My Heart's Sunshine

My Heart's Sunshine

As the early morning light filters through the window, Amaryllis snoozes peacefully in bed, while Jack, wide awake, lies beside her, gazing at her with adoration. He longs to hold her close and fall back asleep, but he knows he has to rouse his precious sunshine. So he runs his fingers through her hair, leaving feather-light kisses all over her face.

"Come on, Sunspot," he whispers, urging her to wake up. As Amaryllis stirs from her slumber, she feels Jack's soft lips on her skin and smiles sleepily. He plants a gentle kiss on her forehead and tells her it's time to start the day.

Jack can't help but gaze down at her with love, tracing his finger over her lips and leaning in for a tender kiss. "Mmm, morning beautiful. Did you sleep okay?" he asks, nuzzling his nose against her neck and peppering her with soft kisses.

Amaryllis responds with a smile, wrapping her arms around Jack's neck and drawing him closer. "Much better now," she murmurs, her lips brushing against his. They share a lingering kiss, and then Jack pulls back, his forehead resting against hers.

"Anything that you're looking forward to today?" he asks, his eyes sparkling. Amaryllis takes a deep breath, a dreamy expression on her face. "Just spending time with you," she says, her eyes twinkling.

She leans forward for another kiss, teasingly whispering, "In this bed." Jack blushes at her words, grinning as he leans in for another kiss and then nuzzles her nose. He playfully wiggles his eyebrows and runs his hand down her side. "Anything else?" he asks with a smirk.

Amaryllis shakes her head, snuggling into his chest. "Just that," she murmurs softly. They lie together in contented silence, basking in the warmth and love that surrounds them.

As Jack nuzzles Amaryllis' neck, she feels his warm breath on her skin and shivers with pleasure. She tightens her embrace around him and snuggles closer, not wanting to let go of the comforting warmth he provides. Jack's gentle kiss on her cheek sends shivers down her spine, and she smiles softly at his affectionate gesture.

"Let's go get breakfast," he whispers, his breath tickling her ear. She nods in agreement, feeling a rumble in her stomach at the thought of food. Jack stretches his arms and legs, and Amaryllis watches with amusement as he cracks his knuckles and shakes his head, waking up fully.

He then offers his hand to her, and she takes it eagerly, feeling the warmth of his palm against hers. He pulls her up gently, and they walk out of the bedroom, hand in hand. The morning light floods the hallway, and Amaryllis blinks a few times, adjusting her eyes to the brightness.

As Jack cooks, the mouth-watering aroma of pancakes and bacon fills the kitchen. He happily hums to himself as he works, his movements smooth and practiced from experience. Amaryllis watches him with a fond expression, taking in every detail of his appearance. His messy hair is still slightly disheveled from sleep, but it suits him. The way his broad shoulders move as he works, and the gentle curve of his lips as he sings, make her heart flutter.

When he turns to her with that beaming smile, her heart melts. She can't help but feel lucky to have him in her life. "How does pancakes and bacon sound, sweetheart?" he asks, his voice filled with genuine warmth and affection. She nods, smiling in agreement. "That sounds perfect."

As Jack sets the food down on the table, Amaryllis takes in the sight of the perfectly golden pancakes, crisp bacon, and scrambled eggs. She takes a seat at the table and watches as he expertly flips the pancakes, humming along to the tune he's singing.

When he sits beside her, his gaze never leaving hers, she feels a warmth spreading through her chest. His adoring expression is enough to make her feel loved and cherished. "Here you go, sunshine. Go ahead and dig in. Don't want the food to get cold." Jack offers her a plate filled with steaming hot food. She takes the plate with both hands, and as she takes her first bite, the delicious flavors burst in her mouth, making her sigh in contentment.

Between bites, they share small talk, but mostly, they revel in each other's presence, enjoying the quiet and comforting atmosphere that surrounds them. Amaryllis reaches across the table, takes Jack's free hand in hers, and gives it a tender squeeze, expressing her love and gratitude for him in that single gesture. Jack smiles at her, feeling the love and appreciation she has for him.

Jack watches as she enjoys her breakfast, feeling content and grateful for the moment they are sharing together. He smiles wide seeing her enjoying the food, but his heart melts as he feels her grip his hand. He feels a sense of warmth and love as she squeezes his hand back gently before he pulls it to his lips. He kisses the top of her hand with love, then lets it go. He chuckles at the sappy moment, but he feels content with it. It just felt right.

She notices his tenderness and smiles back warmly, feeling the same love he does. Their connection is undeniable, and they both understand that their love is strong and growing stronger with each passing moment. Jack leans closer, feeling a spark of mischief. "After breakfast, you wanna go to the park?" Jack asks with a smirk and wiggles his eyebrows. "Or do you wanna stay here and watch movies?" He looks playfully at her, hoping she'll choose to stay with him.

She grins and wraps her arms around his neck, feeling playful as well. "Let's stay here," she says. "I'd like to spend more time with you." She pulls him closer, her eyes twinkling with joy. "If that's okay with you, Jack," she whispers, pressing a tender kiss to his cheek.

As Amaryllis speaks, Jack's heart fills with happiness and his eyes light up like two shining diamonds. His face breaks out into a wide and genuine smile, spreading from ear to ear, revealing his pure joy. Without hesitation, Jack leans down towards Amaryllis, his eyes locked onto hers. He tenderly takes her face in his hands and presses his lips against hers in a deep and passionate kiss. As their lips meet, Jack pours out his love for Amaryllis, showing her just how much he appreciates her and cherishes their relationship.

After a few moments, Jack pulls away from the kiss, a small pop sound escaping from their parted lips. His eyes continue to sparkle with delight, and his smile is wider than ever. He can feel the love radiating from Amaryllis, and it only intensifies the warmth in his heart. "Oh, it's definitely okay, sweetheart," he says, his voice filled with tenderness and affection.

Amaryllis's heart flutters with joy at Jack's response. She can feel the love radiating from him and it fills her with warmth. She smiles softly and nuzzles her nose against his. "I'm glad," she whispers, her voice filled with love. "I just want to spend as much time with you as possible." Amaryllis leans in for another kiss, savoring the taste of his lips as she can taste the sweetness of their breakfast on his tongue. Her hands slide down his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath her fingertips.

As they break away from their kiss, Amaryllis's cheeks flush with a rosy hue. She gazes up at Jack with a loving expression, feeling grateful for every moment they spend together. "You make me so happy," she whispers, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "I'm so lucky to have you."

Jack's heart swells with happiness as he feels Amaryllis's warm breath against his face. He closes his eyes and savors the moment, the feeling of her soft lips against his own. He pulls her in close, wrapping his arms around her waist and holding her tightly. The two of them sit there, lost in each other's embrace until finally, Jack pulls away slightly to catch his breath.

He looks deeply into her eyes, his own sparkling with love and affection. "You know I feel the same way," he says softly. "I want to spend every moment I can with you." Jack leans in and brushes his lips against hers, teasingly, before pulling back and grinning. "But first, let's finish up breakfast, shall we?"

Amaryllis giggles and nods, feeling giddy with happiness. She takes a sip of her coffee, still basking in the warmth of Jack's embrace. The two of them chat idly as they finish their meal, stealing sweet glances and small touches whenever they can.

After a few moments, she looks into his eyes, her own eyes shining with affection. "I love you, Jack," she says, her voice soft but certain. "More than anything in this world." She reaches up to gently stroke his cheek, her touch gentle and loving.

Amaryllis's confession of love fills Jack's heart with joy and warmth. He feels his eyes welling up with tears as he realizes how lucky he is to have such a wonderful person in his life. He takes her hand and brings it to his lips, kissing it gently. "I love you more than words can express, Amaryllis," he says, his voice filled with emotion. "You are my everything."

He leans in and presses his forehead against hers, their eyes locked in an intense gaze. His heart races as he realizes how much he needs her in his life. He gently caresses her cheek, his touch filled with love and tenderness. He knows he can never let go of her, not now, not ever. He smiles at her and they enjoy the moment together in silence. He finally feels complete.

Amaryllis feels Jack's lips moving against hers, his breath hot and sweet. Her heart races with excitement and anticipation, and she feels her body responding to him instinctively. She wraps her arms around him, pulling him even closer, deepening the kiss. As they kiss, she feels their connection deepening, the love between them growing stronger and more intense.

When Jack pulls away from her, Amaryllis gazes up at him, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. His eyes are bright and full of love, and she knows that she is exactly where she is meant to be. "I love you so much," she whispers, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jack leans in and presses a soft kiss to her forehead, his arms still wrapped tightly around her. "I love you too, more than anything," he says, his voice filled with emotion.

As they sit there, holding each other, Amaryllis realizes that this moment is just the beginning of their journey together. She knows that they will face challenges, but she is ready to face them with Jack by her side. She knows that with his love and support, they can conquer anything that comes their way.

She rests her head on his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. In this moment, she feels safe, loved, and complete. She knows that they have a lifetime of love and happiness ahead of them, and she is ready to embrace it all with Jack by her side.

Shot At Love I

Before the start of her shift at Yogurtopia, Sofia is overcome with a mix of anticipation and anxiety. While she is grateful for the job that pays her bills, she can't help but feel eager to leave it behind. After all, Sofia is just a few weeks away from leaving Yogurtopia thanks to the online platform she has built. Through her platform, she has been able to secure financial stability and pursue her dream of becoming a successful musician.

Sofia occupies herself by checking her phone and listening to music while waiting for customers to arrive. She is lost in daydreams of her future, imagining a life where she no longer has to work in a yogurt shop and can focus solely on her music. Sofia reflects on the sacrifices she has made to get to where she is today and feels proud of her accomplishments. She reminds herself that one day, all her hard work will pay off.

As she takes a deep breath and stands up, ready to greet the next customer, Sofia feels a sense of determination. She greets each customer with a friendly smile, even though she doesn't particularly enjoy her job. She remains professional and courteous, knowing that every customer matters.

Sofia helps customers choose their toppings and weigh their cups, all the while consumed with thoughts of her music and her impending departure from Yogurtopia. She can't wait to devote all her time and energy to her passion, now that her financial stability is secured. Despite the dullness of her current job, Sofia is grateful for the experience and the opportunities it has provided her. She feels ready to move on to the next phase of her life and chase her dreams with everything she's got.

Sofia was lost in her thoughts, gazing absently at the wall of frozen yogurt dispensers, when she heard the door chime signaling the arrival of customers. As she turned her head to see who had entered, her eyes immediately fixed on a striking figure among the group of men walking into Yogurtopia. His hair was midnight violet and his fair complexion was framed by light blue accents that made his features stand out. Sofia's attention was drawn to the eyebrow piercing and the tattoo of a broken heart under his eye, adding to his unique and edgy look. For a moment, Sofia stared at him, captivated by his appearance, before quickly turning away and putting on a professional expression.

A sigh of embarrassment escaped Sofia's lips as she greeted the three guys with her usual cheerful welcome, "Welcome one, welcome all to Popov's Big Top Yogurtopiaaaaa." She cringed inwardly, hoping they wouldn't notice her embarrassing greeting. She looked up to see that the guys were already scanning the flavors, not paying much attention to her. Feeling relieved, she took a moment to observe them more closely, admiring their different styles and personalities.

Just as she was about to turn away, Sofia noticed another couple walk in, hand in hand, their happiness together evident. As she watched them, Sofia's heart sank a little, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. The memory of her failed relationship with her ex-boyfriend, who had cheated on her, came rushing back, and she felt a wave of sadness wash over her. But as soon as she became aware of the feeling, Sofia shook it off and forced herself to focus on her work.

With a bright smile, Sofia greeted the couple, "Welcome one, welcome all to Popov's Big Top Yogurtopiaaaaa. Do you need help finding anything today?" The couple smiled politely and replied that they were just browsing, which Sofia understood as their way of saying they needed some time to decide what they wanted. "Sure, take your time and let me know if you need any help," Sofia replied cheerfully, hoping they would enjoy their visit to Yogurtopia.

As she watched the couple make their way to the wall of frozen yogurt dispensers, Sofia's eyes followed their every move as they took turns pulling the levers and filling their cups with the creamy dessert. She couldn't help but feel a tinge of envy at the sight of their happiness. Sofia wondered what it would be like to have someone to share moments like this with. She couldn't help but feel a little lonely as she had been focusing so much on her online music platform lately. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching her, and she turned to face the direction of the sound, ready to assist the next customer.

She recognizes the guy from earlier, and her eyes quickly scan his appearance again. She notices the slight flush on his cheeks, and her eyes settle on his face, taking a moment to drink in his appearance. As he clears his throat and speaks, Sofia notices how his voice is low and soft, causing her heart to skip a beat. He fidgets a little, and Sofia can see that he is blushing, which causes her to smile involuntarily. "Hey. Can we get these?" he asks, his words hesitant and careful. "Please, I mean. Haha..." He trails off, setting the last cup of frozen yogurt on the scale. Sofia notes how he seems a little nervous, and she feels a flutter in her stomach at the sight of his vulnerability.

Sofia takes a closer look at him now that he's closer and notices the depth of his dark brown eyes, which seem to contain a universe of emotion within them. His irises are like pools of melted chocolate, deep and rich, with flecks of amber around the pupils. She feels herself getting lost in those eyes for a moment before she shakes her head slightly to regain her focus. "Of course," she replies with a smile, punching in the code for the yogurt flavor he had selected.

Sofia's fingers deftly work the register, weighing out the frozen yogurt cups with practiced ease. She swipes the guy's card without looking up, but she feels a flutter in her stomach as she hears his voice again. "Thanks," he says softly, and Sofia can't help but glance up at him. Their eyes meet for a brief moment, and she notices the way his dark brown eyes seem to twinkle in the bright lights of the yogurt shop. She smiles warmly at him, returning his card and receipt with a little wave as his friends begin to make their way out of the shop.

But the guy lingers, and Sofia feels a pang of nervousness in her chest. She can't help but wonder what he wants, and why he's still here. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" she asks, hoping her voice doesn't betray her nerves.

He clears his throat again, looking down at his feet before meeting her eyes once more. "You...Uh...You work here, right?" Sofia nods, still smiling, and playfully plucks at her name tag. "Well, I did just ring you up," she teases, hoping to put him at ease. He scratches the back of his head as he looks away for a moment before meeting her eyes again. "...Cool. Cool," he stammers, clearly flustered. He then grabs his cup and joins his friends who are already heading for the door.

Once the group leaves, Sofia lets out a small sigh and glances down at her watch, realizing that she only has a few hours left until the store closes. She begins wiping down the counters and rearranging the toppings station, trying to stay occupied and keep her mind off the long day ahead of her.

As the last customer left and the store was finally closed, Sofia let out a sigh of relief and began the tedious task of cleaning up. But as she wiped down the counters and put away the toppings, her mind kept wandering back to the cute and shy guy who had visited earlier.

"Why didn't I just ask for his name or something?" she muttered to herself as she scrubbed a particularly stubborn spot on the counter. "I mean, he was clearly interested, right? But then again, it's not like I can just ask for a customer's number, can I?"

She paused for a moment, considering the idea. "Well, maybe if he comes back again," she thought out loud. "I could strike up a conversation and see where it goes. I mean, what's the harm in that?"

Sofia shook her head, trying to shake off the disappointment of the missed opportunity. "I don't know why I'm so bad at this," she grumbled to herself as she moved on to wiping down the yogurt dispensers. "I guess I just freeze up around cute guys."

As she finished up the last of the cleaning, Sofia made a mental note to keep an eye out for the cute and shy guy the next time he visited. Maybe she could redeem herself and actually ask for his name or number this time. But for now, she was just glad to have the store all cleaned up and ready for another day.

Shot At Love I

As Nick walked through the door of his small apartment, he was greeted by his two Pomeranian dogs, Pico and Cheese. "Hey, mis pequeñas tortillas," he said to them in Spanish, scooping them up in his arms. "Did you miss me?" They licked his face in response, and he chuckled before setting them back down on the ground.

As he started to unwind from his day, Nick couldn't help but think about the cute girl at the frozen yogurt shop. He replayed the interaction over and over in his head, kicking himself for not being more forward. "Why am I such a chicken?" he muttered to himself, switching back and forth between English and Spanish.

"Por qué no pedí su número?" he asked the dogs, who looked up at him with their big, brown eyes. "Do you think she would have given it to me?" The dogs barked in response, and he laughed before scratching their heads.

He sat down on the couch, feeling a mix of regret and excitement. "What if I see her again? Should I ask for her name then?" he wondered aloud. "What if she thinks I'm weird or creepy for coming back?" Pico and Cheese tilted their heads, seemingly confused by Nick's distress.

Despite his reservations, Nick couldn't help but feel drawn to the girl from the yogurt shop. "Maybe I'll go back there tomorrow and see if she's working," he said to Pico and Cheese. "And this time, I'll have the courage to ask for her name."

As he sits on his couch, his mind is going back and forth about what to do. "But wait, what if she has a boyfriend?" he asked Pico and Cheese. "I don't want to be that guy who tries to hit on someone who's already taken."

He paced around the room, his mind racing with possibilities. "But what if she's single?" he said, feeling hopeful. "I could ask her out and maybe we could go get dinner or something."

The dogs looked up at him as if sensing his internal struggle. "What do you guys think? Should I go for it?" he asked, stroking their fur.

Nick sat back down on the couch, his mind made up. "I'm going to go back there tomorrow and shoot my shot," he declared to the dogs. "If she says no, then at least I'll know and I can move on. But if she says yes, then who knows what could happen?"

Pico and Cheese barked in agreement, and Nick grinned. "Thanks for the support," he said, standing up and stretching. Nick scooped up Pico and Cheese in his arms and stood up. "Alright, mis amores, it's time for bed," he said to them, carrying them towards his bedroom.

Finally, he settled into bed with the dogs snuggled up beside him. "Goodnight, mis pequeñas tortillas," he said to them, kissing them both on the head. "I hope tomorrow goes well."

As he closed his eyes, Nick couldn't help but imagine all the possibilities that could come from meeting the girl again. He drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face, eagerly anticipating what the next day would bring.

A Symphony of Healing : Part 1

A Symphony Of Healing : Part 1

On a serene Thursday evening, the lively cacophony of the city beyond contrasted sharply with the quietude within Sofia's apartment. The walls, once echoic with joy and laughter, now seemed to soak up her quiet despair. A layer of dust had gathered on her cherished vinyl collection, and the once pervasive scent of spicy cuisine had vanished, leaving a void of emptiness in its wake.

Alone, Sofia found herself ensnared in a loop of tumultuous thoughts. The burden of Ian's betrayal weighed on her heavily, unrelenting and oppressive. His visage, previously emblematic of love and trust, was now marred by the reality of his infidelity. 'Why wasn't I enough?' she pondered, as she battled the advancing shadows of doubt.

In the wake of Ian's departure, the apartment felt overwhelmingly spacious and unbearably cold. Their long-distance relationship, sustained while he pursued an acting career, had disintegrated under the weight of his deeds. This space, once a haven of mutual aspirations and commitments, now resonated with the stark reminder of her solitude.

The piano, silent for too long in the corner, served as a poignant emblem of the aspirations Sofia had deferred for Ian. Her music, which had once been a lively and integral part of her existence, lay muted in the chase of a future that had slipped through her fingers.

A gentle knock pierced the silence of the apartment, rousing Sofia from her introspective state. With a blend of reluctance and curiosity, she moved towards the door. Upon opening it, she found Shaun standing before her, his expression of worry and kindness, offering a stark contrast to the loneliness of her surroundings.

"Hey, Sofia," he greeted her softly, his eyes scanning her face with care, trying to gauge her true state of mind. "I thought I'd check on you. Can I come in?" With a slight nod, Sofia stepped aside, allowing him to enter. The apartment, once alive with vibrancy and shared aspirations, now mirrored the quiet despair of her heartache.

Shaun walked in, taking in the subdued ambiance before settling on the sofa. His sitting down was a tacit invitation for her to join him. “How have you been?” he inquired, his tone gentle, echoing his sincere concern.

Sofia shut the door softly behind her and made her way to the couch, her movements slow, almost contemplative. She took a seat next to him, ensuring a modest gap remained between them, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've been managing, I suppose," she started, her gaze evading his. "It's just hard. Hard to accept that everything with Ian... it was all built on lies."

Shaun reached out, placing his hand gently on her shoulder in a gesture of solace. "I know it's tough," he spoke softly, his tone reassuring. "And it’s completely okay to feel lost right now. Just remember, you’re not going through this alone."

Sofia exhaled a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumping slightly under the weight of her emotions. "It's like everything in here reminds me of him, every corner of this apartment," she said, her voice carrying a blend of sorrow and fatigue.

Shaun responded with a nod of empathy, his touch on her shoulder a quiet pillar of support. "Healing takes time," he said thoughtfully. "But I know you, Sofia. You’re strong, even stronger than you might believe. You’ll find a way to make these spaces yours again, to replace the old memories with new ones.”

In the ensuing quiet, a comforting bond was formed, anchored in silent empathy and mutual support. Sofia found solace in Shaun's company, his friendship a beacon of stability in the tumultuous aftermath of her recent experiences, a gentle reminder that she was not navigating her grief alone.

"Thank you for being here, Shaun," Sofia said after a moment, her voice infused with newfound resolve. "It means the world to have someone to talk to." Shaun offered a warm, comforting smile in response. "Always," he assured her. "We're in this together. When you're ready, we'll fill this place with new memories. Until then, it's completely okay to experience your emotions, to mourn, and to heal on your terms."

As they lingered in the serene ambiance of the apartment, Sofia was enveloped by a surge of emotions. Shaun's words, laden with understanding and kindness, touched her profoundly, gently unlocking a part of her heart she had long attempted to keep closed.

As Sofia's eyes brimmed with tears, the barriers she had meticulously built to shield her heart from her deep-seated pain and sense of betrayal began to crumble. Tears cascaded down her cheeks, their initial trickle soon becoming a deluge, signifying the collapse of her emotional defenses.

Shaun, attuned to the subtle shifts in her demeanor—the quiver of her lip, the silent tears streaking her face—opened his arms in a silent gesture of comfort and sanctuary. Sofia, her sobs convulsing through her, sought refuge in his embrace, finding solace as he wrapped his arms around her, offering warmth and protection.

In the security of Shaun's embrace, Sofia found a gentle strength, a sharing of her grief's burden. His hand tenderly cradled the back of her head, fingers threading through her hair in a calming cadence that echoed his steady heartbeat. The other arm encircled her, anchoring her amidst her emotional tempest.

Encased in Shaun's arms, Sofia experienced a momentary haven, a pause in the storm of her inner turmoil. Her unrestrained tears soaked into Shaun’s shirt, each drop a release of her accumulated hurt and a testament to the depth of their connection and the strength of their bond.

Throughout this poignant moment, Shaun offered no words, recognizing that silence held its profound form of communication. His presence alone was a testament to unwavering support, a silent promise that he was there for her. As Sofia wept, a transformative shift began to take root within her—a crucial step towards healing, a hint of light amidst the shadows of her sorrow.

Shaun's embrace transcended mere physical consolation, embodying the resilience and depth of their friendship. It reassured Sofia that even in her most exposed moments, solitude was far from her reality. This embrace, both tender and secure, served as a powerful reminder that she could navigate the storm of her current despair, one step at a time.

With time, the intensity of Sofia's tears waned, her cries softening to gentle, intermittent sniffles. Shaun's embrace remained steadfast, a symbol of his enduring support, patiently waiting until Sofia was ready to break the silence. Their breathing began to align, creating a serene accord amidst the chaos of raw emotions.

Eventually, Sofia leaned back to look at Shaun, her eyes, though tear-stained and tired, sparkled with appreciation. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice raspy from the tears. "I didn't know how much I needed this." Shaun responded with a soft, empathetic smile. "Sometimes, we just need to let it all out," he said gently. "It's okay to not be okay."

A small smile began to form on Sofia's lips as she dabbed at her eyes, removing the last traces of her tears. She felt a measure of release, as though the act of crying had eased some of the burden she carried. "You've always been there for me, Shaun," she acknowledged, her voice steadier now.  "Even when I lost myself in everything else, in... in Ian."

Shaun's expression softened. "That's what friends are for,"  he replied with heartfelt simplicity. "I'm just glad I can be here for you now, like you've been for me in the past."

The atmosphere settled into a comforting quiet, woven with new threads of understanding and kinship. Sofia found herself easing back into the sofa, a sense of stability returning as Shaun's unwavering support seemed to tether her to reality. "You always know how to make things better," Sofia said, a hint of her usual warmth returning to her voice. "I guess I've got a long road ahead, huh?"

Shaun agreed with a nod. "Maybe, but you don't have to walk it alone. We'll take it one step at a time. And who knows? Along the way, you might rediscover parts of yourself you thought were lost."

Sofia considered this, the idea bringing a small sense of hope. The journey of healing and rediscovery wouldn't be easy, but with Shaun by her side, it seemed a little less daunting. She had a friend who understood her, who stood by her through the darkest times, and who believed in her strength even when she doubted it herself.

In the wake of their deep, emotional exchange and Sofia's cathartic tears, Shaun felt it was time to gently shift the atmosphere. He delved into his bag, retrieving a small package wrapped with care, and presented it to Sofia.

"I thought you could use a little surprise," Shaun remarked, his voice carrying a lighter tone in hopes of brightening the mood.

Sofia eyed the gift with curiosity and anticipation. Unwrapping it, she discovered a novel nestled within the paper—a recent installment from her beloved thriller series, one she hadn't yet had the chance to explore.

"I remembered you mentioning this one," Shaun explained, a soft smile on his face. "Thought it might be a good distraction, something to get lost in for a while." The gesture sparked a sincere smile on Sofia's face, a sign of genuine joy that had been absent for too long. "Shaun, this is perfect. Thank you," she said, her spirits visibly lifted by the thoughtful gesture.

Following the unwrapping of the thriller novel, Shaun's expression lit up with another idea. He delved into his bag once more, emerging with a DVD. “And I've got this,” he announced, brandishing it. “Thought it might be fun to watch together. It's one of those classic comedies we couldn't get enough of back in our college days.”

The sight of the movie brought a spark of excitement to Sofia's eyes. “Wow, it’s been ages since I last saw this,” she said, her smile reflecting genuine pleasure. “That sounds like a great idea.”

While Shaun handled the DVD player setup, Sofia busied herself in the kitchen, whipping up some snacks reminiscent of their college movie marathons. They cozied up on the couch as the opening credits rolled, the room soon echoing with the comedic film's lively sounds, dispelling the earlier gloom.

Engrossed in the movie, Shaun and Sofia laughed together at the well-remembered jokes and antics on screen, the shared humor weaving restorative magic. The film acted as a portal to a timeless burdened by life's complexities, reviving the essence of the light-hearted moments that had defined their friendship.

Every so often, Shaun stole glances at Sofia, heartened to see her laughter and the temporary lifting of her sorrows. He understood that while the film couldn't wipe away her grief, any relief it provided, however brief, was invaluable.

As the movie unfolded, with its comedic scenes offering a brief escape, the accumulated emotional weight Sofia had been carrying started to become apparent. Initially buoyant with laughter, she gradually became subdued as the film progressed towards its conclusion. The combined effects of Shaun's comforting presence, the cozy ambiance, and her emotional fatigue cultivated a tranquil environment.

Her eyelids began to droop, the strain that had kept her alert slowly dissolving, inviting the rest she had sorely missed. Unconsciously, Sofia started to lean towards Shaun, her head eventually finding solace on his shoulder.

Shaun, perceiving her shift towards sleep, looked down to find her eyes closing, her breathing deepening into the calm cadence of slumber. With a gentle care to avoid disturbing her, he shifted to provide a more comfortable support, turning his shoulder into a pillow. He then tenderly covered her with a throw blanket, ensuring she remained warm and snug.

As Sofia rested beside him, Shaun was enveloped in a sense of protective care. He remained vigilant, a guardian ensuring her peace amidst the chaos that had shadowed her. The ongoing movie became mere background noise, his focus entirely on the tranquil figure of his friend, now escaping her strife in sleep.

Even as the movie concluded and the credits scrolled by, Shaun stayed motionless, cautious not to disturb Sofia's needed rest. In the dim light of the TV, he reflected on their shared path ahead. The night's quiet deepened, and as Sofia lay peacefully, Shaun's contemplation turned introspective, his gaze softening with fondness and worry.

Friendship had always been the bedrock of his feelings for Sofia, yet over time, those feelings had evolved, deepening into a more profound affection he had yet to fully embrace. Observing her in such a trusting, vulnerable state ignited a warmth within him, an unspoken acknowledgment of his love for her that transcended mere friendship.

Amidst this clarity, Shaun recognized the necessity of patience. With Sofia navigating her way through a period of significant emotional recovery, his priority remained her well-being, placing his burgeoning feelings on a gentle pause. He resolved to support her, valuing their friendship above all, allowing his deeper emotions to quietly simmer, awaiting a more opportune moment to surface, if such a time should ever arrive.

Engulfed by these reflections, fatigue began to claim Shaun as well. The day’s emotional toll, compounded by the late hour, beckoned sleep with a heavy hand. Despite his intentions to remain vigilant for Sofia's sake, the enveloping warmth of the couch and the soothing cadence of her breath nudged him towards slumber.

As sleep’s gentle tug blurred the lines of awareness, Shaun found himself instinctively drawn closer to Sofia, seeking the solace of her nearness. His head, in a tender, almost dreamlike motion, found a resting place beside hers, their proximity a silent testament to their deep, albeit unacknowledged, emotional connection.

As they drifted into sleep, a serene harmony enveloped them, their physical closeness mirroring the deep emotional connection they shared. The outside world receded, leaving them in a tranquil haven of companionship and shared trust.

Kittycat Comfort(!)

This specific ask I had attempted to do ages ago- but felt like it needed to be taken care of delicately. I did a bunch of research in my spare time, looking into different forms of chronic pains and how it affects the people with them. I hope that those who have chronic pain find some comfort from this, as well as people who just love Shaun. ^^

(𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚍 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗)

As MC layed in bed, almost silent groans and whimpers of pain escaped them. Every hint of light and sound sent harsh pangs through their skull. The vibrations, no matter how small, causing their vision to shake as tears formed at the corners of their eyes and getting soaked up by the black out blindfold they had on.

Chronic migraines- it was something passed down to them through their family line, a trait from their mother's side and it something that they'd always had to deal with even as a child. Ian used to help with them before he left for college- but this time he was the one to cause it, with Shaun being the only one around able to help his friend.

Unfornately though, Shaun hadn't been exactly...helpful. Currently he resided in the living room, shouting at MC's phone- more over shouting at Ian through the phone.

The ginger's desperate attempts to rekindle his old flame with MC turning out fruitless, no matter how much he begged for another chance. MC's still bleeding heart causing them to feel overwhelming amounts of guilt and stress for rejecting and ignoring the one person they had since childhood- but it was for the better. He cheated on them, after all.

Moonpie, being the sweet angel she is, was gently kneeding MC's chest- trying to provide even the smallest bit of relief to the aches rushing through them. Their noise canceling headphones were probably on the coffee table in the living room where Shaun was going off, so they were unattainable at this moment.

The lack of light was helping a little, but hearing the flim director shout through the bedroom door with his voice bouncing off the apartment walls- it made them feel like their eyes and brain were vibrating within their skull just behind their eyelids.

As if it couldn't get any worse, their joints ached just as badly- another chronic ailment they indured due to standing up for Ian throughout their school years, taking the beatings and getting into fights in his stead. Which made it really easy for them to pin the blame on him even further- but chose not too. They made the decision to stand up for him, so they paid the price for being so ignorant to think that the bullies wouldn't try to get back at them afterwards.

When the shouting faded out, MC let out a silent sigh of relief- the vibrations calming down slowly, still present but not as bad. Moonpie took notice at the difference in comfort immediately- carefully laying down and putting her small gray head underneath their chin, a reminder that she was there despite them both being blind at the moment. "You really are a little angel Moonie" they whispered softly, feeling the cat purr softly in response as if understanding their words.

A soft creaking could be heard from the room's door, followed but the smell of peppermint tea- and careful footsteps crossing the room. The soft thud of the mug hitting the nightstand made me jump softly, reaching up carefully to pick Moonpie off of my chest and set her in my lap so I could sit up.

More shuffling was heard before the curtains were drawn closed, Shaun might've been new to this- but he must've done research. Or maybe Ian told him what to do before the call ended? With the curtains now closed, I carefully reached up to lift the blindfold off so I could let my eyes adjust to the wider vast of darkness.

As my eyes adjusted I saw and felt Shaun sit at the edge of the bed with a notebook, one dedicated for times like this when too much sound would be too much for me to handle. The notebook light was turned on, adjusted to only show the paper and not reflect into my eyes. Carefully I grabbed for the mug he had brought me, taking a slow sip of the hot beverage- the caffiene and strong peppermint smell taking my mind off the thrumming in my skull slightly.

The note book was turned towards me, messy text written on it: 'Sorry about all the yelling- I don't know how you put up with him for so long. Is the tea good? Should I get you an icepack? Run you a warm, candle lit bath?'

I smile softly, putting my mug down and taking the pen from him and writing a quick reply- circling the option for a bath as well. 'The tea is perfect, thank you. No icepack, too cold but a cool towel will do wonders during that bath. My eyes feel like they're on fire right now. lol'

I could see him nod and get up quickly and as quietly as he could manage, he leaves the room- careful to let as little light through the door as possible. I put the notebook on the nightstand and retake my mug of tea, enjoying it's bittersweetness as it soothed the aches a bit warmed me from the inside out. Through the wall I could hear the bath start, and Shaun talking to himself as he looked through cabinets to find everything he'd need.

Moonpie sat up from my lap with a stretch, jumping off me to the floor- she's gotten very familiar with the apartment's lay out despite the relatively short three weeks she's been here. She's a very smart cat, doesn't let her lack of sight limit her- I'm almost envious of her. Almost. With her on the ground now, I carefully got up- cup in hand as I approached door cautious to not accidentally step on the small cat.

I carefully open the door, bracing myself for the light- but finding there to be none. Had he turned off the lights and closed the curtains as soon as he left? Not even Ian had been done that- mainly cause he forgot too but whatever. I have to get him off my mind before his presence there make migraine worse. It's relieving that Shaun hadn't made ginger tea, I probably wouldn't have been able to stomach it.

I carefully walked to the bathroom despite the aches in my joints, Moonpie following close behind- her small footsteps and gentle purrs being the only thing letting me know she was indeed there. Once I entered the room Shaun looked back at me shocked, before he whispered as soft as he could manage. "You should've waited in the room- I would've carried you." he says standing up, after placing the final candle. The gentle fire's light not stinging my eyes as much as the sun or artifical ones do.

"Oh yeah? You gonna strip me too Cofer?" I tease softly before shooing him softly while putting my mug on the back of the toilet. "Now get out for a bit, I'm gonna get in." I said, he quickly followed the order- taking Moonpie out with him, her letting out a meow that sounded like a complaint somehow.

Slowly I removed my clothes from earlier- the fabric feeling too constricting at the moment before slipping into the bath, a dense layer of bubbles over the top making it impossible to see into the water. The warm water soothed my joints, taking away all gravity and pressure that made them ache for the moment. Under the waters, I massaged my main joint locations my elbows, knees, wrists, and ankles. A soft knock rang through the bathroom.

"It's safe." I whisper, leaning back into the tub- bubbles coming up to my neck. Shaun slips in carrying a large bowl and a soft hand towel, Moonpie hot on his tail. "Here's the ice water for the towel, I'll wet it for you. Do you want me to stay here with you, or would you rather be alone?" he asked delicately, kneeling down before the tub- putting the bowl on the toilet as he put the towel into the water and rung it out as much as possible and refolded it.

Carefully he reached over and put it over my forehead and eyes, careful to not put it over my nose. I leaned my head back against the tub so the towel would stay on. "You can and Moony can stay if you'd like, I don't mind- not like you can see past the bubbles anyways." I reply softly with a short chuckle.

He hums softly and shuffling could be heard, sitting down with his back to the wall most likely. "Why don't you just block him?" he asked softly, a meow attesting to his question. "I'd feel bad...besides- he's one of the few things left from my childhood Shaun. I need time to heal before I make any rash decisions." I explained softly with a sigh.

With a huff he groans lightly, "Fiiine- guess I'll just have to be here for you then. Make sure you don't do anything stupid on your own." he teased, making me laugh softly. "Thank you Shaun." I say with a smile.

"Anytime MC. Anytime."
