“You smell like home”
You raised your eyebrows in surprise.
“Like home?”
“Mhmm”
The vibration of his hum of agreement buzzed trough your body. Your hand met the soft surface of one of the catboys ears, gently stroking it. He nuzzled into the palm of your hand, seeking more contact. His eyes were closed, and his lashes fanned against the skin of his cheeks like feathers. He was obscenely beautiful.
“What does home smell like?”
His eyes opened, and the brilliant magenta was met by your own eyes. He looked so content while laying on top of you.
“Home smells like..” Suddenly, a wave of sadness washed over his face, eyes becoming distant and empty, reliving things he didn’t want to remember. A shiver ran trough his body, as you tightened your grip around him.
“It used to smell like smoke and ashes. Back in world war 2...”
“I smell like smoke and ashes?” you asked jokingly offended, knowing that this wasn’t what he meant. It was best to distract him from thoughts like these as soon as they occurred, otherwise it would most likely end up with him sulking for the next two days.
His brows furrowed and he shook his head quickly, his fluffy hair tickling your neck in the process.
“Nein nein, you smell like my new home.”
“So I smell like cleaning supplies and new furniture?” A small, childish laughter echoed in your ears as he shook his head again.
“You smell like Y/N” he finally said, settling his chin on your upper body. He smiled up at you as you reached for his head again, massaging his scalp with your fingers.
“And what does Y/N smell like?” Smiling back, you brushed trough his hair, marvelled at its softness.
“Like home!” You snorted and rolled your eyes at his grin.
“We aren’t making much process here Schrödinger”
He wiggled his eyebrows at you, still grinning.
“Maybe I need to tickle the answer out of you!”
“Nein!” Shrieking, he tried to push you off, but it was to late. You had effectively pinned him down and began to attack the sides of his ribcage, resulting in a fit of laughter. Squirming around under you, he tried to get out of your iron grip but without much effect.
All of the sudden his body disappeared and you flopped face-first down onto the mattress.
Raising your head to eye the boy who was now sitting on the sofa across the room, you huffed in expatriation.
“Get back here you little-” you pushed yourself up to move over to the sofa, but he had already teleported again with a squeak as soon as you moved.
Scanning the room to find his new hiding spot, you were met by the tip of an ear peeking out behind the curtain. You coughed loudly.
“Oh no, I sure wonder where he is now”
Tiptoeing to the hiding boy, you grinned as you saw the whole curtain move as he tried to contain his laughter.
You yanked the curtain open and grabbed his arm, pulling him into a tight hug.
“No more teleporting” His pupils were blown wide from excitement and he smiled back sheepishly.
“Entschuldigung”
“Don’t say you’re sorry if it’s not true. Now get back on the bed, I want to cuddle”
He quickly obliged and the both of you soon laid together on the bed once again, your eyes closed. Your arms held him tight against you as you basked in each others embrace.
Your nose nudged against the back of his neck, making him giggle. Teasingly, you blew a little bit of air against his skin. The corners of your lips curled into a smile as his ears twitched. Pressing a quick kiss against the nape of his neck and allowing your head to fall back onto the mattress, you raised your voice.
“You smell like chocolate.” A quick pause enabled you to feel him pressing his back into your frontside a little harder, his tail curling around your waist.
“And sweat.” You deadpanned, snorting as his body went rigid in response, showing his embarrassment. Recovering from the small shock he quickly whipped around, a blush forming high on his cheeks.
“Mean!” A childish pout settled on his face, making him even more adorable.
Chuckling, you pressed a affectionate peck on his nose. “But it’s true”
He rolled his eyes at you and settled his face against your collarbone, still silently pouting.
“….you smell like vanilla”
Puzzled, you tried to get a look on his face but he hid by pressing it on your chest.
“How does your new home smell like vanilla?”
He moved his head and blinked up at you yet adverted is eyes as he spoke the next sentence, blush intensifying of his features.
“You are my new home”
