Best advice to someone starting out on writing fics and getting on fangirl socmed how can i be friends with people

i don't know if i have any advice for this, not least because i didn't follow a pattern before starting these things, but... i can tell you what i did.

first of all, treat writing as a hobby. don't write out of pressure or thinking that people will forget you just because you don't post. i think it has to become fun (for both the person who consumes it and the person who writes it) so don't make it sound like people owe each other.

second is: to make friends you need to be yourself. interact with stories and writers, talk about your writing... but in a natural way. unfortunately nowadays there are people here who only interact with relatively large accounts or care about the number of likes on their writing. there's no problem with that really, but always be transparent. whether you interact with large accounts or not. have a calm heart, good intentions with any conversation!
