some foods smell funny some foods too chewy or not chewy enough some too sweet too bitter too salty and depending on the day i might need a specific type of food to stimulate or regulate myself my best friend is the best person in my life about my weird thing with food we travelled together recently and i ate the same meal like three dinners in a row cause i knew it was safe and since we got home i have also been making it (in batches) because i know its safe and im in a period where all i can stomach is safe but also she creates a good safe space for me to try new things and say no when i was a kid i got laughed at when i tried a new food and didnt like kt my mom would tease me or trick me into eating it by telling me it was something else and then laugh at me when i had a meltdown because the food i put in my mouth tasted wrong texture was off anyway just respect people and their relationship to food it can be complex and often were doing our best i want to have a broad pallette and try new things but i can only do that when i feel safe to do it ranting in the tags cause im sleed deprived and depressed
