Talk To Me Like A Real Person. - Tumblr Posts

You don’t get to hand wave away currently ongoing evil simply because of your perceived prospect for more.

People like you showing Biden and other democrats that even genocide won’t stop you from voting for them have destroyed this country. You want to get online and posture about how you’re some moral martyr because you’ll “vote blue no matter who,” but you are the reason we’re stuck in this system that you claim to hate.

hard to know what comment you’re referencing when you send anon asks instead of just, idk, engaging with the comment itself. but whatevs.

i actually don’t agree with “vote blue no matter who.” i think it’s foolish. i think we can both agree that biden is not an ideal candidate, and electing him won’t fix a damn thing. however, let’s consider the alternative. it’s too late in the process to elevate a third candidate. i much prefer cornell west, i think he’s an excellent leader and i agree with most of his values. but let’s be practical; he’s not going to win this year. yet again, it’s down to biden and trump. and i do not want trump to win.

do you think trump winning will put an end to the conflict in gaza? do you think trump will reign netanyahu in? do you think electing trump will bring peace?

i don’t think so. do you?

electing trump will, in my opinion, make things so much fucking worse. have you looked at project 2025? do you remember what trumps presidency was like when he didn’t have a plan? it’s not a perceived prospect for more violence, it’s looking at the past and knowing full damn well that things we’ll get worse if trump is elected.

a vote for biden is a vote against trump, and i’ll be damned if i don’t use my vote against him. i’m not “hand waiving away evil,” i’m not being a “moral martyr,” i’m acting with an ounce of sense.

local elections have come and gone, we’ve had years to support a third party candidate campaign and give them a fighting chance. now we have to be smart and minimize damage.

sorry for the long response, but i don’t take kindly to being blamed for the united states being stuck in a two-party system. if you’d like to have an actual discussion about this, please respond to my initial comment. thanks!
