Growing up amongst a whole litter of wolves, Arlo was the only one who seemed to struggle with her lycanthropy - breaking away from her family, she tried to go it alone, then tried joining the Moonwood Mills Collective under the wing of her grandfather Kristopher Volkov. After unexpectedly starting a family*, though, Arlo eventually decided the only way forward was to find and take the cure.

*With Lilith Vatore, previously Münch, previously Vatore. They shouldn't have gotten along, being a vampire and a werewolf, but they started flirting with each other immediately, fell in love, woohoo'd, Lilith got pregnant.

This was all before I realized Lilith is, in fact, Arlo's great-grand-aunt (?) (Caleb Vatore is Arlo's great-grandfather). Lilith was also married to and had children with a half-cousin (?) of Arlo's (Mila Münch-Volkov was Arlo's grandmother, and Lilith was married to Mila's son Gunther.)
