okay I just finished reading Chapter Six of @bamsara’s Solar Lunacy and I realized something that, if Bam does in fact address later, will absolutely break my heart once I read it

The entire first half of the story is set before the events of the Security Breach game go down and Chapter Six has now established that Moon had most likely been suffering gradual damage starting at least two years prior (from what they could tell from the available security footage). This means that all triggered responses and agitated behavior stem from this one thing: this “glitch” as the protagonist calls it.

We know that both Sun and Moon were gravely affected by it (both psychologically and on a real world basis: Sun’s anxiety and pressure on keeping both close relationships as well as the company’s bad rep on the downlow, and Moon lost both his position as Naptime Attendant and lives with the guilt(???) of murdering/injuring human beings). We know they both wanted to keep the protagonist in the dark about it because they’re their “favorite friend.” They care about them.

Which means once the Night of the Game comes around, not only will Sun and Moon be subjected to being controlled and manipulated into becoming hostile monsters AGAIN, they’ll be forced to relive their trauma through seeking to hurt Gregory AND the Protagonist.

This time, the one person they care about the most will bear witness to their absolute worst, being hunted down with the intent to kill, and neither Sun nor Moon will have the power to stop it.
