The placemat hat and adding machine purse were the two pieces that first inspired me when I was trying to figure out what to make for this show, then added the silver cat food bag for both skirt and top, with lampshade finishing up the top, wooden blinds overskirt, and one velvet dress cut up and distributed throughout.

Kinda a rough draft of floral placement for my main dress for the shift change challenge. Took the photos so I could sleep on it and look them over before decided to start sewing.
Any Austin stitchers interested, it’s basically an “Everyone has the same pattern” type thing, I can pass on the info. I believe the show is Dec 15th
The photos my mother got of me last night in my Shift Change Dress, a sheer dress meant to obscure the “offensive” parts of the nude form that’re also used to assign gender under a blanket of flowers, leaving the rest of the body mostly exposed.

- Handbag with a too small opening I made from an embroidered scrap of dress a sewing friend gave me
-almost sheer linen skirt from a matching pair of embroidered/appliqued tablecloths and napkins
-Skirt cut from a long dress with embroidered doily-thing cut in half and added as pockets
Recent project- I hacked this mothy WWII uniform shirt down to a short Ike jacket, then added a bunch of shoulder insignia I found in a baggie at the thrift store to the back, plus a few patches on the front.
I found this needlepoint tennis racket cover at the thrift store, and knew I had to make it into a purse. All fabrics and materials used are vintage and also came from the thrift
I realized I never uploaded photos of this coat I made tonight after discovering This Photo from the 1998 F/W Dior by John Galliano Haute Couture and thinking how similar the silhouette was. So of course I mimicked it.
The quilting squares were all my by latin women in the early 60s who would sign and date their patches. I was lucky enough to find them all in the thrift along with the pink canvas to go between. The lace is from a valance, and the reverse image of the appliqued woman was a dish towel.

Got bored, so I sloppily mended this vintage petticoat and did sooner intentionally messy alterations (including 1930s embroidery panels as pockets) and dug up this unfinished top frankensteined from linings and sleeves off other garments. Threw together a trashion selfie shoot since my camera and computer still aren't talking. Veil is an antique christening gown, pot with face is some weird thing from college
