I just realized I never explained what a Soul Snatcher is in its entirety so here it is
Soul Snatchers are placed into the Necro Class of Creatures ( undeath or related to death ), tho they tend to lean more into the related to death side then being dead them selfs.
A trait of all Soul Snatchers is that they can see souls and even affect them to a certain extent (EX: Paralyzing ones body via the soul and Phantom Pains). However, they can also do what their namesake implies the complete and utter removal of ones soul( Some Soul Snatchers can manipulate shadows as well). This allows them to steal souls and manipulate them to their desires.
Now, how does this affect respawn? The answer is that since respawn needs ones soul to work, a soul snatcher can completely halt respawn pretty much, causing peradeath. However, the soul snatcher can also give the soul a body ether the old one or a new one.
Soul Snatchers also have no correct form as the only way for a soul snatcher to be made is to turn another life form into one via different methods from rituals to being given the powers of one by another soul snatcher. Given their connections to death, they are seen as misfortune no matter the species they appear to be
