So- i finished Ssgn and I love zoe and her gf! but i had a thought so y'know how zoe talks to ben ab her feelings (stevlana, being left out, ect) what if ben did that ab murray and hes like

Zoe: "Hold on im just gonna" *throwing up nosies*

I love that, no matter what the fandom thinks about Ben’s relationship to Murray, and vice versa, we all just agree that Ben’s friends would question his sanity (and taste in men)

The CIA is making its own enemies

I know I’ve iterated this point a LOT, but it matters when it comes to picking apart the villains of Spy School.

They are children

(With the exception of Ms. E, Ivan, and the other side villains of course)

Like I said in another post, Joshua is only 18

Murray is like 15, and everyone else falls into that same age range

Now, I am very well aware that SPYDER and other organizations had a big part in turning these villains to the dark side, but it wasn’t just them.

It’s no secret that the CIA doesn’t treat their students well. Barely passable living space, borderline poisonous food, intensive training, etc.

Not to mention that this school puts the kids in a LOT of danger, even the ones that don’t get sent on missions

The students are being treated like shit. And they don’t even realize.

You know why?

Because they either think they’ll become the next James Bond, or they’re already accustomed to the expectations of the school.

Whether they know it or not, the CIA is taking advantage of its students.

It takes kids, that would normally lead well rounded lives that make them into better people, and then screws up their growth by shoving all of these expectations and burdens onto them

My example? Murray.

Murray is a dickhead, there’s no denying that.

But that’s not unusual for a teenage boy. He probably would’ve grown out of it.

But now he won’t. Because of how the CIA failed him, and SPYDER’s enabling, he’ll never grow out of his worst self. (At least not naturally)

Even if the CIA doesn’t screw up its kids that badly, at the very least, they provide bad people and bad influences the perfect target.

Naive, disillusioned kids without a healthy environment.

Is any of this correct? Probably not

Am I reading too much into this? Yes most definitely

Do I wanna chip in my two cents on the matter anyway? Yes I do

ive been rewatching ducktales (2017) for the billoth time and every time i think about how much this line fits Murray

The youngest in the police force, a 17 year old investigator. However, don’t be fooled. Although she works endlessly to bring criminals to justice, she doesn’t give a rats ass about justice.

It’s all about the mental gymnastics for her.

Graduating high school at 16 and being in her second year of college, it’s safe to say that she’s very intelligent (perhaps too intelligent for her own good). Academia is too easy, and bores her to tears. So she’s always looking for something to engage her, to stimulate her. She will stop at nothing to reach her goal. Unless of course, it serves her own personal interests.

She’s arrogant, she’s a know it all, and can be one hell of a wise ass.

Despite all this talk however, she’s very weak. She spends her time studying or working the night away. So, it’s safe to say she’s not lifting weights every week. She’s also quite slow (only physically of course).

(She also may or may not have an iron deficiency)

what if spy school characters had pokemon: a not very well thought out au

ben: has a rotom (just a silly lil guy) and a dreepy (another silly guy); he finds dreepy in his dorm on the first day

erica: has a corvisquire (given to her by Cyrus), dartrix, and glaceon (bc obviously); glaceon is named buttercup, but nobody knows that except her

alexander: has a fletchling (haha get it bc fledgling), farfetch’d (funny bird), starly (that bird looks patriotic), and litten (named mr wigglebottom); starly ends up fully evolving, while litten evolves into a torracat and no further—fletchling just stays Like That :)

murray: has an oddish and salandit; they’re both just as lazy as he is, which is good for anyone who has to battle them (not for murray tho, rip)

joshua: has an ariados (yknow. spider), aggron, and stakataka; theyre highly trained but also really like frozen yogurt (courtesy of joshua)

zoe: has a tinkaton and piplup; theyre besties who slay together :)

mike: has a duosion and scorbunny; they all just wanna Have Fun and they accomplish that goal always

cyrus: has a centiscorch (the eldest of the team), aegislash and tyrantrum; all of them are equally strict and grumpy, though they’re still better than cyrus !

catherine: has a yamask, chandelure, cofagrigus and polteageist; they can and will kick your ass btw, even the teacup

trixie: has a klefki and morelull; idk man they just want to have a good time and so does trixie

Since he has selective mutism, he uses sign language and writing to communicate (mostly sign language though)

He’s also a talented codebreaker, he loves puzzles and ciphers, especially the more obscure ones

But don’t let his small size and quiet demeanor fool you, if you say something ableist about his being mute, he will hit you with a chair

Okay so hear me out

What if along with the gun thing, Murray also gets suspicious because Ben is being…nice to him

Sure, Murray’s been acting chummy with him for a while, in a futile effort to try and salvage the friendship they had but he didn’t really expect him to reciprocate

He knows very well that, even now that they’re on the same side, Ben still hates him for stabbing him in the back

So when Ben acts as if they’ve been friends forever, and seems to genuinely like him, that’s what gets Murray to be like “okay, something is wrong”

I thought about an au; in ESS Ben is caught as a double agent by Joshua while he is talking to Mr.E. But instead of offing him they and decides that SPIDER stills needs Ben so they brain wash him.

Ashley had a part of catching Ben as a mole, so she is helping keep everything hush hush from the others.

The next morning Murray, Nefarious, and the Hales notice something off about Ben. He more cheerful and genuine about everything, and most unsettling eager to help SPIDER. Nefarious doesn’t do much about this but Murray does after watching Ben ACTUALLY SHOOTING A GUN ACCURATELY. So, he starts snooping around find out what happen to Ben.

While this is all happening the Hales think that Ben has actually switch sides and are with SPIDER, or at least Cyrus does. Erica believes that something happens to Ben and riskily infiltrate the base only to find Murray sneaking around. Erica attacks Murray and after they both discuss on how Ben is acting strange and decide to temporarily team up.

And Alexander is doing the same thing he did in the end of SSGN pretending to agree to Cyrus. When in reality he is distracting his father every time Erica goes ti SPIDER’s base (they either bond or angst issues, probably the latter).

Also also Mr.Wigglebottem (Alexander cat that was never brought up again) has a moment distracting guards while Erica and Murray sneak inside a building.

Erica finds out that Ben has ben brain washed Murray tells her about the missiles (i dont remember if he already knew, but if he didnt he just finds out). I dont know if Murray would do anything to stop the missiles or if he will help Erics stop them consider he might feel against using brain washing idk. Erica convinces him either way along with Nefarious. Murray and Nefarious try to disable/shut down the missile, while Erica deals with Ashley and Ben (Joshua already had left at this point).

Erica barely manages to defeat Ashley with Ben, who is now better at fighting while brainwashed, aiding her. With Ashley now unconscious Erica is left with a brain washed Ben. She doesnt want to hurt Ben, because it’s BEN, so she fights hesitantly against him (giving ben the upper hand). While in the middle of their fight, Ben starts fighting against the brain wash serum (does that make sense? i think thats how brain wash works). Erica notices this and starts telling Ben about the past memories such as his friends and past missions. When she mentions Mike, Ben snaps out of the brain wash and becomes himself again (yay :D)

Finally, after a heart felt moment between Erica, who is happy to have Ben back, and Ben, who is repeatedly apologizing since he remembers everything he done while brain washed. Murray interrupts them and with the combination of everyone’s skills they successfully shut down the missile.
