It still cracks me up that Kim Dokja has a WALL that EATS people. And makes them do LITERAL emotional labour.
Dokhyuk Moments: Part 7
— still means I skipped sentences
“I heard we should find the ugliest king.”
I suddenly felt a gaze and Yoo Jonghyuk staring at me quietly. What was he looking at?
Ok. Listen. What if...Jonghyuk notice that Dokja’s face was blurred? I’d take it that he hadn’t noticed until people started calling Dokja ugly, and he would be confused as to why. Then, he looks at Dokja and realizes.
“Yoo Jonghyuk!” It was a jubilant voice. I watched the man approaching and my palms became wet with tension.
I know it became sweaty because Dokja was nervous, but I can’t help but get your-boyfriends-ex-is-crazy-but-you-are-insecure-and-think-he-wants-to-get-back-with-the-ex vibes.
“Yoo Jonghyuk! Became with with me!”
“Stop the bullshit before I kill you.”
Nirvana laughed at Yoo Jonghyuk’s attitude. He was so bored that even this felt cute.
“You pretend to hate me but you want me more than anyone else. You need sky strength!”—
“I have a companion already.”
Bwjwkwhwhwuwksoei WHEN HE SAID THAT ON MY FIRST READ, I DIED!!!! Nirvana seems to have a thing for Tsunderes tho...too bad the Tsundere Magnet title is already taken by our Lord Dokja.
[The constellation ‘Demon-Like Judge of Fire likes this triangle] [2000 coins have been sponsored]
Nirvana was my most liked person for this. I mean-come on! He gave us a nice triangle...
I opened my mouth, “What is this nonsense? We aren’t companions.”
Yoo Jonghyuk replied with a blank expression, “No one was talking about you.”
Love 020 but it’s ‘companion’ instead of fiancé.
“Why isn’t it me? Why him?”
I hurriedly whispered toward Yoo Jonghyuk. “Hey. Just say that you like him. Quickly!”
“I don’t want to.”
“Why? Hey, just close your eyes and so it once...”
Nirvana shouted angrily when he saw me whispering. “Don’t whisper that n front of me!”
So...Kdrama/Asian drama again. Crazy-ex-threatens-to-do-something-unless-male-lead-gets-back-with-her-but-he-refuses-because-he’s-faithful-to-a-fault.
“I’m not interested in men!”
[The constellation ‘Demon-Like Judge of Fire cried out for blood] [2,000] coins have been sponsored]
Nirvana looked like he could puke. “I’m not a man!”
[The constellation ‘Demon-Like Judge of Fire is embarrassed]
“Of course, I’m not a woman either.”
Nirvana said non-binary rights! Uriel is perfect and I want to marry her but Gabriel is terrifying. ‘
‘I’m not interested in men.’ Oh it you ARE interested in a squid!
Yoo Jonghyuk stood in front of me. Nirvana’s mandala and Yoo Jonghyuk’s Heaven Shaking Sword collided.
Nirvana said, “What a lovely friendship. You are thinking of your companion first?”
F R I E N D S H I P
This have me K-Drama vibes: when the main lead (or second me lead 😢) stops a girl/bully/old lady/ex from slapping his girl.
“You talk too much. It will be hard for you to get Yoo Jonghyuk in the future.” —-
“I’m allow you to become one with me.!”
“Shut up, you pervert.”-
Now Dokja is the ex and Nirvana is Y/N from those cringed fanfics I used to read...
Dokhyuk Moments: Part 9
(- means I skipped sentences)
Was it the right choice to take care of this child? Maybe it I would make her unhappy. For now, it was unknown. However, I would do my best to protect this child.
This isn’t a Dokhyuk moment, but this is so cute. Like a parent feeling insecure about raising an adopted child.
I mean- Jonghyuk of another regression raised her, so...<divorced parents and the daddy takes the child but feels unsure because the dad was the one that psysically took care of the child (feeding and all)>
[If you come now, I’ll give you the chance to become one with Yoo Jonghyuk]
..sacrifices must be made. And Jonghyuk left right after hearing this-
Yoo Jonghyuk was in a terrible state of kind and had a thought for the first time.
“Kim Dokja...”
The fact that his first thought was ‘Kim Dokja’ 😘
“No matter what, Yoo Jonghyuk will always survive. Now it’s either you or me.”
I don’t know what to say about this. Out of context (or even in context if you think about it), it’s really romantic.
“Master can save Ahjussi!”-
However, Yoo Jonghyuk was no where to be found.
¡Spoilers for ‘In Another Life’! This reminds me of Aakashi not going to Bokuto’s funeral because he didn’t want his last memory of Bokuto to be lifeless.
“However, he will live again.”-
“No. He must live.”
Then why was he clenching his fist like that?
BECAUSE HE DOENST LIKE IT WHEN YOU DIE, BAKA-
“I don’t know why you are qualified, but you better be good.”
As the Russia Representative showed a fighting spirit, Yoo Jonghyuk stepped forward.
— “don’t interfere. This is between me and the ugly guy.” Dispite Iris’s warning, Yoo Jonghyuk continued staring at her.
Awww he proteccc
This part is a bit short, but y’all know what’s coming next-
I want the anime adaptation of orv to start drawing Dokja as a decently plain man in the train. And then I want them to slowly distort or blur his features as he becomes more and more separated from the story. I want his face to become more detailed as he gets closer and closer to certain characters
It still cracks me up that Kim Dokja has a WALL that EATS people. And makes them do LITERAL emotional labour.
babe you’re not Kim Dokja pls stop trying to distance yourself from the narrative
I had a dream that would work so well as a fanfic but idk which ship I should use. atp I’m considering doing a Wenny King x Fourth Wall fic 😭
The fourth wall in the latest chapter in the webtoon be like:
"There once was a man named Kim Dokja."
The beauty of storytelling and underlying theme of omniscient readers viewpoint is incredible and deserves a post dedicated to it
ORV, at its core, is truly a story for the readers. This is the POV of someone who grew up with stories, loved them, lived them, just like most of us in this app
It's a story for those who would eagerly wait to read new books. For those who'd keep a little book in their schoolbag all the time, carrying it wherever we'd go. For those who'd lose themselves in words and new worlds. For those who lived and breathed in the books we read
To love a piece of literature so much that it becomes entwined with your very existence.
It's about us readers, who exist for stories and a love letter to all those pieces of literature that leave a mark on us.
In the end, ORV is nothing but an ode to it's reader
