Hinatsuru

-The demons were defeated, humanity was saved, everything was right with the world now. Nobody had to fight anymore or risk their lives so new life could finally be created. Hinatsuru was the first of the Uzui Wives to fall pregnant, now round with the first heir to her beloved Tengen she found it a bit difficult to be useful around the large home.
-She tried her best to help the others with cleaning and maintaining the home but she grew tired far to quickly and she found herself constantly hungry.
-While out purchasing vegetables from the market her keen nose caught scent of a wonderfully delicious smell. Before she could realize it her feet carried her towards the smell until she arrived at a small family owned restaurant.
-“Welcome!”, a chipper voice called out from inside.
-Hinatsuru, although embarrassed by her salivating mouth, slowly entered the restaurant to be greeted by the most beautiful woman she’d ever laid her eyes on. She felt her heart skip a beat and felt her skin warm at the sight of the bustling woman.
-“Welcome Madam, please hav- oh.”, you stopped mid sentence noticing Hinatsuru’s round belly, “Oh I’m so sorry for making you wait. Here sit here on this bench, I’ll get an entra cushion for you to sit on.”
-Hinatsuru was awestrucked by your consideration and kindness, you seated her at a raised booth seat table with extra cushions to sit on. She was careful to sit and grateful for your help, “What can I get for you today madam?”, you asked sweetly pouring her a fresh cup of herbal tea.
-Hinatsuru lost in her lovestruck daze didn’t quite hear you but you were calm and patient waiting for her response. She blinked about four times before realizing you’d been speaking to her, “O-Oh! I’m so sorry…I…umm…everything sounds so good but I’m afraid it might be to heavy for me.”
-“We have a ramen in a light soy milk broth and the noodles are made from bread flour, and topped off with charred vegetables. Perfect to fill an empty stomach and revitalize a tired body.”, you offered her the perfect meal which she happily ordered.
-Hinatsuru was surprised by your consideration and kind heart, most people would often shun her or degrade her for being pregnant and wandering about unaccompanied by her husband but you were different. You looked at her with the fondest gaze, gave her a warm smile, and treated her like a proper woman.
-“Here you are Madam, please call out to me if you need anything else.”, you presented her food to her with a bow of your head, “Please enjoy.”
-Hinatsuru did indeed enjoy her meal, the broth was light and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked and bouncy, and the charred vegetables were the best addition to the meal. She was full and the warmth of the broth melted away the ache from her tired muscles and provided her the energy she needed to get home.
-“Thank you so much for the meal it was delicious. I wish you great success and patronage for your lovely restaurant.”, Hinatsuru hummed in delight ready to head home.
-You smiled at her kind words and took her bags from her while offering her your arm to hold, “Thank you kindly for your compliments, I called in a favor from a friend of mine to take you home. You shouldn’t overexert yourself, your health is just as important as the baby’s.”
-She was surprised to see a wagon waiting outside for her, “Mamoru you better take her straight home or I’m poisoning your food the next time you come in!”, you growled playfully tossing a bag of steamed buns at him.
-“I already said I would have some faith in me you brat! Just as mean as your father, you should learn to be more lady like for your own sake (Y/n)!”, the man whined before stuffing a bun in his mouth.
-Hinatsuru couldn’t help but smile at your friendly bickering, she placed her bags at the edge of the wagon ready to lift herself up but she was pleasantly surprised when she was raised up onto the wagon.
-“There you go. Be careful getting home miss, if you’re ever hungry again come back and visit us.”, you smiled gently setting her onto the wagon.
-Hinatsuru could feel the warmth in her face, her smile was giving her away but she couldn’t help her wildly beating heart. She was falling in love, without realizing she was being wooed by a kind waitress.
-The wagon slowly began to move and Hinatsuru gasped realizing she hadn’t properly thanked you for the ride, she quickly raised her arm up into the air to wave you goodbye. “Th-Thank you so much (Y/n), I’ll be back again soon. Thank you for the delicious meal.”, she shouted just loud enough for you to hear.
-You smiled and waved her off, on the ride home Hinatsuru inquired more about you from the wagon driver who was more than happy to spill everything he knew about you. Hearing that your kind disposition and playful demeanor were truly who you were made her smile grow.
-Eventually the wagon made it to the Uzui mansion where the rest of the family waited patiently for their pregnant wife to return home. Makio and Suma helped unload the bags while Tengen helped Hinatsuru down from the wagon. The three remaining Uzui members noticed a change in their round wife and it piqued their curiosity.
-“Hina what happened out there today? Was it something good, you’re smiling a lot right now.”, Tengen chuckled pressing a kiss to her temple.
-Hinatsuru was indeed smiling and it was a smile of love, “I met an Angel today.”, was all she could say before happily waddling back into the manor.

Makio

-Hinatsuru had never been the same after that outing, she was far more bubbly and loving despite the pressure that came with being pregnant. Everyone else was curious but decided not to act on their instincts, everyone except Makio that is.
-She took it upon herself to investigate and quickly realized that Hinatsuru had fallen in love, now the question was with who?
-She followed Hina out on one of her weekly supply runs and found her admiring the hairpins at a local accessory vendor. She found one that seemed a bit odd for her taste and bought it before continuing through the town. Eventually she found her at a small family restaurant and followed her in.
-“Table for two please.”, Makio announced to the host, Hinatsuru froze once she realized she’d been caught. They were both quickly seated at a raised table and Makio glared daggers at her wife.
-“Care to explain yourself?”, she growled.
-Hinatsuru opened her mouth to say something only to be interrupted by a sweet boisterous voice, “Hina! Look how big you’ve gotten, I’m sure you’ve got a healthy baby boy in there.”
-Makio noticed Hinatsuru’s body soften up and the smile that graced her face once another woman arrived at the table. “A friend?”, Makio thought watching as the woman hugged Hinatsuru tight around her shoulders.
-“What can I get for you today? Any special cravings?”, the woman asked.
-“Hmm something a bit spicy and my regular tea please.”, Hina ordered, flashing a pleading glare at Makio to behave. The waitress smiled and turned to Makio ready to take her order, “I…I’ll take an order of spicy tuna onigiri please.”, Makio requested in a stumbled voice.
-“Of course madam, right away. By the way you have very lovely eyes.”
-Makio felt her heart skip a beat at such a straightforward comment, no one was ever so bold to openly praise her like this let alone another woman. Once the waitress left she leaned forward with a judging stare, “Is she who you’ve been coming to see every week?”, she growled.
-Hinatsuru didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’. “Can you blame me? (Y/n) is just so charming and considerate, you’d love her if you’d give her a chance.”
-“Hina we are married. Lord Tengen has three wives, three, and you’re pregnant! Why would you fall in love with someone else at such a delicate time?”, Makio growled.
-Hina’s smile dropped just a bit, she couldn’t help but sigh easily understanding what Makio meant, “Remember when we were talking about how the manor seemed to be lacking something? I think the manor was lacking the person who could truly make home feel like home. Ever since peace came to Japan it’s felt like we’ve been growing distant despite our shared joy over my pregnancy. I think that (Y/n) is the piece we’ve been missing. She’s kind hearted, playful, mischievous, reliable, she’s just…so lovely.”, Hina hummed in content.
-Makio groaned listening to every word that came from her pregnant wife, it was true that the family lacked something. A spark you could say, but Makio was almost certain that it was just everyone’s need for a baby not so much another person to love.
-She gave it a try, she properly greeted you and talked with you while you worked. No matter how she tried to sway the conversation you followed her lead, listening to her, adding a comment here and there. You were so easy to get along with, Makio could finally understand what Hina meant.
-While sharing a conversation a robber barged in with a gun pointing it at anyone that moved, Makio stood up tall pulling her kunai from her thigh but stopped when she felt a warm grip on her arm. You were stopping her, “Protect Miss Hina.”, you ordered, the light in your eyes slowly fading as you tied up your hair and sleeves.
-Makio did as told and watched as you slowly moved towards the rogue robber, everyone stayed still while you kept direct eye contact with your opponent. He was inexperienced, you could tell from his stance and from the rattling of his arm, “I feel sorry for you.”, you sighed throwing a plate in the air that his frenzied eyes followed.
-While he was distracted you rushed for his wrist and stabbed his wrist with your hairpin forcing him to drop the gun. You were strategic and cold with your movements, as quickly as he’d entered you’d incapacitated him and knocked him unconscious by slamming the back of his head into the wall.
-“Did she just-“ “She sure did Makio. (Y/n)’s not trained like us but she knows a thing or two about self defense.”, Hinatsuru sighed in relief knowing that everyone was now safe.
-The restaurant was closed early that day because of the incident and the two Uzui wives noticed the sudden sadness in your eyes. Your favorite hairpin had broken because of the excessive force you used to stab the man and now you were upset about it. Makio noticed this and remembered the hairpin that Hinatsuru had purchased earlier. “This was for her wasn’t it?”, Makio smiled.
-Your wagon driver friend was taking the Uzui wives home again and Hina nodded from her place on the edge of the cart. Makio smiled and ran to thank you for protecting them, she hugged you tight which certain helped your mood a bit. “Here this is for you, thank you so much for today. We’ll be back.”, Makio smiled placing the box in your hand before running off.
-The cart was almost out of sight when you finally decided to open the box, your smile widened and a blush formed across your face from ear to ear, it was a new hairpin just for you. “Those ladies are so sweet.”, you hummed feeling your heart skip a beat.

Suma Uzui

-Now Suma was a surprise to the whole family because she already knew you beforehand, on a rather stressful day you’d helped her in the market when her bag had ripped and her produce had been trampled on by a carriage. She was in tears, a blubbering mess really but you were there to lend a helping hand.
-“Miss?”, you called out offering her your hand, “A pretty thing like you shouldn’t be on the floor crying, here give me your hand.”
-She took your hand and sniffled while trying to wipe away her tears, you smiled softly at her and gently wiped away her tears with the sleeves of your kimono. “No need to cry, everything will be alright, here I’ll help you.”, you offered her your arm before leading her back into the market. The produce owner that she’d just bought from replaced everything for her after you’d whispered something into his ear.
-Although you seemed like a fair innocent woman you were in fact a intellectual and conniving person with knowledge about several misdeeds from everyone in town. You only played dirty with those who deserved it and a man that charges a poor woman double for his poor produce was certainly an example.
-Suma thanked you for the help and offered you an apple as a thank you since she had nothing else, you smiled and took the token of appreciation before giving her something in exchange. A small box of homemade daifuku mochi, she gasped in surprise and felt her stomach grumble to the thought of eating the mochi.
-You two exhanged goodbyes and she noticed a pretty little moon shaped charm dangling in your hair, she recalled the stories that Makio and Hinatsuru had shared with her about a kind hearted woman that looked like a goddess and gasped realizing it was you.
-It wasn’t much of a surprise when you two met again at the family restaurant when she went back with Makio and Hinatsuru. Months had passed and Hina was close to delivering so she wouldn’t be able to visit anymore after today. The moment Suma saw you in the male restaurant uniform she gasped loudly in shock and pointed at you a bit dramatically.
-Makio knocked a heavy punch into the back of her head forcing her to behave and sit down, you laughed and argued with Makio not to be mean and gently rubbed the back of Suma’s head with your gentle hand.
-Just like the other Suma was bewitched by you, your personality allowed you to fit perfectly with everyone and you protected Suma from any unnecessary pain that Makio tried to cause her. You all chatted away like old friends completely lost in conversation and the food you prepared, Suma felt the spark just like the others. There was love in your eyes for each of them but you knew better then to act on it.
-The three Uzui wives left that say happy to see you and didn’t return until about two weeks later when Suma arrived at the restaurant in tears, “(Y/n)! (Y/n) please you have to come with me!”, she cried out panting for breath.
-“Su! Suma what’s the matter? Are you okay? Are you hurt?”, you screamed in a panic noticing her collapse at the entryway.
-Suma clung to you in tears, “H-Hina…th-the baby. The baby is coming but the midwife won’t make it in time, we need help please, we aren’t sure what to do!”, she cried begging you to help.
-You dropped everything at that very moment, th restaurant owner shouted at you to get back to work but you couldn’t knowing that the Uzui family needed you. You picked Suma up without hesitation and rushed out to Mamoru to ask for his horse. Naturally he was swayed by money and allowed you to take his horse, you helped Suma on before jumping on yourself and rode back to the Manor.
-She enough you could hear Hinatsuru’s screams of pain, you barged in and at that moment you met Lord Tengen who watched on in pain seeing Hinatsuru suffering. “Makio…get me a pail of warm water, Suma get me extra mats or sheets for the mess.”, you instructed calmly.
-“And who do you think you are?”, Tengen growled standing up and towering over you for being here at such a delicate time.
-“(Y-Y/n)!”, Hina cried from her place on the floor.
-You glared at Tengen who stood in your way and coldly stated, “Mortality rates are high during child birth, I’m the best shot you’ve got at keeping Hina and the baby alive. Now move and get out of my way.”
-Tengen was shocked by your attitude but your eyes showed how you truly felt, you were just as scared as him, but you were ready to help any way that you could. Tengen stepped aside allowing you to go to Hinatsuru, “It’s alright, everything will be okay now. Just bare with me.”, you begged softly pressing a delicate kiss to her clammy forehead.
-Suma and Makio arrived with the things you’d requested and you asked Tengen to find you a long rope or sash, he followed your command without question and returned with the labor rope and the pulley for it. Makio and Tengen both jumped up to the raptors above to tie the pulley and prepare the rope while you began to count Hina’s contractions.
-“Suma, Makio, stay here and help me. Lord Tengen I apologize for my boldness but I must ask you to leave, this isn’t something men should see.”, you ordered him out with the promise that Hina would be okay. Tengen nodded his head sitting outside of the room and guarding the door while you all helped Hina give birth. It was a long and exhausting process, her screams echoed through the manor for what seemed like hours but eventually the small cry of an infant echoed through the Manor.
-Tengen waited patiently to be let into the room, Suma was the one to get him. She was in tears, smiling and praising him for the family’s first baby. Makio was inside supporting Hinatsuru’s head on her thighs while the baby softly cried on her bare chest. “It’s a boy, a healthy baby boy.”, Hina smiled.
-Tengen smiled back at his tired wife and looked around for any signs of you to thank you but you were no where to be found. The room was cleaned of any mess and you were long gone, faded away into the night to allow the family their chance of peace and happiness.

Tengen Uzui

-Six days! You had disappeared for six days after the birth of his son and you were no where to be found. Tengen was furious with you, how dare you come into his home order him around and then leave like that when he was just starting to like you.
-Lord Tengen was a force to be reckoned with, a retired demon slayer, a former shinobi, and powerful regardless of his missing arm and eye. Everyone knew better then to be in his way especially now since he looked like a man on a mission. He arrived at the family restaurant that Makio had told him about and was ready to carry you away back home but something was different.
-“Excuse me but where is your waitress? Miss (Y/n), is she in?”, Tengen asked confidently, peering around the restaurant for any sign of you.
-You boss, the owner of the restaurant, scoffed in annoyance and muttered something about you being at the graveyard nearby. Tengen was curious why you’d be at such a sad place but simply kept to himself and left without bothering much more.
-Sure enough he found you in the graveyard, kneeling in front of a large tombstone that you’d just cleaned, “Father I hope you can hear me, I hope you can find it in you to be happy for me despite never being able to provide you the grandchild you wanted so much. I never got to experience the love you and mom had but I finally got a glimpse of it. I finally got to see what true love was and experience what a family was.”, you spoke aloud to yourself.
-Tengen made his presence known with a small cough which quickly gained your attention, you gasped seeing him and he could only smile at you as he joined you in the ground and paid his respect to your family.
-“Shouldn’t you be at home taking care of Hina?”, you growled.
-“Shouldn’t you have stayed so we could’ve thanked you for all your hard work? The midwife and doctor both passed Hinatsuru and the baby with a clean bill of health and it was all thanks to you.”, Tengen smiled, gently resting his hand on your head to comfort you.
-You fell silent to the news but ultimately nodded your head as fresh tears started to fall from your eyes, “Th-That’s good…I’m glad they’re both fine and loved.”, you sobbed.
-Tengen didn’t like seeing you cry like this and gently wiped away your tears with his thumb, “Now don’t cry, it’s not very becoming of a woman like you. I like it better when you’re snarky and happy then when you cry.”, he chuckled.
-You couldn’t help but chuckle at his bursting overconfidence, how could he speak so casually to you like this? He had three wives, three, waiting for him at home with his first son. “Why are you here Lord Tengen?”, you asked.
-“Hinatsuru refuses to eat anything we give her, she was never this stubborn until she met you. She said she won’t take care of herself till you come home, you’re unmarried right? You’re boss is your guardian who treats you like dirt doesn’t he? Let me take you away from that, allow me the chance to see what charms you used to make all my wives fall in love with you.”, Tengen answered you boldly already prepared to not take no as an answer.
-You were surprised to hear such a bold demand from him but the smile on your face gave away how you felt, without having to answer Tengen smiled and tossed you over his shoulder with one arm and carried you all the way back home. You protested with him that you could walk and flailed in his arms only to be slapped on your butt by him.
-“You are such a perverted old geezer!”, you growled, punching his back.
-“I am not! You just don’t know when to behave!”, he huffed.
-You two bickered all the way home, Tengen liked your attitude it was refreshing and honestly motherly. You indeed were the missing piece to the family, a fifth pillar of support to all with the social skills necessary for day to day life. The moment the girls saw your tears poured from everyone’s eyes. Suma lunged at you first sobbing that she was angry with you for disappearing like that, Makio smacked you in the back of the head for leaving before hugging you and Hinatsuru… Hinatsuru was just relieved to see her precious Angel again.
-Here you were wanted, you were loved, you were a family and nobody would dare let you go again. You became (Y/n) Uzui the day Hinatsuru fell in love with you and nothing could ever change that.
