Your legs bounces up and down as the realization hits you.

You’re not a regretful person. You don’t regret accidentally taking a raccoon home instead of your beloved dog or how you showed a Jacob Elordi edit in front of your English class when you meant to present your presentation on “The Outsiders”.

But fake dating? not your smartest idea…

You have to be crazy for suggesting it. You have to be even crazier to agree to it. But what do you expect from a down bad admirer and a girl who wishes to move on?

The adored cat-like boy sitting across from you, felt his hands get sweaty. He knows you’re here to lay out some ground rules, but this was basically a date in his eyes!

You two sat in awkward silence, unsure on how to start the conversation. “Can’t believe your ex hates my guts… I'm just a silly little guy!” he joked out and you let a giggle slip out.

After that small joke he made, you guys were able to relax and have a smooth conversation. Jungwon even managed to started a debate on how cats were better than dogs.

“You’re literally betraying your own dog right now!” you said through fits of giggles. He was laughing alongside you as he ate the shared cake you guys got.

Soon after you two were full off of sweets and had calmed down, deciding it was best to start the rules as you see the sun setting.

“How should we go about this..?” he began, trying to hide his excitement.

You pondered for a minute before responding, “Rule number one! Don’t fall in love!”

Jungwon's smile falters a little before he proceeds to roll his eyes, “Seriously? Am I not your type?” he teased.

“Maybe if you were Choso..” you seriously considered and he glared at you.

“Of course you’re a Jujutsu Kaisen fan.. it all makes sense now.”

“HEY?!”

You huffed and then continued, “Oh another one! Rule number two, we hold hands and give each cheek kisses to make it believable!”

Jungwon's eyes widened. He only ever imagined giving you small pecks of kisses, he can’t believe his manifestations are coming true right now. You on the other hand can’t believe you really came up with that. Feeling embarrassed, you moved on rather quickly.

“Oh! I got one! Rule number three, only our close friends will know the truth.”

“Do we have to let them in on our plans..” he mumbled.

“Well yea! I suck at lying, I even got a whole medal at home for being the worst liar in school!” which you stated a little too proudly. He should’ve questioned that but he didn’t, instead he gave you a love sick smile and sighed dreamily, “You’re so talented…”

“Rule number four, We go on dates every friday or saturday!”

Jungwon added on, “We should also always go to each events..” and you weighed the pros and cons of that. For a second, you almost forgot that this was your student council president that was going along with everything that you were saying.

He plays such an important role for the school yet here you are dragging him into your little petty revenge plan on your ex without an incentive.

“Jungwon, what do you want to benefit from this? I feel kind of selfish for only thinking about my side of the plan..”

He let out a hum before giving you his famous dimpled smile which has you bewitched. “I want to spend more time with you in all of this.”

There it is again, that funny feeling. Something about Jungwon is making your heart do somersaults and cartwheels. You’re still confused about what's happening and tried to push it aside. You never felt like this with your ex so why now?

You cleared your throat after realizing you were staring at him with a dumbfounded look for a good moment, “O-oh okay! Easy peasy!”

He let out a breathy laugh as you tried acting nonchalant, shifting in your seat feeling your face get hot. “Moving on! For the last rule…hm.” You two started thinking hard, almost felt like your thinking caps were going to explode any second now.

You gasped and gave him a wide smile, “ Rule number five, every Thursday you watch the new Jujutsu Kaisen episode with me.” He gave you a deadpanned look.

“I’m not watching Jujutsu Kaisen with you.”

“Please! None of my friends wants to watch or hear my thoughts and since you’re my soon to be boyfriend you have to tune in to my rant sessions about them!” you rambled on, giving him those expecting wide eyes.

Jungwon was gone. He had officially lost it. Soon to be boyfriend? Yeah, he’s agreeing with everything you're saying from now on.

“I’ll do anything you ask me from now on queen!”

Never have you thought that you would be walking into school hand in hand with Jungwon. You were used to having eyes on you but this felt a little overwhelming.

Jungwon felt you tensed up and gave your hands a light squeeze. You gave him a small smile, “Well.. let’s get this show on the road shall we?”

A lighthearted laugh came out, “We shall my lady.”

The two of you proudly walked the halls, ignoring preying eyes and the soft whisperers being formed around. Nearing your locker, your friends are there chatting amongst themselves about who knows what.

Yunjin was the first to noticed you two approaching as she offers Jungwon a welcoming smile, “So your y/n newest boyfriend lover boy?” she teased out. Jungwon tried to contain his excitement by nodding his head quickly before looking at you.

All your friends can see the cloud of hearts forming above his head as if he’s from a cartoon show.

More footsteps could be heard appearing behind you guys, but before you got the chance to turn around, another teasing voice popped up.

“See! I told you the Wikihow steps could work! Now look at you all grown up. I might cry again.. hold me Jay!”

Jungwon’s shoulders deflated at the sound of Sunghoon’s dramatic performance. He turned around with his arms crossed with a disappointed look, “Please stop lying on my name… you make it look like i don’t know how to talk to women!”

“That’s because you don’t!” Sunoo chipped in quickly with a raised eyebrow. You let out a chuckle causing Jungwon to glare at you making you fake a cough.

Sunwoo stomach growled and he groaned in embarrassment, “Can we go get breakfast now?” and Soul gave him a comforting pat on the back, nodding as he did so.

Walking towards the cafeteria was noisy but sitting in the cafeteria was worst.. anyone can hear you and Niki going back and forth on the best genshin character.

“OF COURSE YOU A DILUC FAN!! Jungwon i hate to break it to you man but your girlfriend is a walking red flag,” Niki sadly said.

You look at him offended, “THERE IS NOTHING WRONG HIM!! YOU’RE THE RED FLAG HERE… how could you pick Kokomi OVER THEEE Raiden Shogun?!” and Niki decided to stick his tongue out.

“Genshin fans are the worst..” Heeseung mumbled out to himself. You and Niki would’ve lashed out on him but a voice you knew all to well appeared.

“Oh? didn’t think you would manage to move on from me.. let alone move on to..” Your ex, Ricky, trailed off, eyeing Jungwon up and down with a frown, “Him..”

Your shoulder stiffens as the sudden weight of silence takes over. The memories of you losing your mind on your bathroom floor and crying coming back to you as you tried to hold the tears in. Jungwon noticed your discomfort and wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

“Got a problem with that?”

Your teary eyes snapped up to Jungwon, surprised he would even speak up. “She moved on to a better guy, aka ME!” he stated proudly as he pointed to himself.

Ricky eyes visible twitched as he grips his new girlfriend, “You think so? Wait til she starts crawling back to me… THEN we’ll see who the better guy, yea?”

“As if she crawl back to a dirt bag like you” Jungwon scoffed out. Ricky was going to throw another hissy fit til his girlfriend dragged him away.

Jungwon let out a sigh of relief, “Oh my god.. my heart is pounding so fast, that was the scariest thing i’ve ever done!”

He turned around and wiped your tears away. His heart felt like exploding even more looking at your swollen eyes as he whispered to you, “Don’t waste your tears on jerks like him anymore, okay? i’m all you need right now..”

You looked at him awed, slowly nodding your head with him.

“UGH GROSSED! Can yall be love birds somewhere else?!” Jake joked out, covering his eyes. You flicked him off and took Jungwon by the hand.

“Let’s just hurry up and get this day over with.. i have commissions to do later!”

09; Hiding in plain sight

You checked yourself out in the mirror over and over feeling nervous about the way you look. So caught up in your mind, you jumped at the knock on your door. With one last look in the mirror, you give yourself a thumbs up.

Jungwon was anxious on the other side of the door as he knocked. Thoughts of you not reciprocating his feelings, and you getting bored of him were eating him alive. He combed through his hair and sighed.

You sighed on the other side and just as he was going to knock again, you swung the door open. With his fist frozen in mid air and your wide eyes staring at him. The air being sucked out of you both it seems. You offered him a shy smile which he returned slightly bigger.

“Hey! Our outfits kind of match” he giggles out, “you were thinking me the whole time, huh?”

You rolled your eyes playfully and teased, “i’m pretty sure you went through my closet yesterday, like me that much?”

He felt his heart speed up at the thought of you might knowing his true feelings for you but he kept his cool. “You ready?” and you nodded.

You two walked outside to where your ride was supposed to be at. When you saw it, you tried stiffening a laugh. “Won..what is this?” you snorted.

He turned around feeling offended, “Our ride… It’s couple bike!”. You melted at the sight of him being so proud of the bike as he struggled to put his helmet on. You had to turn around and calm yourself down before you let out a squeal for him.

Walking towards him to help him out, “You’re such a baby… let me do this for you” you shyly muttered. He stared down at you with a lovesick smile as you make sure his helmet on correctly before putting yours on.

The wind tousled your hair as you two pedaled side by side, joking around and almost crashing into trees because Jungwon was getting tired. At a stop, you sneaked a picture of you guys in the bike, it was going to be a core memory for you.

Arriving at the arcade, you two parked the bike and walked towards the entrance hand in hand. You started jumping excitingly seeing a Jujutsu kaisen claw machine, “Wonnie! Over there! Come on, come on!” you said as you dragged Jungwon to the machine.

He shook his head with a smile on his face and watched you insert coins happily. A Gojo plushie caught your eye and you immediately went for it. You tried at least 10 times at this point and Jungwon sighed to himself.

Cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck, “Move aside! Your knight in shining armor is here!”

You cheered on the side line which boosted his ego even more. He didn’t get it on the first try (took him almost 15 tries) but he eventually got it and was engulfed into a hug by you.

He prayed you couldn’t hear his heart beating like drums as you thank him. He tried acting nonchalant by saying it was easy but secretly he was giggling inside his head.

This time Jungwon spotted a dance machine and dragged you towards it despite you telling him repeatedly you’re a bad dancer. “It’s okay Yn!! Just follow the arrows and you’ll be a master at this!”

Picking a random song, you two get ready to make a fool of yourselves. Your squeals and mumbled words of profanity was the only thing being heard as Jungwon laughs covered your curse words.

Jungwon and your laughter echoed through the arcade as you two competed in various games hand in hand, your playful banter creating a comfortable atmosphere, an old couple smiling at you fondly. After an lovely time, Jungwon decided to ask if you were hungry which led you two to a cozy restaurant.

Over dinner, Jungwon and you felt a wave of nostalgia from the first time you guys came up with the fake dating rules. All of a sudden a comfortable silence took over with exchanged glances that spoke volumes.

The air was charged with unspoken emotions, and as they savored their meal, the hopeful thoughts of there being a chance that your guys feelings are mutual lingered.

Finally, Jungwon cleared his throat as he put his spoon down, took a deep breath and confessed, "Yn, I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now."

Yn looked into Jungwon's eyes, sensing the sincerity, and smiled nervously, "Me too, Jungwon. There's something I've been meaning to say as well."

You allowed him to go first, “Yn… the real reason why i agreed to fake date you was because i had a huge crush on you.. i had a crush on you since the day in freshmen year where you presented a Jacob Elordi edit in english class. We’re juniors now but feelings only gotten stronger after we first became friends. The day you got with Ricky, i felt my world crumbled and i know it was my fault since i was a coward back then. When you two broke up i was literally jumping with joy in the student council room! And it only gotten better when you proposed the idea of faking dating. Spending these past two weeks with you helped me gain the courage to confessed to you. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same, it just felt right to tell you now before you break things off with me.”

You stared in awe. Jungwon really was there with you since the beginning. Hiding in plain sight as he watched you grow as a person. You felt your eyes tear a little bit, knowing you can’t share your overwhelmed feelings with him because your voice might break so you leaned over the table and grabbed him by the shirt to pull him closer. You left a kiss of sparks on his lips.

You sat back sheepishly and this time Jungwon stared in awed. He was frozen for a good minute causing you to worry before he broke into smile, “Can you do that again?” which you gladly did.

The arcade date had become the first moment in your two newly bloomed relationship, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with shared laughter, genuine affection, and the joy of finding love in unexpected places.

The adored cat-like boy sitting across from you, felt his hands get sweaty. He knows you’re here to lay out some ground rules, but this was basically a date in his eyes!

You two sat in awkward silence, unsure on how to start the conversation. “Can’t believe your ex hates my guts… I'm just a silly little guy!” he joked out and you let a giggle slip out.

After that small joke he made, you guys were able to relax and have a smooth conversation. Jungwon even managed to started a debate on how cats were better than dogs.

“You’re literally betraying your own dog right now!” you said through fits of giggles. He was laughing alongside you as he ate the shared cake you guys got.

Soon after you two were full off of sweets and had calmed down, deciding it was best to start the rules as you see the sun setting.

“How should we go about this..?” he began, trying to hide his excitement.

You pondered for a minute before responding, “Rule number one! Don’t fall in love!”

Jungwon's smile falters a little before he proceeds to roll his eyes, “Seriously? Am I not your type?” he teased.

“Maybe if you were Choso..” you seriously considered and he glared at you.

“Of course you’re a Jujutsu Kaisen fan.. it all makes sense now.”

“HEY?!”

You huffed and then continued, “Oh another one! Rule number two, we hold hands and give each cheek kisses to make it believable!”

Jungwon's eyes widened. He only ever imagined giving you small pecks of kisses, he can’t believe his manifestations are coming true right now. You on the other hand can’t believe you really came up with that. Feeling embarrassed, you moved on rather quickly.

“Oh! I got one! Rule number three, only our close friends will know the truth.”

“Do we have to let them in on our plans..” he mumbled.

“Well yea! I suck at lying, I even got a whole medal at home for being the worst liar in school!” which you stated a little too proudly. He should’ve questioned that but he didn’t, instead he gave you a love sick smile and sighed dreamily, “You’re so talented…”

“Rule number four, We go on dates every friday or saturday!”

Jungwon added on, “We should also always go to each events..” and you weighed the pros and cons of that. For a second, you almost forgot that this was your student council president that was going along with everything that you were saying.

He plays such an important role for the school yet here you are dragging him into your little petty revenge plan on your ex without an incentive.

“Jungwon, what do you want to benefit from this? I feel kind of selfish for only thinking about my side of the plan..”

He let out a hum before giving you his famous dimpled smile which has you bewitched. “I want to spend more time with you in all of this.”

There it is again, that funny feeling. Something about Jungwon is making your heart do somersaults and cartwheels. You’re still confused about what's happening and tried to push it aside. You never felt like this with your ex so why now?

You cleared your throat after realizing you were staring at him with a dumbfounded look for a good moment, “O-oh okay! Easy peasy!”

He let out a breathy laugh as you tried acting nonchalant, shifting in your seat feeling your face get hot. “Moving on! For the last rule…hm.” You two started thinking hard, almost felt like your thinking caps were going to explode any second now.

You gasped and gave him a wide smile, “ Rule number five, every Thursday you watch the new Jujutsu Kaisen episode with me.” He gave you a deadpanned look.

“I’m not watching Jujutsu Kaisen with you.”

“Please! None of my friends wants to watch or hear my thoughts and since you’re my soon to be boyfriend you have to tune in to my rant sessions about them!” you rambled on, giving him those expecting wide eyes.

Jungwon was gone. He had officially lost it. Soon to be boyfriend? Yeah, he’s agreeing with everything you're saying from now on.

“I’ll do anything you ask me from now on queen!”

Never have you thought that you would be walking into school hand in hand with Jungwon. You were used to having eyes on you but this felt a little overwhelming.

Jungwon felt you tensed up and gave your hands a light squeeze. You gave him a small smile, “Well.. let’s get this show on the road shall we?”

A lighthearted laugh came out, “We shall my lady.”

The two of you proudly walked the halls, ignoring preying eyes and the soft whisperers being formed around. Nearing your locker, your friends are there chatting amongst themselves about who knows what.

Yunjin was the first to noticed you two approaching as she offers Jungwon a welcoming smile, “So your y/n newest boyfriend lover boy?” she teased out. Jungwon tried to contain his excitement by nodding his head quickly before looking at you.

All your friends can see the cloud of hearts forming above his head as if he’s from a cartoon show.

More footsteps could be heard appearing behind you guys, but before you got the chance to turn around, another teasing voice popped up.

“See! I told you the Wikihow steps could work! Now look at you all grown up. I might cry again.. hold me Jay!”

Jungwon’s shoulders deflated at the sound of Sunghoon’s dramatic performance. He turned around with his arms crossed with a disappointed look, “Please stop lying on my name… you make it look like i don’t know how to talk to women!”

“That’s because you don’t!” Sunoo chipped in quickly with a raised eyebrow. You let out a chuckle causing Jungwon to glare at you making you fake a cough.

Sunwoo stomach growled and he groaned in embarrassment, “Can we go get breakfast now?” and Soul gave him a comforting pat on the back, nodding as he did so.

Walking towards the cafeteria was noisy but sitting in the cafeteria was worst.. anyone can hear you and Niki going back and forth on the best genshin character.

“OF COURSE YOU A DILUC FAN!! Jungwon i hate to break it to you man but your girlfriend is a walking red flag,” Niki sadly said.

You look at him offended, “THERE IS NOTHING WRONG HIM!! YOU’RE THE RED FLAG HERE… how could you pick Kokomi OVER THEEE Raiden Shogun?!” and Niki decided to stick his tongue out.

“Genshin fans are the worst..” Heeseung mumbled out to himself. You and Niki would’ve lashed out on him but a voice you knew all to well appeared.

“Oh? didn’t think you would manage to move on from me.. let alone move on to..” Your ex, Ricky, trailed off, eyeing Jungwon up and down with a frown, “Him..”

Your shoulder stiffens as the sudden weight of silence takes over. The memories of you losing your mind on your bathroom floor and crying coming back to you as you tried to hold the tears in. Jungwon noticed your discomfort and wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

“Got a problem with that?”

Your teary eyes snapped up to Jungwon, surprised he would even speak up. “She moved on to a better guy, aka ME!” he stated proudly as he pointed to himself.

Ricky eyes visible twitched as he grips his new girlfriend, “You think so? Wait til she starts crawling back to me… THEN we’ll see who the better guy, yea?”

“As if she crawl back to a dirt bag like you” Jungwon scoffed out. Ricky was going to throw another hissy fit til his girlfriend dragged him away.

Jungwon let out a sigh of relief, “Oh my god.. my heart is pounding so fast, that was the scariest thing i’ve ever done!”

He turned around and wiped your tears away. His heart felt like exploding even more looking at your swollen eyes as he whispered to you, “Don’t waste your tears on jerks like him anymore, okay? i’m all you need right now..”

You looked at him awed, slowly nodding your head with him.

“UGH GROSSED! Can yall be love birds somewhere else?!” Jake joked out, covering his eyes. You flicked him off and took Jungwon by the hand.

“Let’s just hurry up and get this day over with.. i have commissions to do later!”

09; Hiding in plain sight

You checked yourself out in the mirror over and over feeling nervous about the way you look. So caught up in your mind, you jumped at the knock on your door. With one last look in the mirror, you give yourself a thumbs up.

Jungwon was anxious on the other side of the door as he knocked. Thoughts of you not reciprocating his feelings, and you getting bored of him were eating him alive. He combed through his hair and sighed.

You sighed on the other side and just as he was going to knock again, you swung the door open. With his fist frozen in mid air and your wide eyes staring at him. The air being sucked out of you both it seems. You offered him a shy smile which he returned slightly bigger.

“Hey! Our outfits kind of match” he giggles out, “you were thinking me the whole time, huh?”

You rolled your eyes playfully and teased, “i’m pretty sure you went through my closet yesterday, like me that much?”

He felt his heart speed up at the thought of you might knowing his true feelings for you but he kept his cool. “You ready?” and you nodded.

You two walked outside to where your ride was supposed to be at. When you saw it, you tried stiffening a laugh. “Won..what is this?” you snorted.

He turned around feeling offended, “Our ride… It’s couple bike!”. You melted at the sight of him being so proud of the bike as he struggled to put his helmet on. You had to turn around and calm yourself down before you let out a squeal for him.

Walking towards him to help him out, “You’re such a baby… let me do this for you” you shyly muttered. He stared down at you with a lovesick smile as you make sure his helmet on correctly before putting yours on.

The wind tousled your hair as you two pedaled side by side, joking around and almost crashing into trees because Jungwon was getting tired. At a stop, you sneaked a picture of you guys in the bike, it was going to be a core memory for you.

Arriving at the arcade, you two parked the bike and walked towards the entrance hand in hand. You started jumping excitingly seeing a Jujutsu kaisen claw machine, “Wonnie! Over there! Come on, come on!” you said as you dragged Jungwon to the machine.

He shook his head with a smile on his face and watched you insert coins happily. A Gojo plushie caught your eye and you immediately went for it. You tried at least 10 times at this point and Jungwon sighed to himself.

Cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck, “Move aside! Your knight in shining armor is here!”

You cheered on the side line which boosted his ego even more. He didn’t get it on the first try (took him almost 15 tries) but he eventually got it and was engulfed into a hug by you.

He prayed you couldn’t hear his heart beating like drums as you thank him. He tried acting nonchalant by saying it was easy but secretly he was giggling inside his head.

This time Jungwon spotted a dance machine and dragged you towards it despite you telling him repeatedly you’re a bad dancer. “It’s okay Yn!! Just follow the arrows and you’ll be a master at this!”

Picking a random song, you two get ready to make a fool of yourselves. Your squeals and mumbled words of profanity was the only thing being heard as Jungwon laughs covered your curse words.

Jungwon and your laughter echoed through the arcade as you two competed in various games hand in hand, your playful banter creating a comfortable atmosphere, an old couple smiling at you fondly. After an lovely time, Jungwon decided to ask if you were hungry which led you two to a cozy restaurant.

Over dinner, Jungwon and you felt a wave of nostalgia from the first time you guys came up with the fake dating rules. All of a sudden a comfortable silence took over with exchanged glances that spoke volumes.

The air was charged with unspoken emotions, and as they savored their meal, the hopeful thoughts of there being a chance that your guys feelings are mutual lingered.

Finally, Jungwon cleared his throat as he put his spoon down, took a deep breath and confessed, "Yn, I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now."

Yn looked into Jungwon's eyes, sensing the sincerity, and smiled nervously, "Me too, Jungwon. There's something I've been meaning to say as well."

You allowed him to go first, “Yn… the real reason why i agreed to fake date you was because i had a huge crush on you.. i had a crush on you since the day in freshmen year where you presented a Jacob Elordi edit in english class. We’re juniors now but feelings only gotten stronger after we first became friends. The day you got with Ricky, i felt my world crumbled and i know it was my fault since i was a coward back then. When you two broke up i was literally jumping with joy in the student council room! And it only gotten better when you proposed the idea of faking dating. Spending these past two weeks with you helped me gain the courage to confessed to you. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same, it just felt right to tell you now before you break things off with me.”

You stared in awe. Jungwon really was there with you since the beginning. Hiding in plain sight as he watched you grow as a person. You felt your eyes tear a little bit, knowing you can’t share your overwhelmed feelings with him because your voice might break so you leaned over the table and grabbed him by the shirt to pull him closer. You left a kiss of sparks on his lips.

You sat back sheepishly and this time Jungwon stared in awed. He was frozen for a good minute causing you to worry before he broke into smile, “Can you do that again?” which you gladly did.

The arcade date had become the first moment in your two newly bloomed relationship, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with shared laughter, genuine affection, and the joy of finding love in unexpected places.
