one of my biggest overall complaints of The Goldfinch as a movie is that it was so polished. the movie with an addict main character hardly had any drugs.. there was one shot of blood in the entire film unattached to any one person… the entire Vegas portion was lacking the air of sickness and hunger and filth that it does in the book..
