After Jade’s mother died, she and her father Bennett lost their housing - Angelica Hobbs was the family’s breadwinner since Bennett struggles to hold down a steady job due to mental health issues. Now, he picks up odd jobs around the community to provide the basic necessities, while he, Jade, and their dog Sidney live in a mostly abandoned shipping yard.
