genre: fluff, university au

summary: seungcheol is the star football player in your university but he becomes a bumbling mess in front of you.
warnings: none, you do get hit by a ball though
a/n: i have decided to start writing fics for seventeen too because i just love them way way too much <3 also disclaimer this post used to be under my old url httphannie <3

Seungcheol doesn’t know what to say. He usually has an explanation for his actions. There doesn’t seem to be anything coming to his mind when he sees you on the ground. The problem with being the star player on the football team was the amount of trust his coach put on him. As well as the thought that they needed to win every game, that wasn’t a problem though because Choi Seungcheol was a beast when he was in game mode. His aim was the best on the whole team, he’d never missed a goal.
Obviously today was an off day.
“You’re staring, Cheol.” Jeonghan gives him a hearty slap on the back. “You really like our school mascot don’t you?” All Seungcheol can do is nod, watching as Seungkwan helps you up.
He really wants to go over and say sorry for nearly knocking you out with his kick but he can’t. Not because he doesn’t want to but because he simply can’t. It’s stupid really. Choi Seungcheol, star player of the football team, can’t say two words when he’s faced with you. He’s tried speaking to you. Once after a game, not the best choice because he’d become so nervous he spilt his water bottle all over you. Even after you told him it was fine he was still stuttering his words. Another time he’d managed to catch you walking down the hallway. The moment you smiled and said ‘hi’ his mind blanked. No words could come out of his mouth and he stood there gaping like a goldfish.
Talking to girls was easy for Seungcheol. He could give them a smile and they’d be fawning all over him. You were different. There isn’t one time he’s had a full conversation with you with nothing embarrassing happening. He’d stumble over his words or nothing would come out of his mouth. The only thing that kept him from giving up was the fact you would grin every time he came up to you and he didn’t like giving up.
“Of course I like her!” Seungcheol runs a hand through his hair. “I just don't know what to do?”
“You could ask her out.”
“I can’t!”
His friend arches an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. "What do you mean you can't ask her out? Like you're scared, or you don't know how to, because those two are completely different things." Jeonghan's tone is gentle but probing, urging Seungcheol to confront the root of his hesitation.
“That’s not it. I’ve got everything planned out. I know what to say and I know where I want to bring her to. There’s a whole plan in my notebook, it’s coloured in and everything!”
“Then what’s the problem?”
Seungcheol fiddles with the hem of his shirt. “Whenever I go up to her to ask her out my throat closes and I can’t find the right words. Or when I try to even write my confession, my hand freezes and no letters can be written. It’s even worse because I manage to make a fool of myself whenever I’m in front of her!” He kicks the football away.
Jeonghan sighs, staring at Seungcheol as he aimed a perfect kick to the goal. The boy was completely enamoured by you. Practically the whole school knew about his crush on you. Everyone was just waiting for the day the both of you would come in hand in hand.
//
“Y/n, oh my god! Are you okay?” Seungkwan was shaking you by your shoulders. You rub your head. That football was really hard. Who knew air could hurt you? “How many fingers am I holding up?” He waves three fingers around and your eyes struggle to adjust to his trembling hand.
“Calm down. I just got hit in the head, I don’t have a concussion or anything.” You just know there’s going to be a huge bump on your forehead tomorrow. “It’s partly Stuart’s fault.” You pat the dragon costume you had on. The fuzzy green body was heavy and the long swishy tail at the back was quite annoying to lug around.
"Why are you blaming our mascot? Stuart did nothing wrong," Seungkwan interjects, shooting a pointed glare at Seungcheol. "Star player my ass." He mutters under his breath, clearly unimpressed.
“Hey, don’t blame him. I’m sure it was an accident.” You give Seungcheol a little smile and an ‘okay’ sign to tell him everything was fine.
“I can’t believe you like that dumbass, he can’t string two sentences together when he’s in front of you.” Seungkwan helps you up, handing you Stuart’s head. You dust off the dirt on your costume.
What was there not to like about Choi Seungcheol? He was popular, athletic, smart and talented in everything. Not to mention he was the literal definition of eye candy. There hadn’t been many occasions where you two had met. He’d always stutter helplessly or his cheeks would resemble a fire truck, which was very endearing. It was quite funny seeing him stumble over his words whenever he tried to ask you out.
“Why don’t you just ask him out? You already know he likes you, not that he makes it the most obvious thing in the world.”
“But isn't it just the cutest thing when he tries to ask me out but he’s a stuttering blushing mess?” You giggle when you catch sight of the pout Seungcheol has on his face. “I hope he asks me out soon though, I can’t wait to finally go on a date with him.”
The smile you shoot at Seungcheol has him tripping over his feet, face planting into the ground. Suppressing your laughter behind your hand, you watch as he hurriedly picks himself up, only to see his teammates rolling on the floor with amusement.
“How long are you even willing to wait?”
“As long as it takes.”

— always be yours, choi seungcheol.

[a/n] can be read as the first part to this.

“the one over there in the dark grey suit is—” seungcheol’s voice trails off when he realises you’re not paying any attention to his words and your gaze was fixed on a man standing at the other end of the room.
there’s a certain loneliness in your eyes and seungcheol catches the sad, barely there smile that appears on your face and how your eyes seem to light up when jeonghan finally notices you. the first smile he’s seen from you in a while and the most life he’s ever seen in your eyes.
seungcheol glances at you then at jeonghan and for a moment it seems like the two of you had forgotten that you were in a room full of people with the way the both of you were just looking at each other.
he looks down at your hand that was holding onto his arm, your fingers trembling lightly, and he can’t help but feel slightly sorry for himself.
for how he’s the one you’re legally married to, for reasons other than love on your end but for seungcheol that was the sole reason he had agreed to the marriage when his parents proposed the idea to him a year ago. that was all the reason he needed.
for how he’s the one you’re holding on to right now but it’s clear that your heart belongs to someone else, to the man in a white suit standing at the other end of the room.
he doesn’t miss the way your grip on his arm tightens and your nails dig into his skin as you bring up a hand to quickly wipe the corner of your eyes when jeonghan finally turns away from you, breaking the eye contact.
“you okay?” seungcheol asks.
you clear your throat then simply mutter a soft, “yeah, i’m fine.”
he looks at your face, his eyes soft and brows slightly furrowed with worry and he notices that your small smile from earlier was now completely gone and your eyes never left jeonghan’s back.
in that moment, seungcheol accepts that you will never be his but he will always be yours.

summary: seungcheol is so hyped to be at a fancy hotel with a pool, especially at night when it's all yours. you, his boyfriend, however, is perfectly content to lounge poolside. after some wheedling and puppy-dog eyes, seungcheol gets you into the water. but that's not all he wants - inspired by a certain scene in the bl you binged with him, seungcheol's been dying to try an underwater kiss... and he's not taking no for an answer.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
the rooftop pool at the hotel glittered, an oasis of turquoise in the concrete jungle. seungcheol, already in his swim trunks, was practically vibrating with excitement. “babe, c’mon! you're taking forever!” he called from the doorway of your hotel room, where you were struggling to get the umbrella thing to stay in your cocktail. “chill, cheollie,” you chuckled, finally succeeding and taking a sip of your drink. “it’s not like the pool’s going anywhere.”
he pouted, leaning against the doorframe. “but i am. and i’m about to yeet myself into that water if you don’t hurry up.” you laughed, grabbing your towel. “okay, okay. i’m coming.”
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
seungcheol wasted no time cannonballing into the water, he’d been dying to take a dip in the hotel’s ridiculously lavish pool all day, and now under the soft glow of the moon, he was living his best life. you, on the other hand, were perfectly content to admire the view from dry land. you watched from your lounger, a bemused smile on your face, your cocktail glass clutched in one hand as you took occasional sips. “you look like a kid in a candy store, cheol,” you chuckled, leaning back and enjoying the warm summer air.
seungheol paused mid-paddle, his hair a damp curtain around his face. “and you,” he pointed an accusing finger, “look like you’re about to fall asleep on that sunbed.”
“it’s a lounger,” you corrected, though the threat of sleep wasn’t entirely innacurate. the day had been long, filled with sightseeing and indulging in far too much delicious food. he pouted, his usual sunshine grin replaced with something far more dangerous–puppy dog eyes. “babe… join me? pretty please?”
you sighed dramatically, “cheol, you know i’m not exactly a water baby like you.”
he grinned, a mischievous glint in his eye. “that’s why i’m here to protect you,” he announced, puffing out his chest playfully. “your very own personal lifeguard.” you laughed, shaking your head at his antics. he was ridiculous, utterly ridiculous, and yet…you couldn’t deny the pull you felt towards him, towards the pure joy radiating off him like heat from the sun. “fine,” you relented, pushing yourself off the lounger. “but if i turn into a scaly lizard from all this chlorine, you're taking me to the spa."
"deal," he said, holding out his hand. you took it, letting him pull you into the water. the shock of the cool water against your skin took your breath away, and you instinctively clung to seungcheol, who laughed and wrapped his arms around you.
"see? not so bad, is it?" he murmured, pressing a kiss to your temple. you shook your head, burying your face in the crook of his neck, trying to hide your blush. "shut up and hold me."
he laughed again, the sound echoing softly in the stillness of the night. he held you close, his warmth a comforting presence against your skin. you relaxed into his embrace, the gentle rocking of the water lulling you into a sense of peace.
“you’re lucky you’re cute,” you mumbled. “cute?” he feigned offense, his grip tightening playfully. “i’ll have you know i’m devastatingly handsome.” you laughed, the sound echoing across the silent pool area “devastatingly cheesy, more like.”
he chuckled, a low rumble that vibrated against your skin. for a moment, you simply floated there, content in the silence, the only sound the gentle splash of water and the steady beat of seungcheol’s heart beneath your ear. then, as if struck by a sudden thought, seungcheol pulled back slightly, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “remember that show we watched?” he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
you raised an eyebrow. “which one? we binge-watch way too many shows, cheol.” he rolled his eyes playfully. “the one with the guys at the pool? and the, you know…” he trailed off, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink.
you knew exactly what he was talking about. you’d binged the new bl that came out together a few weeks back, and let’s just say a certain underwater kiss scene had left a lasting impression on your boyfriend.
“don’t even say it,” you warned, though a smile tugged at your lips.
“but babe,” he whined, his lower lip jutting out in a pout that should be illegal. “it’ll be fun! romantic! we can pretend we’re, like, in a movie or something.”
you sighed. trying to resist seungcheol when he was like this was like trying to outrun a hurricane—futile and frankly, a little bit pointless.
“fine,” you conceded, already knowing you were fighting a losing battle. “but if we swallow half the pool, i’m blaming you.” he grinned, his eyes lighting up like a kid on christmas morning. “okayy!”
he leaned down, his lips brushing against yours. “ready?” he murmured, his breath warm against your skin. you took a deep breath, nodding slowly. he grinned, and then, with a gentle push, he pulled you both beneath the surface.
the world went quiet, the sounds of the night replaced by the muffled rush of water. tiny bubbles, like sparkling diamonds, danced upwards as you both opened your eyes, the chlorine stinging slightly but not unpleasantly. seungcheol’s eyes, wide and bright, met yours. he was smiling, a wide, goofy grin that made your heart melt. and then, slowly, he leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a kiss that was soft, sweet, and surprisingly breathtaking.
it was clumsy, a little awkward, and absolutely perfect.
seungcheol broke the kiss first, gasping for air and shaking his head like a wet dog, sending droplets of water flying. he grinned, his cheeks flushed and his eyes sparkling, as he watched you emerge beside him. you came up sputtering, hair plastered to your forehead, a mix of laughter and disbelief bubbling out of you. "cheollie!" you shrieked, playfully shoving at his shoulder. “i totally swallowed water, you owe me a drink!"
he chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you closer, uncaring of the fact that you were both dripping pool water everywhere. "worth it," he declared, pressing a quick kiss to your temple, his smile wider than you'd ever seen it.
you couldn’t help but agree.
maybe, just maybe, being seungcheol’s water baby wouldn’t be so bad after all.
best friend's older brother seungcheol
this is part of my 550 followers celebration event! find the rest of the members' headcanons in the event too as i post them through this month!

no warnings: just fluff.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who isn't even attractive to you for most of your life
seungcheol, attractive? hell no. you don't understand why every girl in your class drools over him. they ask you for his number, for tips to ask him out, for favours to set them up with him, and you oblige, because you don't get the hype but you don't care about protecting cheol from these girls.
and it doesn't seem that cheol minds either. at each of your birthday parties, you don't even call half the people who turn up, because they just want to ogle seungcheol. and seungcheol even lets them.
you don't care because you just want to spend time with his sister, who's your bestest friend, and it's a small price to pay for her treasured company. and you don't really mind seungcheol's company too, occasionally. although he pouts too much whenever the three of you don't play the game he wants to play.
you don't know how to define your relation with him. he's been everything you had missed in being a single child. teaching you to drive even when your hand-eye coordination sucks. helping you with your precalculus exam even when his own geography exam is the next morning. rescuing you from dumb teens who'd tried to spike your drinks.
but he's not really a brother. you know that more as you grow up when you stop seeing him as just your best friend's older brother, but also as a specimen of the opposite sex. the way his voice becomes deeper, his hair falls longer to the nape of his neck, the way he can no longer fit into the makeshift tent in your room when the three of you play UNO.
and yet, you can't imagine any romantic notion cropping up in your mind with regards to him.
that one time someone asked if you ever had a crush on seungcheol, and you'd laughed straight in their face. crush? on seungcheol? ridiculous, absurd, preposterous. you tell seungcheol the same the next time you see him, and he laughs with you too. see? no scene of romance.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who is head over heels in love with you
has been so for the last four years, when he's seen you really grow up into a remarkable woman.
the two of you are just two years apart, so he sees you hitting puberty mere months after him. and boy, he's down bad since that day.
he's not been able to maintain any relationship with anyone he dates simply because he always finds flaws in them that aren't in you. can't bake? too bad, you can. can't sing idol songs? too bad, you know every idol song's lyrics and choreography. can't keep a seat for him during lunch? too bad, you never forget. don't know his favourite ice cream flavour? too bad, you know every ice cream flavour he has liked since he was ten years old. have clear skin? too bad, he would choose your shiny, oily skin any day. wear skirts? too bad, he prefers your baggy jeans because you have pockets to store candies in.
and yet he knows that you don't think of him like that. it doesn't particularly bother him, because he doesn't need you to love him for him to love you.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who gets the news of you going abroad for college from his sister, not from you directly
"you didn't even bother to tell me." he says, after almost an hour of you coaxing him to tell you why he's pouty and upset.
"i would tell you, eventually, i would." "and when will eventually come around?" you don't answer, just hug him from the side and press your face to his shoulder. he's gotten remarkably broad in the last few years, perhaps to fit in with his jock image. but his body still feels as soft to you as it did earlier as well, whenever you had hugged him.
"you'll call me?" he says after a long time. "of course." "when will you leave? in august?" "yeah, so i'm still here for a couple more months. this entire summer, i can chill finally." you smile, but he doesn't. his eyes lock onto yours, and your face burns up with the attention he's giving you, although you don't want to look away.
"two more months." without any clue of what's going on in his head, you shoot him a confused glare. "yeah, two months. two months are a long time." "not really. but they're enough." "enough?" cheol doesn't reply. he doesn't need to. actions always prove louder than words.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who now spends more time with you than ever
he's not even being subtle about it. he totally stops going out for parties and random date nights, in favour of spending every evening with you. your best friend is busy with her boyfriend, who's also pining because she's leaving too with you, so cheol has you completely to himself.
together, the two of you explore every nook and cranny of the city you were born in. cheol is surprised at how little you know about your own city, and you're shocked at how much he knows. "you gangster. how are you so familiar with these parts of the town?" you blush as he drives you thru the red light district of the city, clutching him tight as you sit behind him on his motorbike. "i've spent many a happy evening in these lanes, sweetheart." "do you want to drop me off and enjoy here then? i can take the bus home." he grabs your hands which are wrapped around his shoulders and pulls you closer to him. "don't say stuff you don't really mean, sweetheart."
sweetheart. that's a new nickname, but he's using it ever so often these days. he checked your reaction the first time he used it, and while your eyes had grown wide in mild shock, you'd not really protested against him. and he knows you've never not loudly protested against something you don't like. so he knows pretty well you don't mind the nickname. and if the way you're wearing the same lipgloss and the same pair of jeans every day ever since he complimented it once is anything to go by then you like the nickname too.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who you're touching a little more as each day passes by
you don't know when it starts to happen, but you rather start to looking forward to seeing him every damn day.
you hope he doesn't realise why you keep wearing the same lipgloss every day. you hope he doesn't realise why you suddenly enjoy riding his motorcycle with him. you hope he doesn't realise that you no longer argue with him when he insists on taking you to places he's more familiar with.
and you certainly hope he doesn't ask why. because to be honest, you don't know if you could answer it yourself. why do you want him to look at you more? why do you want to touch the muscles on his back through his white t-shirts? why do you let him beat you in every arcade game as long as it means that he celebrates his victory by hugging you?
perhaps because when you try to think of your life without seungcheol, you come up with a blank. you simply cannot imagine a life where he’s not a part of it. a life without him at your birthdays and new year parties? a life without him on your emergency dial? a life without him being your go-to person for any excuse you want to whip up to get out of a situation? a life without your #1 supporter no matter what you’ve done? you can’t imagine it at all.
and this realisation makes you think again on what your relationship with seungcheol really is.
thinking about best friend's older brother!seungcheol who brings you to the beach the day before his birthday
it’s also your last week in this country. the two of you spend the entire day wandering through street stalls that are set up next to the beach. you buy him a seashell locket that he promptly wears around his neck. he buys you as many glasses of boba tea as you like, which turns out to be nearly every flavour sold at the stall.
when night comes, the two of you lie down in the rocky sand along the beach, slightly isolated from the rest of the crowds, and giggle to your own inside jokes while embracing the scent of the sea breeze mingled with the cool night air.
the clock strikes midnight in the distance, and you whisper in seungcheol’s ears, “happy birthday, cheol-ah.” he laughs softly, his voice hoarse after all the talking of the day. “you’re the first to wish me.” “like always, isn’t it?” you turn on your side to face the man, his arm outstretched and your head lying on his arm, barely touching and yet so, so close. “i’ll always be the first to wish you, cheol-ah. even with a time zone difference.” you almost laugh when you see the way his lips go from a smile to a pout, sadness spreading across his features. “i’ll miss you, sweetheart.” he turns to face you too, his bicep flexing under your cheeks as the two of you face each other and breathe in the same air. under the moonlight, his sharp features look soft, his eyebrows hidden under his bangs.
“can i ask you something?” seungcheol hums, his pout deepening. the impulse burns through your veins. something about how much closer you’ve grown over the last few weeks makes you feel braver. “can i kiss you, seungcheol?” the man in front of you smirks, “i thought you would never ask.”
his lips meet yours halfway and take away any ounce of hesitation from your mind. the first kiss is short, but when you pull away to take a breath, he leans in further, his body coming slightly above you as he tucks you into his arm and deepens the kiss. his other hand cupping your cheeks.
“is this my birthday present?” seungcheol asks you from above you, breathless. you giggle, shy from the proximity. “if you want. did you like it?” “like? fucking loved it, sweetheart. best birthday present ever.”
Nana tour meet cute with seventeen | '95 line + Jun

Synopsis: A series of meet cutes between you and seventeen when they are on vacation during Nana Tour. 95 line + Jun x gn! reader | fluff | 2.5k words | warnings: food, motion sickness

ᯓ★ Seungcheol
✰ You met Seungcheol at the lobby of seventeen’s hotel in Japan. You were returning from an early morning walk around the area because you were jet lagged. That’s when you saw this bunch of guys who were really excitedly boarding a bus. While they were all really cute, your eyes were fixed on one of them in particular. He was on crutches and was wearing a large, oversized jacket. It looked as if he was sending the rest of them off because he didn’t get on the bus with them. You could tell he was trying to be happy for them, but his eyes reflected regret and sadness. You surmised he was probably supposed to follow them, though his injury prevented him from doing so.
✰ Well, it seems that you were definitely staring at him a little too long. Seungcheol had sensed your eyes lingering on his form for a while. Were you a stalker? It didn’t seem like it since there was no photo taking, squealing or all the behaviour of a sasaeng. He also didn’t want to alert the rest of the members who were so excited. So he waited until the bus left before turning to look at you. You flushed under his stare, smiling sheepishly and apologetically at him. You approached him from where you had been watching him. Seungcheol’s stare softened, and the corners of his lips pulled upwards. Based on your reaction (and the hotel key card in your hand), you obviously meant no harm to him or the members.
✰ When you reached Seungcheol, said a quick “hi” and muttered an apology for staring at him too long. Seungcheol took in your presence. He wasn’t going to lie, he was a little flustered. You were adorable, looking at him with your sparkling eyes, and nervously fiddling with the key card. Seungcheol chuckled, telling you it was okay. He probably looked like a pre-school teacher sending his kids off. You laughed at his little joke as it certainly lightened the mood. Your laugh also made Seungcheol more enamoured by you. The fact he couldn’t follow the rest of seventeen to Italty was now pushed to the far corner of his mind. With his ‘kids’ gone, he had some free time before having to fly back to Seoul.
✰ Gesturing to the key card in your hand, Seungcheol asked if you were heading back into the hotel. You looked at the time on your phone, nodding. The breakfast buffet was about to start and you were a little hungry after your walk. Seungcheol brightened up at the mention of the breakfast buffet. In a shy voice, he asked you if you wanted to get breakfast together. You were shocked at his question. This cute guy you just met and barely knew wanted to get breakfast? Quickly shaking off your shock, you giggled, agreeing to Seungcheol. Seungcheol gathered his crutches, and you hopped closer to walk next to him. Watching your adorable actions, Seungcheol thought, maybe not being able to go to Italy won’t be so bad afterall.
ᯓ★ Jeonghan
✰ You met Jeonghan on the road from Rome to Florence. You were traveling with your parents to Italy for the first time. Your parents had decided to rent a car since there were so many places outside of Rome that you wanted to visit. But just your luck, as you were traveling to Florence, your rented car broke down right in the middle of the road. You and your parents were struggling to push the car to the side of the road. It didn’t help that you were traveling along a rather quiet stretch of road and it was almost sunset. With no one in sight, you all were going to have to struggle for a while.
✰ Just then, a bus came along. Of course, because your car was literally in the middle of the road, the bus had to stop. The bus driver came down to see what was going on. Your father apologetically told him your car had broken down, and you were having trouble pushing the car to the side of the road. As they were conversing, Na PD, some staff members, and a couple of members came down the bus as well. They took in the situation and told your father they would help you to shift the car. It would be a good opportunity to stretch their legs anyway after being on the bus for hours. While they did that, you were standing at the side watching everything unfold. That was when you noticed Jeonghan. Jeonghan was hanging back behind the group. He looked a little queasy.
✰ You approached Jeonghan, asking him if he was okay. Jeonghan gave you an unconvincing reassuring nod, telling you he had a little motion sickness. You immediately rummaged through your bag to fish out motion sickness pills and sweets. You approached Jeonghan, handing them over to him. He accepted them, popping one of the sweets in his mouth and pocketing the pills. He smiled as the taste of the sweet treat spread through his mouth. The sweet was almost as sweet as you. He blushed at the thought. As you watched the rest of the members and staff help your father push your car to the side of the road, Jeonghan watched you. Under the glow of the setting sun, you looked really pretty. It was quite uncharacteristic of Jeonghan to be attracted to someone so fast, but there must have been something about the air in Italy that bred romance.
✰ Jeonghan continued to watch you as you ran back to your parents once the car was successfully pushed to the side of the road. You and your parents thanked everyone who helped you gratefully. Your mother had successfully called the tow company and they would be there shortly. As the members and staff slowly returned to their bus, you happily passed them sweets as a thank you for being so kind. Jeonghan smiled at the sight. You were pretty inside and out. When your eyes met his, you gave him a thumbs up and pointed to the motion sickness pills in his pocket, indicating to him to take them if he needed. Jeonghan climbed onto the bus, nodding at you cutely. He really wanted to get to know you more, but they needed to go and because you were both traveling, there was probably no way you would meet again. Jeonghan sighed, sulking a little as the bus continued on to Florence and he watched your figure getting smaller in his peripheral vision. Little did he know, when he would go on his day tour in Florence with Joshua and Vernon, he would meet you again. And this next time, Jeonghan would be bold enough to exchange numbers with you.
ᯓ★ Joshua
✰ You met Joshua at the little sandwich shop the members visited on their first morning in Rome. You were living in Rome for a short while and had become a regular at the sandwich shop. One morning, you headed there to get your lunch for the day. When you stepped into the shop, it was surprisingly busy and full of tall, attractive men. You flushed. They were the most attractive people you had ever seen. You observed them hovering around the display while trying to figure out what to eat. The clerk behind the counter gave you an apologetic smile. It seemed like this would take a while. Noticing your presence, Joshua turned to you. He shooed the rest of the men to the side and waved you over, telling you to please go ahead of them. You stepped closer to him but shook your head. You asked him if they needed help deciding what to eat. Since you were a regular, maybe you could recommend some things for them?
✰ Joshua agreed enthusiastically, introducing himself while giving you a bright, toothy smile. His eyes curved into crescent moons, which was one of the most adorable sights you ever saw. Clearing your throat to stop yourself from fainting on the spot, you shyly told Joshua your name before telling the clerk to make them a few of the shop’s signature sandwiches. With that done, you also placed an order for your sandwich. The men cheered loudly. They were certainly chaotic. Some of them began moving to the back to get a place to sit, and others were getting drinks. Was that wine? In the morning on a weekday? You raised a brow at Joshua. He chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. You giggled at his response.
✰ Your giggles quietened down as you stared at Joshua. He gazed upon the rest of the men so fondly. His gaze was just so full of love, it made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You turned away, the heat rising to your cheeks. He was making you feel all sorts of things. Unbeknownst to you, Joshua was feeling butterflies in his stomach from being in such close proximity to you. You certainly had a certain effect on him, but he was on camera and given what happened in the previous months, he had to be extra careful. Exhaling to calm his beating heart, he excused himself to talk to Dino, who was at the counter trying to settle the payment. He told Dino to pay for your meal as well since you had helped them to order the food, and he asked the clerk for a pen and a piece of paper.
✰ You gave Joshua a faint smile when he collected the sandwiches for his members and walked to the back of the shop to eat with them. You were a little sad and disappointed Joshua walked away, but what could you do? You just met him and he was with his friends. You got your order and stared at Joshua’s back one last time longingly. Turning to pay, you were shocked when the clerk said your meal would be paid for by Joshua’s group. And, you were even more shocked when you were handed a piece of paper with writing on it. Running your eyes over the writing, you gasped. You glanced at Joshua who was giving you a small smile. You grinned at him in response, both as thanks for the meal and as acknowledgement for what was written on the paper. Giddily exiting the shop, you reread what was on the paper - Thanks for helping us. I’m just traveling through Rome, but maybe you could give me a call sometime? ;) Joshua
ᯓ★ Junhui
✰ You met Jun at the airport custom’s line. You were arriving in Rome around the same time as seventeen and you had to go through the hassle of clearing customs. For some reason, you had to go through a really complicated visa application process and the waiting line at the airport to go through customs was criminally long. You pouted in frustration. You were an impatient person so waiting in line was horribly boring and a huge pain for you.
✰ Meanwhile, Jun and Minghao was waiting in line behind you. Minghao was trying to coordinate with the staff members to ensure they would both know where to meet everyone else once they were done. Jun on the other hand… well he’s just so cat-like… so he was turning around curiously to take in the sights of the Leonardo da Vinci airport. He was fascinated by everything. But when he turned back to face forward, Jun’s attention was captured by one of the trinkets hanging on your bag. He raised a finger to give it a little poke, only to be stopped by Minghao giving him a disapproving stare. Jun pursed his lips, defiantly poking at the trinket while staring Minghao straight in his eyes. One or two little pokes wouldn’t hurt you. Of course, Jun was wrong and you did feel something nudging at your bag. You swiveled around instinctively, ready to tell off whoever was trying to touch your stuff without permission.
✰ Your fiery gaze was met with Jun’s innocent, curious looking eyes. He muttered a soft apology to you. You sighed, your anger dissipating almost immediately. He just looked so bored like you, and so innocent. You didn’t have the heart to give him a piece of your mind. Instead, you shifted your bag closer to him so Jun could take a closer look at the trinket. Jun perked up, inspecting the trinket carefully as you told him where you got it from. Minghao was sheepishly looking at you but you waved him off. Jun was just as bored as you. This would prove to alleviate both your boredom. Honestly, it was quite endearing to see how fascinated Jun was with that little trinket. The trinket was just something you happened to get because it was cute, and then there Jun, who was staring at it as if it was limited edition merchandise.
✰ The line moved quickly with you conversing with Jun the entire time. He was cute and his curiosity really reminded you of a little, quirky, lovable, orange cat. Since you were in front of Jun and Minghao, you did have to part with them first to get through customs. Once you were out, you fiddled with the trinket on your bag. You didn’t really need it, and Jun seemed to really like it. You took it off your bag, and waited for Jun to come out of the line. He seemed to brighten up when he saw you were still there waiting for him. You stretched out your hand, dropping the trinket in his. You reassured him you wanted him to have it. Jun laughed, telling you he would treasure it and use it well. Pausing for a little while to think, Jun whipped his phone out and handed it to you. You tilted your head, confused by his actions. You saw him open the phone number app. Giving him a cheeky smile, you keyed in your number. Then, when you saw Minghao emerge from customs, you bid Jun farewell telling him to call you. Making your way to catch your bus, you giggled. So maybe you had a thing for innocent, adorable looking, cat-like men. Who knew?
