Sketchbox - Tumblr Posts

Showing off an art piece I did a while back with the second of three Sketchboxes my husband ordered for me as a gift. This box contained a Japanese ink stone with a black ink that I used to make the grey, as well as pens/bottles and brushes for the red, black, and white inks used. I saw the red and immediately thought of my canon Grey Warden from Dragon Age Origins, Castelin Cousland.

The Sketchbox subscription was fun to play with because it let me try out some new supplies, and also limit myself creatively to using only a pencil and what came in each box for an art project.

This piece is also a bit of a tease for a current fanfic WIP I'm working on, because it's a DAO fic featuring my Warden.

I'll be posting two more Sketchbox pieces later this week that are in a similar vein.

For the second of my Sketchbox drawings this week (though this was my third box), here's my canon Hawke, Aelinn Hawke, a force/spirit mage. This box was mostly marker-focused, but I'd already done my Inquisitor and my Warden with the other two boxes, so I had to think how the markers included would work for Hawke.

I really like how the pose turned out, and the coloring job isn't too shabby (I think) for someone who doesn't usually work with markers. The brown marker dripped on her face, unfortunately, but oh well.
