Do you ever create a new OC for some reason or another and then get absolutely obsessed with their design and drawing them because they're just fun?
Well, I created a new character for a DnD campaign and I love my skinny gremlin cleric so much I'm keeping her for original projects. Meet Vesuvia Cesandro - Life Domain cleric turned Trickster Domain cleric.
Very first concept sketch, and then refined design for her facial features - I wanted her to look a little bit androgynous with the glasses on and give her sharp cheekbones plus a strong jaw.
Despite her best efforts she sucked at written work and got kicked out of studying to serve under her original god - but a trickster deity pitied her so hard and thought it was funny to steal a cleric from another god that she changed domains. (After she got over being upset, Suvia thought it was funny, too).
She's got a really odd sense of humour and an odd cadence to her words, gives used car salesman vibes - but her heart is ABSOLUTELY in the right place.
I'll be keeping her backstory pretty similar for my original works, just have to tweak it a bit!
Outfit design notes - I'd say her design influences are pretty clear! Thinking of giving her a green colour scheme. (If anyone wants to try and nail down the four specific characters I took design inspo from, feel clear lol, but one of them is a tiny bit obscure.)
And one last bonus sketch before I decided she tries to smile at all times after making the deal with the trickster deity:

And to add to my last post about my OC - after I designed her I realised I'd accidentally made her both a mirror and a foil to a previous DnD character turned original projects character.
It's been way too much fun drawing them together and imagining them as each other's arch-nemesis for this reason! Especially because I gave them somewhat similar but contrasting designs.
Riley Vesper vs Vesuvia Cesandro, place your bets!
Suvia has not met her original god but believes they still love them despite service to another deity.
Riley has met the mortal incarnation of her god but believes them to be a false prophet.
One has a neatly pressed, classy and form-fitting coat. One has a coat stitched together from spare fabric and the remains of a straitjacket. Both believes the other stole their glasses - Suvia's are a bit more elaborate, Riley's are a bit more simple.
They really, really don't like each other.
One uses every ounce of magic at her disposal and supplements it with a weapon. One is feared for using her weapons with extreme efficiency and has assassinated multiple magical beings with zero magic short of summoning spells.
And they get super petty with each other. For instance - Suvia stole the idea for dangly cross earrings off of Riley Vesper, who wears inverted ones:
(Dialogue reads as such:
Suvia: Hey, hey Riley. Like the earrings, the lil' dangly things? I saw yours and thought "dang, I gotta get me some."
Riley: OHH, I'm going to entirely eviscerate your existence, you calamitous, copycatting cow.)
Plus, the obligatory, totally non-serious coffee shop AU.
(Dialogue reads as such:
Riley: Your puff pastry is poorly proofed and preposterously priced.
Suvia: Hey. HEY, GOOD to know. But you do realise your coffee is ONE-STAR RATED? It's like you STRAINED the bean juice with ya BARE HANDS.)
This sketch was pretty fun for me to emphasise and contrast their facial features too - I like that they've both got thicker eyebrows and big smiles but where Suvia is more sharp and pointy, Riley is more square and broad.
You'll definitely be seeing more of these two, hope you enjoy!
