Sad Bumblebee

Pairing: Cas x F!Reader

Summary: You and the brothers go on a bad hunt and you end up dead. Sam carries your body as Cas demands Dean to explain what happened to you. After he gets told and sees your body, he goes to his shared room with you and grabs the bumblebee you won him from a carnival and cries in a corner

It was supposed to be a fast salt and burn, but there were more bones to burn than expected. 

A ghost came up behind Dean without him knowing. It was about to stick its hand through his chest but he gets pushed out of the way. “What the he-?” Dean turns his head to see you having a hole through your chest. 

He watches the blood trail down your front and down your mouth and you feel the crimson liquid down your back.

The ghost goes up in flames once Sam found the other bones. 

Your body drops to the ground. “(Y-Y/N)?” Sam asks hesitantly. Dean stands up and runs towards your body to pick your up. 

Tears slowly go down both the brothers’ cheeks as they walk back to the Impala.

Dean carefully places your body in the back seat before him and Sam sit in the front in silence. “What are we going to tell Cas?” Sam asks softly to break the silence. “The truth.” Dean says before starting the engine and drives back to the bunker. “But the major thing is how we’re gonna tell him.” He adds before it’s silent again.

Once they arrive at the garage of the bunker, the brothers stay in the car before Dean hops out. “I’ll warn him.” He walks off to find Cas in the library. “Hello, Dean. How was the hunt?” Dean says nothing. “Is Sam and (Y/N) alright?”

“Sam’s good. (Y/N), uh, she didn’t quite make it.” 

As soon as the words came out, Sam walks in with your limp body. Cas felt his knees go weak. “We’re going to give her a hunter’s funeral.” Sam says softly. Cas stands still, saying nothing as he feels tears go down his face.

The three of them get ready for a funeral for you. 

They’ve been through this so many times for the people who’ve helped them along the way, but they can’t get used to the feeling.

Sam and Dean lost what seems to be their sister, they always saw you as soon. And for Cas, you were his lover. 

Your wrapped body goes up in flames that rests on the logs. Tears stained all their cheeks, watching the flames go up. The brothers pat Cas’ back before they both head inside.

Cas flies in his and your shared room. His eyes move to your bed to see a bumblebee plushie you won him at a carnival up against the middle of your pillows. 

He grabs it to hug it underneath his chin. He sits himself in a corner, bringing his legs up to his chest as more tears spill down his cheeks. He brings a hand through his hair, letting it rest there with sobs escaping from him.

“Come on, Bee.” you intertwine your hands together with his once you arrive the at carnival. 

You feels your body go back a bit from Cas stopping in front of a stall. You shuffle next to him to find him looking at a bumblebee plushie. “Do you want it?” you ask. He nods with a shy smile on his face.

You give some cash to the person behind the stand of the stall, who hands you a gun in return. You shoot down all the targets. “Which one would you like?” The person asks, receiving the gun. “The bumblebee, please.” It gets handed to you. “Thanks.” You and Cas walk off to get some food.

“Here you go, Cas.” You give him the plushie. “Thank you.” He hugs it to his chest. “You’re welcome.” You smile at him. “Now, what do you want to eat? You’re human and you need something to eat ‘cause I’m hungry and you’re gonna be hungry, too.” Cas nods. You two take in your surroundings of the food stalls. Once you choose what you want, you both have a conversation.
