall asleep with a draft at my fingertips!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: Bryn? Nope, opposite! He's fun to write because of that! Kaleh'a though, his happy and trusting demeanor is very much like myself. Not much gets me down, and I like to cruise through life and take things in stride, just like the Miqo'te!

Lie or truth:

"Truth." Bryn's answer was quick, firm, and his eyes are closed as his arms cross over his chest. "Being a scout for the Maelstrom was an excellent lesson in how important accurate and truthful information was. A small lie, or miscalculation, could mean life or death. So, I always prefer the truth. Both in combat, and outside." He pauses, thinking, and then opens an eye. "Besides, if you can't hear the truth from your friend, lover, or ally, are they really worth having around?"

"Jeez, I forget how cynical you can be!" Kaleh'a laughs as Bryn scowls at him, but the Miqo'te just leans back against his chair and shrugs, his eyes closing as his tail curled around the leg of the chair. "Well...personally, I think a well intentioned lie is appropriate, at times. For instance, a word of kindness to a dying comrade. Sometimes...mercy can overrule truth." The archer opened his eye, peering at Bryn, and shrugging again. "That said, generally, I agree, truth is usually the best action to take, no matter how uncomfortable or unpleasant it may be."
