Sora didn’t find Yamato cute at all. Of course not. They were friends. And friends didn’t believe that their other friend might just be hands down the single most good-looking guy on the face of the planet. Her thoughts on Yamato’s new hairstyle were exactly the same as her thoughts on Taichi’s – both of these boys needed a trim. She hadn’t ever wondered what it might feel like to run her fingers through his blond locks. No way. That was definitely not a thought that Sora Takenouchi had ever had. The only reason she was so annoyed by his obsessive fangirls was because of how much they bothered him. That’s all. That really was the entirety of the explanation. And, of course, she was upset when he seemed to be troubled by something – they were friends after all – and she spent the exact same amount of time coming up with ways to make him feel better that she would have for any other friend. Not a second more and not a second less.

She didn’t think that he was adorable when he became embarrassed and flustered. She didn’t find it endearing when he sent her a good luck message before a big match or when he texted to make sure that she’d gotten home safely. Her frequent changes in colour whenever he was around were due to how hot it was this summer and not actually… you know… the fact that he was around. And her heart continued to beat at a perfectly reasonable rate every time he smirked at her.
