one thing i love abt the lone wanderer as a character (and the reason i need to make this stupid essay abt them) is that pretty much any reading of their character makes total sense. some people write their lone wanderer as a really doting, loving child who believes project purity is the Most Most important thing... and that totally reads fine! other people write the LW as someone who hates their father and the project that took him away from them... and that also totally works! some folks have an LW that are really conflicted about project purity and their father, or have them forgive their father years after the fact, or have them hold a grudge, or have them love the vault, or hate the vault, or miss the vault, destroy the vault, have them be a good person, have them be a bad person... and yet ALL of them work! all of them! and it's really quite impressive that bethesda made a framework that supports so many interpretations of a character in which you can be two RADICALLY different people and STILL make sense in canon, so people have really diverse takes on each LW and their reactions. it's quite poggers,
