Been thinking about the Mo family today, and I’ve got some thoughts and headcanons to share.

First, Lord Mo ruushi married in. It’s the only way I can make having Mo Xuanyu’s mom be his aunt’s younger sister while the Mo cousins share a last name. Simple, easy, someone correct if I’m wrong cause it’s been a while.

Second, the Second Young Lady Mo is a shu-daughter, which is because of my head canon that she is actually a cousin to Zangse Sanren/Cangse Sanren/Wei Wuxian’s mom. Not a close cousin, for heaven’s sake Baoshan Sanren was able to scoop Zangse up from somewhere and no one said anything! The reason I have for this is based on the resemblance Mo Xuanyu and Wei Wuxian share, which may again be the result of a bad memory on my part, and also because Jin Guangshan is a Creep.

Why am I bringing up that filthy lecher? Because if Second Young Lady Mo had a resemblance to Zangse Sanren, then Jin Guangshan settled on her as replacement for the one who got away until he grew bored. This also allows for Meng Shi to fit into his type at the time while allowing him to work on degrading his value of Zangse Sanren for turning him down. Because obviously if he can find a resemblance to her in these women she wasn’t all that.
