Coffee Dates || Kim Seokjin

Word Count: 1.3k

Genre: Fluff

“I told them.”

You choked as you heard the words come out of Jin’s mouth, wondering to yourself if you had just heard right. Your boyfriend, the one and only Kim Seokjin, had just told you that he let his fellow band mates know he was dating someone. It seemed so much like a dream to you that you held back the disbelief, coughing as you tried not to inhale the food in your mouth.

Jin kept a smile on his face as he watched you sitting in the chair across from him. You knew that your boyfriend was cruel but you had never thought that he was cruel enough to sit there and watched as you died because of his one true love. Even while you were dying you thought about how you could never compete with Jin’s love for food and meals.

“Did I hear you right, or am I imagining that you told me that?” You questioned. Your hand reached out and grabbed the glass of water from the table, taking a sip of the cool liquid to wash down any of the food you had left caught in your throat. Jin rested his head on his hands, propping them up on the table so he could tilt his head while he stared at you.

➸ prompt: You’re severely depressed these days and I’m too scared to leave you alone so yes this is the only solution please accept my hugs.

➸ pairing: jin x reader

➸ requested by anon and @felifl | 700 words | fluff, slight angst

➸ trigger warning: depictions of depression

You’ve stayed in bed too long to get up now.

It is a well-known rule that once you reach six PM, and you’re still wrapped up in your duvet and clad in unwashed pyjamas, once you reach six PM and you haven’t seen a drop of sunshine all day, with curtains drawn and covers covering, once you reach six PM and you haven’t moved, except to rummage for some chocolate before retiring back into the black, once you reach six PM there’s no point getting out of bed. It’s too late. Another day, faded out, sighed out, left out. Gone. You can’t escape the clutches of your pillow now. Except… for a text.

➸ pairing: jin x reader

➸ requested by @yeunyeunlu | 1.2k words | fluff

Jin is too sweet to understand.

Too polite. Too nice. Too dissolve-on-your-tongue-like-sugar sweet.

And he thinks you’re offering the bed up for him out of the kindness of your heart.

“I know you’re worried about me, but I’ll be fine on the couch,” he insists, “Please. Take my bed.”

But you’re not offering to be kind. In fact, you would have gladly hogged the bed, bundled yourself up in the plush-looking duvet and left Jin to the joys of a squeaky couch that creaks with every movement… if it wasn’t for one small detail: Jin’s habit of snacking in bed.

Opinions that don’t fit together, opinions that clash, opinions that you just can’t wrap your head around. Opinions from parents, from aunts and uncles, and from your husband himself. Jin’s sure his parents want a traditional Korean name for their grand-daughter, but you know your own parents want her to be named after your great-grandmother who you never met, but was “a truly remarkable person”.

jin would be such a good boyfriend and I’ll fight anyone who thinks otherwise

image

“Jin?” I called impatiently from the kitchen, listening for him upstairs. I was helplessly boiling some pasta and waiting for Jin to come and take over the cooking whilst he rang his family. I was sure I had done something wrong as the pasta I was stirring didn’t look right, and I needed him to come and fix it.

I groaned in frustration, peering down at it with disgust. My head whipped up when Jin suddenly slid into the kitchen with the phone in his hand. Before I could speak he had found my gaze quickly and hurried to where I was standing. I stepped back, alarmed, as he flailed his arms about in a manner of urgency.

“Jin, wha-“

“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N.” He started, and I let out a nervous laugh, still avoiding the random movements of his limbs. “My parents just called, and they’re coming to visit in like two minutes and it was a complete surprise because they thought it would be nice and I’m sorry you have no warning but they’re going to be here soon!” He rambled so quickly that I had to take a minute to understand what he had said.

I gaped pathetically, taking in what he was saying and trying to formulate a response. He smiled guiltily at me, holding his hands out still. My eyes suddenly widened and I gasped as I realised I would be meeting Jin’s parents. His parents.

“Oh my god.” I muttered, shoving the spoon I was holding into his hands and pushing past him. I looked like a mess. I was a mess.

“Sorry!” He said sheepishly as I left the room, already thinking about what to wear.

“How long do I have?” I called as I hurried upstairs, untying my hair.

“Half an hour at most!” He shouted up the stairs and I swore, quickening my pace. “But it’s okay, you don’t have to look fancy or anything!” I rolled my eyes at the nonchalance in his faint voice. He didn’t get it. I hurriedly jumped into the shower, riddled with anxiety.

Under the hot water, my worry only grew. I had never loved anyone as much as I did Jin. I was sure I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, so I had to make a good impression. We had already been dating for about a year and a half, but I hadn’t met his family, because they lived so far from us. I wanted, no, needed them to like me. I hadn’t been expecting to meet them for another month or so at least, and now I had no warning and no time to prepare. My stomach squirmed and I took a shaky breath, trying to let the warm water trickling over my face calm me.

I jumped out of the shower, slipping on underwear and fumbling around with the hairdryer quickly, swearing as I couldn’t untangle the wire. Jin appeared in the doorway, laughing at my alarmed and frustrated expression.

“Y/N, don’t freak out, it’s okay.” He said with a smile, and I glared at him from the floor, throwing the hairdryer down in irritation. He didn’t understand my worry; his first meeting with my family had been casual and perfect – they loved him.

“It’s not, Jin!” I whined worriedly, standing up and walking to my closet. “These are your parents! They have to like me.” I said frantically, scrambling to find something acceptable to wear. “I mean, I’ve heard so much about them, and I need to make a good first impression.” Panic flared in my chest again as I looked at the time, and my breathing increased. What if I said something wrong? What if they hated me? What if they made Jin break up with me?

“Baby.” Jin, who seemed to have realised I was more than just nervous, spoke steadily from behind me. I spun around to look at him, wringing my hands and trying to catch my breath. He frowned in concern and opened his arms for me, cocking his head to the side. I sighed shakily, walking towards him and pressing my forehead against his shoulder, letting him wrap his arms around me and squeeze me tightly. I inhaled deeply, closing my eyes and feeling my racing heart slow in his embrace. He held me quietly until my breathing had returned to normal.

“You don’t have to worry.” He spoke softly against my neck, his lips ghosting over the skin there.

“But I do worry.” I mumbled, frowning. “I love you, and I want to stay with you for a long time. If they don’t like me…”

“It won’t matter.” He finished for me, pulling back from the hug to look me in the eye. “Nothing is going to stop me from being with you.” He gave me a small smile, brushing my cheek with his thumb. I closed my eyes and sighed against his hand, trying to take in what he was saying. “And besides, they’re going to love you.” I looked at him questioningly and he rolled his eyes, pulling me back into a hug and swaying from side to side as he spoke.

“Wear whatever, just be yourself and they’ll love you. I already do.” I smiled up at his cheesy line and reached up to kiss him gently. I giggled in surprise as he suddenly picked me up by my thighs, laughing against my lips as he carried me over to the bed. I squealed as he dropped me on it and leant over my body, kissing me deeply. He rolled over next to me, hooking his arm around my waist to pull me closer.

“I love you, I love you, I love you….” He muttered in between kisses placed to my cheeks and I giggled, trying weakly to push him off. He eventually stopped only to press his face into my neck, rolling me on top of him again. I laughed, and clung to him, squealing.

We were suddenly interrupted by the front door ringing. My eyes widened, and he began to laugh as I looked down at myself still in underwear and with wet hair.

“Jin…” I whispered angrily, pushing off the bed to put something on. He followed, throwing me a flannel and some jeans.

“Wear these.” He grinned. I began to hurriedly pull on the jeans, pushing him out of the room with my other hand.

“Go and answer the door!” I exclaimed, and he laughed as I continued to hop around, trying to shove him.

“I love you. They’re going to love you.” He chuckled with his head poked around the doorway, and I couldn’t help the smile stretching across my face.

“Go!” I laughed, pushing him out and still smiling to myself as I pulled on the shirt. I still felt jittery with nerves, but now I was grinning, and almost excited.

After a few minutes Jin called me down and I took a deep breath, running my fingers through my hair once more. Just be yourself.

Of course, he was right. His parents were just as lovely as he was, and thankfully seemed to like me. Jin clutched my hand beneath the table the entire time, his face almost splitting open with how hard he was smiling at seeing me get on so well with them. Despite all my nerves, it went well. But even if it hadn’t, I knew I would have been fine. I had Jin, and I always would have.

Gaffe [Jin]

{{ noun // an unintentional act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator; a blunder }}

Accidentally texting your ex is never good… Right?

Slight Angst, Fluff. Slice of Life AU. 1,383 words.

❁ ❁ ❁ ❁ ❁ ❁ ❁

You: Hey, can you pick up some eggs on the way home?

You send the text to your roommate, hoping she’ll see it once she gets out of her afternoon class and goes grocery shopping. You walk around your shared apartment, vacuuming each room and doing your laundry. It was your turn this week for house chores, so might as well get it out of the way before you dive into your movie marathon later and get too comfortable and lazy to do your share of the work. Your phone buzzes, and you grab it off the table.

Jin: I think you texted this to the wrong number.

Your eyebrows furrow in confusion until you take notice of the name. Jin? Well, shit. You screwed up majorly.

You sent it to your ex-boyfriend.

❝ You always tend to avoid clubs, but when you are dragged to one by your friend, you know it can only mean trouble. Luckily, you have a mysterious stranger to protect you. ❞

➵ pairing: jin x reader

➵ genre: fluff

➵ word count: 2.5k

You hate clubs. The seizure-inducing strobe lights; the repetitive, thumping music; the drunken crowds. You despise it all. Yet here you are. In a club. Shortly after midnight.

Your friend dragged you here with the argument that it was her birthday, and that she’d be hurt if you didn’t come along. You had to wonder what happened to the pizza-and-pyjama-party type of birthdays. You friend used to be perfectly happy with that way of celebrating. But now she has taken the notion to be more “mature” and “grown-up” and to “live a little”.

Despite you only having agreed to come on the condition that your friend stay with you at all times, she is now nowhere to be seen. She said she was off to get drinks, but that was fifteen minutes ago. It doesn’t take that long to order a cocktail.

You squeeze through the heaving throng of people until you reach the bar. It’s hard to tell with the dim lighting, but after a few minutes of scanning the crowd, you are certain that your friend is not there. Puffing out a breath, you go to sit on one of the stools lining the bar. Maybe she just decided to visit the bathroom before meeting with you again. You send her a text, then wait. She’ll show up eventually. You hope.

Home Is Wherever You Are

image

Pairing: Kim Seokjin x Reader (mostly Jin’s POV) Rating: Mature Genre: Military!au, angst & fluff Warnings: Minor character death, mentions of blood & violence Word count: 3,600

Summary: Kim Seokjin believes he can face any and all things with dignity and strength - prides himself in his resilience and armoured heart. He is a brave man, through and through. The only fear he has is the inability to find his way back into your arms, which in turn would mean he has lost his way home.

Because home is wherever you are.

A/N: For @dontcallmemarge who has waited ever so patiently for me to finally write her a Jin scenario. 🙈

“… Sergeant…”

The high pitched ringing is so loud in his ears that it makes him want to scream.

“-geant… Kim…”

When he opens his eyes, everything is bright; all blurry and muddled shapes.

He closes his eyes again.

“Sergeant Kim!”

Your voice is faint to him. At least he thinks it’s your voice.

“Seokjin, stay with me. Keep your eyes open baby, please.”

Ah, yes. It was you. Only you would dare to call him baby while out in the battlefield. Or at all, for that matter.

“Baby, can you hear me? I need you to talk to me.”

You’re trying to stay calm, but you’re panicking. He can hear it so clearly in the distant sound of your voice. You have to stay calm. He needs to tell you to calm down, not to lose yourself. You need to have a clear mind.

His lips part and he tries to speak, yet his throat is raw and the taste of iron coats his tongue. He doesn’t like it. Seokjin wants to spit it out. He can’t though, he’s too tired. Can’t be bothered.

Seokjin opens his eyes again. This time he blinks away the brightness and the blur. Blinks and blinks until the smudged edges of your face grow sharp and he can find familiar eyes.

Until he can find home.

He sees it there; in the way you look at him. The familiarity of comfort and safety; love and sincerity.

Seokjin sees the queen sized bed draped in your favourite bedding; the one he thinks is ugly but keeps that opinion himself. The lazy nights spent on the couch with your head in his lap and the TV flickering in the darkness of the room. The mess of the kitchen when you spend the entire day baking, only to burn the cookies that Seokjin will happily eat anyways.

The mirror in front of you showed the reflection of a tired girl and without any strength on her, but even though you were aware of every aching muscle in your body, you kept trying the choreography.

It was exasperating the idea of having to show up in front of people, that sense of nausea that never left you and your legs shaking, but if you wanted to make your debut you should have endured.

The idea of becoming an idol had never been yours, at least not at the beginning. Your mother had always tried to live her life through you and as she hadn’t succeeded in realizing her dream, you had become her replacement.

Your voice was more powerful than hers, your body was more flexible and slender than hers, your face was perfect compared to hers. For your mother, you were just the improved copy of herself. And you never had the heart to say no.

Your character, sweet, mild and far too submissive had never been able to sustain the burden of the overwhelming presence of your mother.

And the weakest point of the person you were, was your shyness. For this, in the beginning, the idea of becoming an idol frightened you. The crowd, the expectations, the idea of having to please anyone else you wouldn’t have been successful. Nothing of that world excited you, indeed it had crept into you panic. Pure panic.

Observing your reflection you stopped for two seconds, the sweat that slipped along your skin impregnating, even more, the already moist clothes, the strands of your bangs glued to your forehead because of the veil of sweat. Your chest was up and down quickly, the short breath that accompanied him and the muscles of your legs thanked for that little break.

And in those seconds, you wanted to find the “breakthrough” in your mind. What was the time when that dream had become yours too? A small smile, albeit tired, widened on your lips when your answer finally came.

After six months of tiring practices, without sleeping or eating properly, you had found yourself in that same room in front of the same mirror. Your reflection was more minute, your hair longer and your cheeks still slightly chubby.

Yet the sense of freedom that your heart felt, that was something new. You didn’t know when and if you’d debuted, but at that time you started figuring out that being away from your mother was having a positive effect on you. The hours of practice, the nights spent to improve your voice, those few people you were able to approach despite your shyness, you found that they made you feel good. You even started to love fatigue, because it made you alive. After years you felt really alive.

“Y/N-SSI??”

Your memoirs vanished fast while the voice that had called you were filled with a certain concern. The voice reflected the expression on Hyun’s face, one of your sunbae.

“Oh, Sunbaenim,” you murmured feeling embarrassed starting to make his way because you could never speak to the boys, especially not those much older than you. The most desperate case was another one, so a pinch of calm kept hovering in you without making you a stuttering disaster.

“You shouldn’t be here to practice, you have to rest since it’s your day off,” he scolded you with kindness, staying close to the door. He noticed your dark circles and the fatigue with which your body barely stood up, details that worried him even more.

You nodded with a little smile, bowing at 90 degrees, “yeah, now I go sunbaenim,” your voice came out mildly but for Hyun it was enough for hear. With another smile, he bid his goodbye and you sighed with relief. At least it wasn’t HIM.

When the door was finally closed to your shoulders, you approached your duffel bag and started to tuck in all your things ready to go.

But the door opened again and you were ready to reassure Hyun, but the rumors that chatted little distant made you realize that it wasn’t Hyun this time.

“Oh, y/n-ssi, we didn’t know you were here!”

Looking in the mirror you watched them look kindly, although they were obviously tired as much as you. But they had to excel in perfection much more than you, so it didn’t surprise you to find them in the rehearsal room.

puns || kim seokjin

Kim Seokjin x reader

Summary: A handsome stranger is telling puns on the bus, and you find them almost as funny as he does.

Genre: fluff

Words: 1838

image

I sighed as I took a seat on the bus, on my way to work. I always enjoyed the ride there; it gave me a chance to clear my mind and people-watch for the journey, preparing myself for the busy and tiring night ahead. I stretched my legs, tired from college all day, and knowing I would be on my feet all night.

Despite my fatigue, I was in a good mood, happily watching the city pass by and enjoying the warm, late spring weather. I moved my attention from the window to the door as the bus stopped, allowing people to get on. I watched as an old man pottered on first, a middle-aged woman following him, and just behind her two young men, talking amicably as they strolled on.

Both were evidently attractive, but my eyes lingered on the taller one. He had light brown hair framing his forehead and smooth skin, his facial features almost making him appear godly as they spread into a beautiful smile. They took a seat in front of me, their backs to me as they continued their conversation.

Unintentionally, I began to listen to what they were saying, my attention automatically drawn to them.

“Okay, Yoongi, listen to this one,” the taller one started, already grinning, “how does a penguin build its house?” His friend simply sighed in response, looking out of the window. “Igloos it together!” He exclaimed, letting out a loud, squeaky laugh and clapping his hands together.

I grinned at the joke, knowing they couldn’t see me. I had an easy sense of humour, and puns were my weakness. ‘Yoongi’ didn’t even bat an eyelid at the joke, remaining completely deadpan, but the tall one didn’t seemed phased by this reaction. In fact, his failure to elicit a reaction in his friend only seemed to encourage him as he continued.

“Hey, did you hear about the kidnapping?” He asked, giggling.

“No.” His friend said, sounding completely unamused and sick of puns.

“Well, don’t worry, he woke up.” His doe eyes turned to crescents, his body shaking as he chuckled. I had to stifle a laugh at that one, leaning back and smirking. I admired his willpower; determinedly continuing despite his friend’s obvious disinterest. Again, the other boy barely reacted.

They then began another conversation, discussing what they would do that night. I was still listening to them (reassuring myself that it would be pretty hard for me not to, considering how close they were sitting to me), and though not staring obviously, I couldn’t seem to keep my eyes off the taller boy as he spoke. The late afternoon sun leaking through the bus windows lit up his features, making his hair appear golden and his skin glowing. I dragged my gaze away and looked out of the window, listening as they discussed which restaurant to visit later.

“Should we go to that new place down the road? Their cold noodles are supposed to be really good.” The smaller boy was contemplating, scrolling through his phone.

“That reminds me,” started the taller one, “what do you call a fake noodle?” His friend groaned, and I couldn’t help but to smile.

“I don’t care.” Yoongi continued to look at his phone. I leant forward, excited for the answer.

“An impasta!” He finished the joke, clapping his hands. I couldn’t help the barking laugh that escaped my lips for a second before I clapped a hand over my mouth. My face heated up as I realised how loud it had been. Both boys whipped their heads around, the one who told the joke grinning at me.

“Sorry,” I giggled, waving my hand, “that was a really good joke.” He beamed at me, still laughing himself.

“Right? See, Yoongi, someone with a real sense of humour!” He said triumphantly, gesturing towards me, and I blushed. Yoongi just shook his head at the both of us, giving me a small, polite smile, before returning to finding a restaurant on his phone. The other one turned back to me, a friendly smile gracing his features.

“Do you know any jokes?” He asked after a moment. I racked my brains for a good pun, wanting to keep the conversation going with him.

“Okay, what do you call an elephant that doesn’t matter?” I questioned, already smiling as I thought about the answer. He pondered it for a second, before shaking his head.

“I don’t know.”

“An irrelephant.” I answered, and he immediately erupted into laughter, clapping his hands together. I beamed, proud of myself for making him laugh. I was surprised to see Yoongi turn around briefly with a small grin at my joke too. This immediately offended the taller one.

“Ya, why do you laugh at her jokes but not at mine?” He demanded, his eyes growing wide. Yoongi scoffed as I watched on with amusement.

“Her jokes are better than yours.” He replied bluntly, and received another outraged look from the boy next to him, who then turned to me, ignoring the comment.

“That was a good one. What’s your name?” He chuckled.

“I’m Y/N.” I returned his smile.

“Jin,” he gestured to himself, “and Yoongi.” He pointed to his darker haired friend. “Nice to meet you.”

Finally, he had a name. I looked at him, taking in his soft features and open face. It suited him.

We continued to chat good-naturedly as the bus rattled around the city, my forearms now resting on the backs of their chairs as I leaned forward. Yoongi turned out to be a lot friendlier than he looked, and Jin was just as enigmatic as he seemed from an outside perspective. I found myself frowning, disappointment filling me as I saw my bus stop looming ahead.

I needed to find a way to see him again. Thinking quickly, I pulled out a scrap of paper and scribbled something down, leaning on the empty seat next to me. I stood up as the bus slowed to a stop, stumbling a bit and holding onto a pole for support.

“This is my stop, but I couldn’t help but to overhear that you guys are looking for a place to eat.” I grinned, handing Jin the piece of paper. “This is the restaurant I work at. It’s pretty good.” I heard the bus doors open behind me. “Stop by if you feel like it. I’m working all night.”

I got off before I could hear a reply, watching him grin at me through the window as the bus drove off, my own cheeks still stretched into a cheerful smile.

Later that evening as I waited tables, I kept getting distracted by watching the door for the people coming in, hoping to see Jin’s face amongst the swarms of customers entering. I bit my lip, trying to catch a glance of him as I took orders and hurriedly laid places.

“Y/N, can you focus please? What is up with you today?” My colleague asked irritably, her arms laden with dishes as she pointed to the table that needed to be cleared. I shook my head, apologising.

“Yes, sorry, nothing.” I sighed, quickly moving to pick up empty dishes. I carried them back to the bar, seeing her shake her head in annoyance, frowning at the door.

“Look,” she nodded to the door, “flip a coin to decide who takes them?”

I looked to the entrance to see a boisterous group of young men, talking loudly and laughing; the type of customers you didn’t want to be in charge of. However, I immediately recognised Yoongi at the front of the group, his distinctive hair and piercing gaze separating him easily from the average customer, and next to him, a taller, more familiar boy. Jin noticed me quickly and met my gaze, waving across the room. I grinned, patting my colleague’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got it.” I made my way over to them, smirking.

“Good evening gentlemen.” I said, giving them all menus but repeatedly meeting Jin’s gaze as I did so. I briefly looked around at the six other boys, recognising only Yoongi, and receiving smiles from all of them.

“Y/N,” my attention was brought back to Jin. He pretended to look at the menu for a while before looking up. “why couldn’t the bicycle stand up by itself?” I supressed a smile, pretending to think for a moment.

“…is it because it was two tired?” I asked innocently, watching as his face dropped. His expression of shock was priceless, and I laughed along with the six others, who immediately began teasing him.

“You’ve been practicing.” He narrowed his eyes at me, grinning.

“Well, I had to, to keep up with you.” I flirted back, and he simply stared back with a small grin. I felt his eyes on me as I took their orders and went to serve other tables, the smile barely leaving my face.

I got reprimanded several times by colleagues as I spent most of the night by their table, exchanging puns with Jin and joking around with the others, and only leaving when I was afraid I would actually lose my job. All seven of them gave off an aura of sincerity and humility that drew me towards them, but the energy between Jin and I was something that was impossible to describe; I couldn’t seem to stay away from him.

At the end of my shift, they finally decided it was time to leave. The other boys waved goodbye, giving me a generous tip before walking out, still talking and laughing loudly. Jin was the last to leave the table, and he stayed sitting as I cleared it around him.

“Can I help you?” He asked, reaching for some plates, but I slapped his hand away.

“No, Jin, it’s literally my job.” I chuckled. “Besides, my manager will think I’m slacking if he sees a customer helping me.” He nodded understandingly, resting his chin in his hands and watching me for a moment, a small smile on his face. Once I had finished wiping the table he stood up and walked around it, coming to stand very close to me. I had to crane my neck upwards to see him, and I could feel the heat radiating off his body as he peered down at me.

I waited for him to say something as he seemed to just be studying my face. I distracted myself, putting my notebook away and wiping my hands on a cloth, before he finally spoke.

“So Y/N.” I looked up and met his intense gaze, my breath catching in my throat. He cocked his head to the side, the corner of his mouth lifting. “Do you like raisins?”

I frowned for a second, before smiling dejectedly; that hadn’t been what I was expecting him to say, but how could I expect anything else but another pun? I sighed patiently, giving him a small smile.

“Not really.” I admitted and he smirked, his eyes glinting.

“Then how about a date?”

[November 17th]

Working with Kim Seokjin to organise the Yule Ball is both bad and good.

It’s bad because: he’s Kim Seokjin, a Gryffindor, and a rival to your house and all you stand for. On top of that, he’s so unfairly handsome, kissed by his fellow gods and laid to walk among mortals, he makes you want to forget all your hatred for him with one look from those sugar coated eyes.

But it’s good because: he’s rubbish at dancing, and keeps making a fool of himself in the waltzes you have to perform. It makes it worth it - all the trouble he gives you in tying your tongue with his inhumane beauty - seeing him stumbling over his two left feet and blushing like a buffoon.

Word Count: 2.3k

Genre: Fluff

It had been a few days since you had last seen him. You weren’t sure what was keeping him so busy, but whatever it was it must have been important. You didn’t mind though as you understood that Jin was always busy, either with music or cleaning up after the boys and making sure they were doing okay.

It was just something you had grown to understand and come to terms with. You weren’t always Jin’s first priority but that didn’t matter because you still knew he loved you. He never failed to make you feel loved and always treated you with the upmost respect.

There were many reasons why you loved him, and you didn’t think anything could change that. Despite the tours and promotions, which were finally coming to an end. You were waiting for the moment when he was free so the two of you could see each other again.

You smiled as you heard the specific ringtone for a certain someone go off. You quickly shot up from your spot at the table and ran into your room where your phone was charging. With a huge smile on your face, you answered the call.

“Hi.” You giggled into the receiver. You heard a nervous laugh on the other side of the line and you felt your heart flutter.

“Well hello there beautiful.” Jin’s voice flooded through your ears and you couldn’t stop the butterflies as they started to fly around in your stomach, trying to find a way to burst out and go free.

“You’re back?” You questioned. You waited the few seconds it took Jin to reply, the excitement continuing to build up and up within you.

“Yeah, I am.” He said. There was something holding back in his voice that worried you slightly. Despite all the happiness building up inside you, you paused yourself to question what was going on.

Swimming Fancies | Seokjin

Prompt: “What’s with the box?” + “Have you lost your fucking mind?” + “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were trying to seduce me.” from this drabble game [x]. Requested by anon (hi there friend!)

summary: Seokjin just wants to swim in his kiddie pool. In the middle of your carpeted apartment. Yeah.

genre: fluff, humor/crack

words: 1.5K

Swimming Fancies | Seokjin

Walking into your shared apartment after a tiring day at work, you were surprised to find your boyfriend shuffling through a box as big as him in the middle of your cramped living room. He was grabbing a few miscellaneous items from within the box, before barely glancing at them and chucking them over his shoulder. You just narrowly missed getting hit in the head by what you think was a deflated beach ball when you finally cleared your throat in greeting.

“Seokjin? What’s with the box?” You asked warily. The mess he had made since you had left was downright appalling. You had left for work this morning with a nearly spotless apartment after cleaning it the day before, and now it was barely recognizable. Although you both shared the apartment, you couldn’t help but wonder if you had gotten the short end of the stick by agreeing to room with your boyfriend.

“Oh, hi jagi!” Seokjin paused long enough from his rummaging to greet you, his body still almost halfway inside the humungous box. His hair was disheveled from hours of sifting through the contents, and his plain white shirt was stuck to him with sweat. You took a moment to admire his broad shoulders before you heard him clicking his tongue knowingly.

“Oy. Eyes off the goods, jagi.” He smirked, but you just grinned unabashedly back at him. If he was going to mess up your apartment, might as well ogle him without shame.

❝ You sign up for a Christmas pen pal project to keep the boredom at bay over the holidays… but your pen pal partner might be a lot closer to you than you think… ❞

➸ prompt: You and I both sign up for a Christmas Pen Pal project to exchange postcards letters over the holidays.

➸ pairing: jin x reader

➸ warnings: contains a lot of terrible dad jokes

➸ requested by @felifli | 7.6k words | fluff, university au

Christmas is the most boring time of year.

It’s the time of year when your university friends all travel home to their family, leaving you alone on campus, lamenting over the price of plane tickets that stand between you and your home far away. It’s the time of year when you have the city to yourself, with no one to explore it with, wasting free hours in cafes, sipping on gingerbread lattes, and staring out the window at the skies that promise snow, but never deliver. It’s the time of year when the only conversation you get is with your family over Skype, asking you how you’re doing. And while you make sure to show a smile for them, as soon as they disconnect your face falls back to blank, losing all Christmas joy.

You’re desperate for this year to be different. You’ve piled up your work, asking to help with articles for the university newspaper, and planning to get ahead on reading for your course. But already the idea of three weeks with only work is freezing up your heart. Even if you won’t admit it.

Wake Up

image

“Seokjin, what is your problem?” you almost yelled.

“Nothing, okay?!” he growled back.

“That’s a lie, dammit! I’m your girlfriend, you can tell me what’s wrong!” You actually shouted at him this time, throwing your arms in an angry gesture. Jin had been brooding and grumpy since you had gotten to the dorm, and he was outright refusing to talk to you. He even lied, telling you that he wasn’t angry. You had tried to be nice; you two had never fought before now, and you were really scared. He was always sweet to you, and nothing had ever been argument-worthy with him. But you couldn’t stand the fact that he was blatantly lying.

“You’re going to tell me that I shouldn’t be angry,” Jin grumbled. He was sitting at the dinner table, his fists lightly clenched on top of the wood. He wouldn’t remove his gaze from the table, not even to look at your standing figure.

“What?” You sounded only half as hurt as you felt. Why did he think you’d react like that?

“You keep flirting with your other guy friends! It hurts to have to watch you with them, even when you’re with the other members. You’re always…” he trailed off, seemingly too upset to continue.

“I’m not trying to flirt with anyone,” you said, confused. Apparently you came off more defensive than you intended to, because Jin seemed really prickly then.

“Well, you are! ‘Oh, Oppa, you’re so funny! I can’t imagine living without you!’” he mocked you. You bristled at this.

“How dare you!” you snarled.

“Do what? Tell you how you act around these guys?” He finally looked up at you with a genuine look of disgust on his face. You felt tears well up as anger and indignation flooded you.

“No! How dare you mock me and put words in my mouth!”

“I bet that guy put something in your mouth,” he spat harshly, returning to his original position of glaring at the table. You gaped at him. The only sound that escaped your mouth was a choked imitation of “babo”, but you couldn’t get it out. You started to cry silent tears. You sniffed and shook, and at the sound, Jin twitched; he seemed to regret what he said, but you didn’t care. Your lips quivered from fear and from your restrained sobs.

“I’m going,” you whispered, turning on your heel before you could change your mind. You were mostly down the corridor when you heard his voice.

“Jagi, wait…! Jagi!” he tried to call you, but you kept walking away. You pulled on your shoes as he started to power-walk after you. “[F/N], don’t go!”

“Too late,” you hissed before you slammed the door shut. You thudded down the steps, and as your feet hit the asphalt, you heard the door open.

“[F/N], wait! I’m sorry!” Jin’s steps resounded behind you. You whipped around to face him, all of your senses blurry from hurt.

“Think really hard on what you want to say to me,” you growled, causing him to stop walking. “I will come over when you have some more sense.”

“[F/N]…” He looked defeated. You turned away once again.

“NO! [F/N], WAIT!” Jin’s almost carnal scream scared you, and you looked around wildly, trying to comprehend it. You heard him running, but you saw the headlights before he got close to you. The car’s horn and screeching wheels resounded in your head, mixing with Jin’s horrified voice. The impact knocked you unconscious immediately.

~…x…~

You couldn’t feel anything but your rapid heartbeat. The only sound was your heavy breathing. You tried desperately to see something, anything, but it seemed like you were flailing in a bottomless body of water.

Seokjin! you tried to call out. Your words got caught in your throat, and a fiery pain shot through your stomach. You tried to cough and splutter, but the thick liquid that surrounded you wouldn’t allow for it. You tried to scream, but it only put pressure on your ears.

Another sound resounded—a faint beeping thudded against the water. You felt like you were being dragged out of the liquid, up, up, up…

You tried to inhale, but you just… didn’t. You looked around the white room, but everything was fuzzy. Shapes finally came into focus, though, and you realized what was happening: you were in a bed, hooked to machines and an I.V. line. Jin was asleep at your bed, his arms folded to give him a makeshift pillow.

Seokjin, you choked out. Your voice had sound, but no substance. You were horrified at the sight in front of you. I’m not dead. I can’t be.

Jin woke up gasping; you realized he was sweating. His head swung back and forth as he checked around the room. He hung his head, looking at your comatose body and brushing your hair back. As he did, you felt a warm, feather-light touch against the same spot.

I can feel him. I’m not dead, you reassured yourself shakily. I’m not dead. You wanted to cry as you saw his eyes well up, but you were physically unable to do so. Seokjin… Seokjin don’t, you pleaded to no avail. He couldn’t hear you.

“It’s been a month, Jagi,” he murmured. He sounded in pain. You stood with something that felt like sickness in your heart. “Please, I love you, [F/N]…” He almost choked. You slumped to the ground, unable to comprehend your uselessness in this situation. You wanted to wake up more than anything in the world. You wanted to hold him and kiss him and tell him you were okay.

Wake up, you told yourself angrily. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up wake up wake up wakeupwakeupwakeup!

You heard Jin whimper, and it made you more determined. Wake UP! You felt a funny thudding in your chest.

“[F/N], I wanted to tell you that I…”

WAKE UP

You felt like you got punched in the chest, and you reeled back, gasping. You might have heard what Jin said, but you couldn’t remember. The pain in your stomach flared up again. You had never felt anything like this, like a fire raging throughout your body. You writhed on the floor, unable to scream. You clawed at the linoleum tiles, hoping to alleviate some of the pain by transferring it to the ground. Saliva dripped out of your mouth and was pressed against your cheek by the floor.

“[F/N], I wanted to tell you that I…” Jin was saying. Everything was black at that moment, and you couldn’t even feel your breathing anymore. He was sniffing and whimpering, holding back sobs. “I want… I want to marry you… so please, wake up…”

What was the last thing you guys said to each other? you wondered. You had a fight. The thought made you sick again; your first fight, and you couldn’t apologize to each other…

You felt the agony once more, and you groaned. You could actually hear your voice. The beeping of a monitor became known to your ears, and you slowly opened your eyes. The room was white, tiled, and blurry. The beeping became slightly erratic as you gained consciousness. Immediately to your right, a pretty boy was leaning on your bed. He had thick lips and soft, pretty-looking hair, and his face was swollen and wide-eyed; he’d been crying. You stared at him, confused. You tried to get your voice to work. Before the nurses came in, you finally managed to croak out the words you wanted:

“Who are you?”
