YOU WEREN’T SURE WHAT POSSESSED YOU TO SHOW UP AT YOUR SCHOOL’S SWIM MEET.

First of all, you knew none of the swimmers on the team nor did you have the slightest clue about how swim meets worked. All you knew was that your school’s swim team was reputable and had the best athletes in the state.

Second of all, you had no idea swim meets went on for this long. You were starving, and you didn’t even have a friend to kill time with. If you knew it was going to go into the evening, you would’ve asked Chenle to tag along with you.

You weren’t even sure what was keeping you here. You had no interest in the swimmers; you had no idea how these meets worked or were organized; and you were bored out of your mind. The only thing that kept your attention was how the swimmers moved so freely in the water.

“We’re now entering the final round of the senior men’s freestyle event!” the announcer’s voice boomed through the auditorium.

You perked up a little, sitting up straighter to get a better look at the lineup. You swept your gaze across the line of swimmers until your eyes landed on Jung Sungchan.
