For me one of the biggest surprises is the fact that Woody was able to hide almost ALL of his charisma for Marty... like HOW 😅
marty is a brilliant character, woody's performance was amazing and rust wouldn't be as great of a character as he is if he did not have marty as his antithesis
As someone who's reading Matthew McConaughey's autobiography right now, I absolutely agree.
At the same time tho, he thinks about life as deep as Rust, just in a different way.
He has lived as an outcast, and he approaches the characters that he interprets not as if he WAS them, but as if he KNOWS them.
So, to me, he's the only one who could play Rust Cohle 😊 (and I can't wait to see if he talks about that role in the book)
